A lot of advertisements tell us that many poor people in the world can live on less than $1 a day. That’s all it would take to help someone in need – $1 a day, $7 a week or about $30 a month. For that little, you could save someone’s life.
Also, there are some nonprofits providing vaccinations (提供疫苗) to children to prevent(阻止)illness, like Shot@Life. There are even nonprofits providing mosquito nets(蚊帐)to stop the spread of malaria (疟疾的传播) in Africa, such as Nothing But Net. If you want to help, just go to these websites.
It doesn’t cost much to help someone who needs it. If you want to do more, learning how to help the poor is simple. There are volunteer positions at any nonprofit where you can offer help, raise money, be a part of it, and even go to these poor nations in order to help people.

She chatted with her parents about the culture differences between the two countries.
“The people in both countries are very friendly to foreigners. But they have different cultures. For example, when I spoke Chinese in China, the people always showed surprise on their faces. But when I came to Japan, I found it was opposite. Most local people there hoped I could talk with them in Japanese, though I was not good at it,” she said.

That means we'll have breakfast at half past seven. The bus has to leave at half past eight. When you finish breakfast, go to the car park to get on the bus. Remember to bring your red tickets for lunch. We’ll have lunch at a restaurant near the lake and you m ust have your ticket, or you won’t get any lunch! If you haven’t got a red ticket yet, you can get one from the office. Oh, one more thing, I know it’s summer but it can get quite cold in the mountains even in July, so bring a jacket with you. You’ll need one in the evening. OK! See you tomorrow morning.
