丰城市是宜春代管的县级市，江西十个县级市之一。

在2010年全国百强县排名中，排在96位，在江西省内排在第二，仅次于南昌县。

丰城市历史文化名城，南昌著名大儒徐孺子就是丰城人，中国只有两条孺子路，一条在南昌市区，一条在丰城。

丰城千年来一直是南昌的一部分，“物华天宝，龙光射牛斗之墟；人杰地灵，徐孺下陈蕃之榻”中的典故都是出自丰城。

共和国成立之后丰城才划归宜春。

丰城与南昌市的距离跟进贤县差不多，进贤县曾经划给抚州，但是80年代南昌收回了进贤，丰城却一直被宜春代管。

丰城的方言非常接近南昌，用南昌话可以跟丰城人自如交流。

丰城最有名的特产莫过于冻米糖，这个南昌人都知道。

丰城人对宜春并不认同，很少人对外宣称自己是宜春人，甚至有人一直不知道自己归宜春管。

宜春3个地级市“丰樟高”，紧靠南昌，远离宜春，一直以来对地级单位的认同感并不强烈。

我希望这三个地方能够加快发展步伐，努力开发自身特色，融入和建设昌九城市圈和泛鄱阳湖经济区。

从南昌市自驾车60公里横穿南昌县不用2个小时就可以到达丰城，这一直是我理想的旅游胜地......可惜我一直没有机会。

在玉华山风景区内，可谓是无石不奇，这些石头形状有别，体型不一，千奇百怪，难于尽述。
