二、大学英语口语教学面临的主要问题从上个世纪80年代开始，我国进行大学英语改革并且取得了令人瞩目的成绩。

但是，外语教学在“开口”能力的培养上还明显滞后。

1.与中小学英语教学脱节首先，由于受到地域、师资教学条件等因素的影响外语学习起始年龄不一致，导致教学内容重复、交叉，致使学生产生厌学情绪。

其次，虽然新修订的中小学教学大纲对中、小学口语表达能力提出了定性要求，但是受到应试教育的影响，中小学英语教学并未能给予学生足够的听说训练，特别是广大农村地区，初高中时期学生和老师对学生口语能力的忽略和不重视，因而导致学生口头表达能力发展极不平衡。

2.传统教学方法忽视口语训练传统的英语教学方法，教师讲得多，学生练得少，把着眼点放到了精讲语法和死记硬背上。

口语训练不被重视，学生不仅感到索然寡味，味同嚼蜡，而且学习动力不足，效率低下，久而久之，便形成厌学的情绪，在交际时难以利用语言表达思想，结果造成“哑巴”英语现象。
