Contact Ocean Optics for information on bulb replacement.Chapter 1SetupOverviewThe HL-3 Series of Halogen Calibrated Light Sources for the VIS-Shortwave NIR (350 nm-1100 nm) is a tungsten-halogen light source that provides known absolute intensity values at several wavelengths, expressed in µW/cm²/nm and in a radiant flux in µW/nm for the INT models. Since the spectral intensity of the HL-3 Series can be traced to an intensity standard traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), it is specifically designed for calibrating the absolute spectral response of your system.NoteIf you have a spectrometer setup that is highly sensitive, you may oversaturate it.HL-3 plus-CAL Calibrated Light Source1: SetupModels AvailableHL-3 Series light source models are available in regular (350 – 1100 nm or 350 – 1050 nm) and extended (EXT models) (350 – 2400 nm) wavelength ranges. The INT models are used with an integrating sphere (rather than a CC-3 cosine-corrected irradiance probe). The following models are available in the HL-3 Series:In addition the following plus versions are available which reduce the percentage of uncertainty to 3% and offer a shutter:The following sections provide instructions on unpacking and setting up your HL-3 Series Light Source. Unpacking the HL-3 Series Light Source►Procedure1.Unpack your lamp assembly and power supply carefully. Although the lamp is rigidly mounted,dropping this instrument can cause permanent damage.2.Inspect the outside of the instrument and make sure that there is no damage. Make sure you have your HL-3 light source, your spectrometer, a CC-3 cosine-corrected irradiance probe or integrating sphere, and Ocean Optics spectrometer operating software.The procedure will differ, depending on whether you are using a cosine corrector or an integrating sphere (INT models).Connecting a Spectrometer to the HL-3-CAL Models When Using a Cosine Corrector►ProcedureUse the following procedure to connect your HL-3 light source to a spectrometer when using a cosine corrector:1.Loosen the set screw on the HL-3's SMA barrel and the CC-3 cosine corrector adapter slot.2.Screw the CC-3 cosine corrector onto the end of the fiber. The connection should be tight. Insertthe CC-3 all the way into the HL-3's adapter slot, taking the place of the SMA's inner barrel.3.Tighten the setscrew on the SMA adapter slot of the HL-3 with an Allen wrench. Connect theother end of the fiber into the SMA connector of the spectrometer.4.Plug the switching AC adapter into the back of the HL-3. The adapter stabilizes power cominginto the lamp to ensure constant spectral intensity.5.Plug the wall mount AC adapter into a standard outlet..6.Turn the lamp on. Allow the lamp to warm up for at least 15 minutes before using it. Place theHL-3 horizontally.7.Insert the calibration disk that came with your light source into your computer. This disk containsone ASCII file with the same information as the Lamp Calibration Reports that came with yourHL-3. The file name contains the lamp's serial number, followed by .LMP. Copy these files tothe desired directory on your computer.8.Start your spectrometer operating software. See your spectrometer manual for instructions oncalibrating the spectrometer with the HL-3.1: SetupConnecting a Spectrometer to the HL-3-INT-CAL Models When Using an Integrating Sphere►ProcedureUse the following procedure to connect your HL-3 light source to a spectrometer when using an integrating sphere (INT models):1.The HL-3-CAL-INT and HL-3-CAL-INT-EXT have a diffusor for light output. Place the HL-3-CAL-INT output diffusor at the aperture of your integrating sphere. The minimum aperturediameter of your integrating sphere should be 6 mm. The HL-3-CAL-INT is validated for anylarger Aperture diameters up to 30 mm. The HL-3-CAL-INT has to be placed in a verticalorientation.2.Plug the switching AC adapter into the back of the HL-3. The adapter stabilizes power cominginto the lamp to ensure constant spectral intensity.3.Plug the wall mount AC adapter into a standard outlet.4.Turn the lamp on. Allow the lamp to warm up for at least 15 minutes before using it.5.Insert the calibration disk that came with your light source into your computer. This disk containsone ASCII file with the same information as the Lamp Calibration Reports that came with your HL-3. The file name contains the lamp's serial number, followed by .LMP. A sample log is provided inAppendix B: HL-3 Use Log.Chapter 2HL-3 Specifications This section provides information on the operating environment and specifications of the HL-3 Series light sources.Operating EnvironmentThe following table provides information on optimizing the operating environment of your HL-3.Specifications2: HL-3 SpecificationsAppendix ACalibration BasicsOverviewCalibrated systems, independent of the particular calibrated unit, are always traceable to national standards. A calibrated item is comparable to all calibrated items which are calibrated for the same calibrated unit.Each measurement result has an uncertainty, and the level of uncertainty is given either for one single standard deviation (k = 1) or for two standard deviations (k = 2), which is often named as expanded uncertainty.A calibrated device should give trusted results; therefore, the calibration has to be done by the metrologist following a previously defined and proven calibration procedure. Clear documentation of the calibration setup and of the calibrated devices used is an indispensable requirement.Calibration for Absolute Irradiance: Models HL-3 plus-CAL, HL-3 plus-CAL-EXT, HL-3-CAL and HL-3-CAL-EXTAbsolute irradiance has the physical unit µW/nm/cm^2. It reflects the total amount of emitted electromagnetic radiation from a light source and is typically realized by placing a light source inside an integrating sphere. The HL-3 plus-INT models are used to calibrate the integrating sphere with an attached spectrometer.A: Calibration BasicsUncertainty Level Calculation for HL-3 plus FamilyEach realistic measurement has an uncertainty and therefore, a calibration has an uncertainty. The uncertainty should be validated seriously since this reflects how reliable the calibration is. The following international standards define the uncertainty and are describing how the uncertainty should be derived: ∙IEC Guide 115 Application of uncertainty of measurement to conformity assessment activities in the electrotechnical sector.