新课程正在快进地走进中小学的校园,走进我们每一位教师的生活当中。
每一位教师将面临空前挑战。
如果我们百万教师都能认真地将国家的意志、专家的思想转变为教学行为,中国的孩子将拥有一个自主独立、健康幸福的明天。
作为一名教师,努力探索新的教学路子是义不容辞的。
我经过多年的教学实践,总结了“张思中英语教学法”的成功经验,融合了多种教学法的合理成分,并进行综合折中的辨证统一,摸索出一套具有山区英语教学研究价值的方法——初中英语“两环五步”教学法。
2000年开始实验,2003年被市教育学会认定为教育科研课题。
2003年周宁县狮城中学成为全国十五规划《初中英语课堂教学模式与课堂标准实施研究》的课题实验挂牌学校。
在县教研室的指导下,正式启动了《初中英语课堂教学模式与课堂标准实施研究》的课题研究与实践。
一、指导思想据教育部1996—1997年对我国1993年义务教育课程方案的实施情况的调查显示,我国中学英语的教学方法的特点为:教师讲解多于学生操练;英语教学中,使用英语的比例较低,一般中学仅占24%;中学教师对各种教学法的态度以语法翻译法的认同最大。
因此,大部分教师的课堂英语教学方法基本上带有翻译法的特点,教学的侧重点是语言本身的知识传授,(左焕琪1990.p. 10)尽管在我国再没有做过这样大面积类似调查,但以上外语教学的状况仍然为如今英语课堂教学的主要形式,更不用说农村英语课堂教学方法会如何。
受以上教学方法的影响,我国农村教学中普遍存在的问题:知识传授比重大,语言实践不足,这是导致学生学了六年,却不能运用的主要原因。
针对这一现状,在进行了大量的理论学习和学情调查之后,笔者从2001年8月开始旨在于探索初中英语课堂教学的改革,现已初步形成初中英语“两环五步”教学法,并在我县有一定规模。
结合课程标准,在教学策略方面大胆创新与实践,以追求课堂教学的高效率和学生学业的高成就为核心,在生机勃勃、情智交融、全体参与的课堂教学活动中全面迎接新世纪的挑战。
系列研究尽量全景式地扫描当今中小学课堂教学的流行策略,以实现新课堂标准所提出的目标,即激发和培养学生英语的兴趣,帮助学生树立自信心,形成有效的学习策略,养成良好的学习习惯,使学生掌握一定的语言基本知识和基本技能,建立初步的语感,获得基本的语言运用能力,了解文化差异,培养爱国主义精神,增强世界意识,为学生的成长、发展和终身学习打下良好基础。
二、初中英语“两环五步”教学法的原则。
1.“两环五步”教学法的“两环”即“音标单词关”和“领悟语法关”。
⑴音标单词关:在课堂实践中我们发现,每节课前几分钟,教师反复领读单词,机械操练,学生厌学情绪有所上涨。
“填鸭式”教学开始。
仁爱版<<Project Englis h>>没有编排音标教学要求。
课题小组研究认为要先进行音标单词教学。
重新剪辑编写〈〈七年级英语音标.单词.口语〉〉册子,印发给学生。
主要集中单词表中贴近学生生活的常用词,避免学习内容陈旧,缺乏与社会、科技和学生生活的联系的单词,教师应当在教材教学的基础上随时把鲜活的英语输入教学,让学生能够感受英语,能够使用英语表达自己的思想。
例如当今流行的email(电子邮件),clone(克隆),netizen(网民)等,从各版教材中剪取会面、打电话、爱好、食物、购物和课堂用语等话题素材。
要求采用情景交际教学等方法,如用简笔画、实物、挂图、绘画学单词及肢体语言等等。
这个环节用1个月时间,要求学生基本能够认读音标,掌握200个单词音、形、义。
这为学生读课文奠定了基础,仅仅如此,学生还是无法预习,语法阻碍了理解基本句子,影响了教学活动的开展,领悟语法又显得重要。
⑵领悟语法关:由于缺少英语氛围,中国学生学习英语要有一定的语法知识。
我们采用了〈〈be动词与形容词〉〉、〈〈介词与名词复数〉〉、〈〈一般现在时〉〉和〈〈现在进行时〉〉的语法专题学习,节节相扣,为了尽量避免枯燥地解释,从课内外教材剪取相应的对话材料和短文。
教学活动中采取了归纳推理,同时培养学生分析与解决问题的能力,进一步加强了语感。
2.“五步”即“指定学习任务”,“指导学习活动”,“组织操练活动”,“组织小组竞赛”和“组织发展性作业”。
它是课堂组织形式,是课堂教学过程。
什么是教学过程?教学论认为:教学过程既是一种特殊的认识过程,又是一个促进学生全面发展的过程,它是认识与发展相统一的活动过程。
新课程标准下教学过程可作这样的表述:教学过程是师生双方在教学目的指引下,以教材为中介,教师组织和引导学生主动掌握知识、发展能力、形成良好个性心理品质的认识与发展相统一的活动过程。
其实教学过程还可以这样表述:从结构来看,它是一个以教师、学生、教材、教学目的和教学方法为基本要素的多维结构;从功能来看,它是一个教师引导学生掌握知识、发展能力、形成良好心理品质的认识与发展相统一的过程;从性质来讲,它又是一个有目的、有计划的师生相互作用的双边活动过程。
传统的教师角色在人们的心中早已根深蒂固,即“师者,所以传道、授业,解惑者也”,教师就是唯一的知识源泉和载体,教师就是单纯的知识传授者。
在新的课程理念指导下的基础教育课程改革,对教师在教学过程中充当的角色有了一个新的诠释和定位:教师是学生学习活动的组织者、合作者、引导者、和参与者,是学生学习情境的创造者;教学过程是师生交往、共同发展的互动过程。
因此决定学习活动类型的关键因素是教师,只有教师贯彻以教师为主导,以学生为主体的教学原则,适当发挥集体学习功能,并且采取发展性教学结构和教材自习化,才有可能获得最优的学习活动类型,我们吸取任务型教学模式的许多操作方式,采取如下教学组织形式:教师主导教学学生主体学习第一步:指定学习任务…………………… 明确任务发现问题第二步:指导学习活动…………………研究解决问题第三步:组织操练活动…………………… 智力形成过程第四步:组织小组竞赛…………………… 激发学习兴趣第五步:组织发展性作业………………… 智慧和能力的发展在②—⑤间给予评价在②—⑤间给予承认任务型教学模式是培养学生运用语言进行交际的有效途径之一,近年来,国际上广泛采用任务型语言教学方法,教育部制订的《国家英语课程标准》(实验稿)以及人民教育出版社新修订的九年义务教育初中第一册均强调了以任务为基础的语言学习。
