In my view, grit is most likely the quality that makes an explorer remarkable. Grit is passion and perseverance for longterm and meaningful goals. For example, the search for a COVID-19 vaccine was uncharted research territory for scientists around the world in 2020. Researchers, or explorers in this metaphor, must conduct numerous experiments and overcome countless challenges to develop a vaccine, which is the best hope for an end to the pandemic. Without their constant efforts, they wouldn’t have successfully developed effective vaccines against coronavirus. So I think grit plays the most important role in making an explorer remarkable.