∙JCGM100:2008: GUM 1995 with minor correctionsOcean Optics calibrations are done in relation to these international standards.Ocean Optics provides a calibration of the HL-3 plus-CAL on an absolute irradiance scale inµW/nm/cm^2. Passive crossovers exist in speaker cabinets to split the high and low frequencies of an amplifier output and feed into the appropriate speaker components. This is usually necessary in cabinets with separate low frequency and high frequency speaker components (woofers and tweeters) but can be inefficient because it operates on the high energy output from an amplifier and dissipates much energy as heat.Active crossovers operate before the amplifier(s) stage, where the signal is typically less than a Volt, affording accurate and efficient separation of the component frequencies. Essentially, an active crossover splits each audio signal into 2, 3 or even 4 sets of frequencies, feeding each into a separate amplifier, which in turn powers a specific speaker component. This allows each speaker component to handle just the type of sound it produces most efficiently, avoiding wasting energy from the amplifier. The main parameters are the crossover frequencies and gain amounts for each output.Select the MODE that the crossover is to be used from the buttons on the rear panel. Each mode gives controls different parameters, so care must be taken to read the control’s function printed on the front panel for the given mode.If tri-amped or quad-amped systems are used, the Crossover frequency multiplier should be pressed in for MID/HIGH or HIGH-MID/HIGH crossover points. This causes the frequency control to operate at a much higher frequency (10x) which is more suited to the division between mid and high frequency drivers.With all amplifiers switched off, turn down all GAIN controls and switch on the crossover. Switch on amplifiers and turn up the volume of each output. Play the signal from the sound source (mixer) through the crossover and gradually increase the gain controls of each section. Gradually rotate the XOVER FREQ (crossover frequency) control for LOW/HIGH or LOW/MID or LOW/LOW-MID until the desired bass character is achieved. This is the control that determines the highest frequencies that will be fed into the sub cabinets. Lower crossover settings will need higher gain settings to compensate for frequencies that are not fed into the sub cabinet (filtered out).Repeat the crossover frequency setting process for LOW-MID, MID, HIGH-MID and HIGH frequencies (where appropriate) adjusting the crossover frequencies to suit each driver and gains to balance the range of frequencies.Occasionally, frequencies from some cabinets in stereo setups can have opposing phase characters. Also, some drivers may sit physically further back from others. This can cause cancellation of frequencies. To deal with this, the Citronic crossovers have Phase switches, which can be pressed in to invert the phase of the signal (push becomes pull and vice versa). This can be tested by trial and error to hear if pressing the switch in has a beneficial effect to the volume level of that particular frequency.To further help avoiding phase cancellation, the LOW can be “summed” to a mono signal (LF SUM), eradicating differing signals in the lower registers of a stereo signal.Remember to turn down amplifiers and switch off prior to powering down the crossover to avoid loud noises in the sound system.Note: for further troubleshooting, refer equipment to qualified service personnel for testing© Citronic 2011。

Proven choice for the highest levels of security, and fewer patches than windows-based systems.• Integrity Measurement Architecture (IMA). IMA detects if files have been accidentally or maliciously altered, both remotely and locally, appraises a file’s measurement against a “good” value stored as an extended attribute, and enforces local file integrity. Included files: executable files, kernel modules and kernel loaded firmware.• Secure protocols: HTTPS, SSH, SFTP. Non-secure versions of these protocols – HTTP, telnet and FTP - are blocked by default.• Secure Communications to RTU, to SCADA and to IEDs. On both serial or TCP connections, DNP3 SA (Secure Authentication) can improve security by blocking replay, spoofing and man-in-the-middle attacks. For the highest level security, DNP3 TCP messages can be received and sent through an encrypted TLS tunnel.• Strong passwords, password rules, User Groups. Includes how long a password can be used, how different the next password must be, lockout after repeated failed attempts, assignment of privileges to users (what can be controlled, what can be acknowledged, what can be changed, etc) and User Groups with specific administer-assigned privileges.• Remote Authentication using LDAP or RADIUS. When a user attempts to connect to Orion I/O, authentication can be based upon credentials stored in Active Directory (AD) or in a RADIUS Server, instead of the credentials being stored in Orion. This simplifies management of access policies and password policies.• Built-in Firewall. The Orion uses netfilter/iptables supporting stateless and stateful packet filtering for both inbound and outbound traffic. Connection tracking is provided by (ip_conntrack, nf_conntrack). The Orion firewall can be configured through a web-based GUI, or configured at the command line.• Backup Orion I/O Configuration and Change Management. The software option “Orion Configuration Backup Manager” retrieves and zips all configuration files from the Orion (points mapping configuration, math and logic, HMI screens, firewall settings, etc) plus settings from attached SEL® relays. This zipped file may be transferred via secure SFTP to an enterprise application to analyze configurations, to ensure no unauthorized changes have been made and to ensure conformance to company security policies. If the Orion or SEL relay was compromised or destroyed, the files in storage could be loaded into replacement units to restore operation.• Security event logging with “syslog”. Syslog creates a non-alterable, time-stamped record of up to 200,000 security events including attempts to load malware, who is connected (by username), how they are connected (HTTPS, Front Port, SSH, etc.) and what they viewed or operated. In addition, any point in the Orion I/O database, such as breaker TRIPPED/CLOSED, can be configured to log changes in syslog. Syslog can be streamed to a syslog server (such as Tripwire Log Center) or syslog records can be captured in a .csv file which can be accessed manually from the Orion I/O, or pushed out from the Orion I/O automatically using FTP/SFTP or Orion Email.• Security Monitoring Points. Includes much of the same security data as syslog, but data can be mapped to SCADA, to Alarming, to HMI screens, to Math & Logic or to Orion Email.
