my favorite film作文初二When it comes to my favorite film, my mind immediately jumps to "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty". This film has such a charm that it has deeply engraved itself in my heart.Let me tell you why I love this film so much. The story follows Walter Mitty, an ordinary guy working in the negative assets department of Life Magazine. His life is mundane and filled with routines. But Walter has a rich inner world. He often daydreams and escapes into his fantasies when reality becomes too dull or overwhelming. One of the most memorable scenes for me is when Walter decides to embark on an adventure to find a missing negative for the final print issue of the magazine. He leaves his comfort zone and travels to places he has only ever imagined. The first stop is Greenland. As he steps off the plane, the cold wind hits his face, and he's immediately surrounded by a landscape that's both beautiful and intimidating. The small town is filled with quirky characters. There's the drunk pilot who sings off-key in the bar and then offers to fly Walter to the next destination in his rickety old plane. The plane ride itself is a thrill. The wind howls through the cracks, and Walter's heart is pounding with both fear and excitement. As they fly over the vast expanse of ice and ocean, the view is breathtaking. But then, disaster strikes. The engine fails, and they have to make an emergency landing on the sea. Walter jumps into the freezing water and swims for his life, all while his mind is a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. From Greenland, Walter travels to Iceland. The landscape there is like something out of a fairytale. Vast fields of steaming geothermal vents, mountains that seem to touch the sky, and roads that wind through the most spectacular scenery. He hitches a ride with a group of bearded, friendly Icelandic men in a truck that smells of fish and adventure. They blast music and laugh as they speed along the roads.Throughout his journey, Walter faces countless challenges and obstacles. He gets lost, runs out of money, and has to rely on the kindness of strangers. But with each hurdle, he grows a little more, becomes a little braver. The film is not just about the places Walter visits; it's about his transformation. He starts as a timid, dreamy man and evolves into someone who takes risks, lives in the moment, and discovers the true meaning of life. The acting in the movie is superb. Ben Stiller, who plays Walter Mitty, brings so much depth and vulnerability to the character. You can see the inner struggle and the spark of determination in his eyes. The supporting cast is also fantastic, each adding their own unique flavor to the story. The cinematography is another aspect that makes this film stand out. The way the camera captures the beauty of nature, the colors, the textures, it makes you feel like you're right there with Walter, experiencing everything along with him.The music in "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" is the perfect companion to the visuals. The soundtrack enhances every emotion, every moment, making the viewing experience all the more immersive. This film has taught me that it's never too late to step out of your comfort zone and chase your dreams. It's a reminder that life is full of surprises and adventures if we're willing to take that leap of faith. In the end, "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" isn't just a film; it's an inspiration. It makes me believe that even the most ordinary of us can have extraordinary adventures if we have the courage to go for it. And that's why it will always be my favorite film.。

Is it because they are lazy? Of course not. In fact, the difference in spelling was started by Noah Webster(1758 — 1843). He was a teacher who reformed (改革) English to make American identity (特征) stronger. Linguists (语言学家) celebrate his birthday on October 16 every year. After the Revolutionary War (1775 — 1783), Webster believed that Americans should have their own dictionary, rather than rely on British dictionaries. He dropped the British “u” in some words. And he changed “centre” into “center” for children to learn English by spelling words more like what they sounded. He used “subway” instead of British word “underground”. Some other examples are “soccer” and “football”, “fall” and “autumn”.Webster wasn’t shy about expressing his opinions. In defining (定义) preposterous(unreasonable), he wrote: “A republican government in the hands of female is preposterous.” Webster spent 28 years on the project before completing the 70,000-word dictionary with his American-style spelling in 1828. He also added local words. His dictionary was widely used in schools. Linguists believed it helped a new country achieve unity (统一) and cultural independence at a time when most people cared about political freedom.“He was the creator of our language and the creator of American identity,” said Joshua Kendall, who is working on a book about Webster. “He at last brought us together through our language.”4.Which is NOT true about Webster’s dictionary?A.It has local words in it.B.It is a 70,000-word dictionary.C.All the words are spelled without “u”.D.Its words are in American-style spelling.5.What does the underlined phrase “rely on” in Paragraph 2 mean?A.Depend on.B.Trust in.C.Put up with.D.Give up. 6.What do people think of Webster’s dictionary?A.It is the only dictionary that Americans still use today.B.It helped to bring Americans together besides its cultural influence.C.It has no influence on the development of American English.D.It helped to make American English more useful than British English.7.What’s the main idea of the passage?A.The development of the British English.B.American English is better than British English.C.Noah Webster added local words to the dictionary.D.Noah Webster wrote an American English dictionary and reformed English.COne August afternoon, Richard Allen dropped off his last passenger, Mrs. Carey. Lifting two grocery bags, he followed her across the yard and stood on the step of her house. Glancing up, he saw a large wasp (黄蜂) nest under the roof. Allen had heard that wasps can become more likely to sting (蜇) in summer. He mentioned this to Mrs. Carey, who had opened the door.“Oh, they don’t bother me,” she said lightly. “I go in and out all the time.”Anxiously, Allen looked at the nest again—— to see the wasps flying straight at him. “Hurry!” he shouted to Mrs. Carey. “Get in!”She stepped quickly inside. Allen ran for his mini-bus. Too late; they were upon him. Just as he jumped aboard, half a dozen red spots showed on his arm, and he felt more on his back and shoulders. As he was driving down the road, Allen felt as if something was burning at the back of his neck, and the “fire” was spreading forward toward his face. And immediate anxiety took hold of him.Allen knew that stings could cause some persons to die. But he had been stung the previous summer and the after-effects soon passed. However, what he didn’t know what that the first sting had turned his body into a time bomb waiting for the next to set off an explosion.Miles from the nearest medical assistance, Allen began to feel his tongue thick and heavy and his heartbeat louder. Most frightening, he felt his breathing more and more difficult. He reached for the radio mike (话筒), trying to call the mini-bus center, but his words were hardly understandable. Signals were also poor that far out. He knew a rescue team was on 24-hour duty at the Amherst Fire Department’s north station. So his best chance was to make a run for it.Rushing down the mountain, Allen tried not to panic, focusing his mind on each sharp turn. He was almost through the last of them when he felt sure he was going into shock (休克). Just then he reached for the radio mike again.“Call fire station,” he shouted, concentrating to form the words. “Emergency. Bee sting. Emergency. There in ten minutes.”“Five-ten,” the center replied.Hold on, Allen thought. Keep your eyes open. Breathe. Keep awake. At last he reached the station. Two firemen ran out. Allen felt their hands grasp him before he hit the ground. You made it, he thought.8.It is mentioned in the passage that wasps are more likely to attack when _______.A.there are huge noisesB.strangers are approachingC.the air is filled with food smellD.the hottest season comes around9.Allen didn’t know that if stung by wasps again, he would _______.A.have no after-effectsB.suffer from sharper painC.surely lose his lifeD.become more sensitive10.Allen failed at his first attempt to send his message to the mini-bus center because _______.A.he was unable to speak clearlyB.his radio equipment was poorC.he was in a state of shockD.no one was on duty11.Which would be the best title for the passage?A.Allen, A Helpless DriverB.Wasps, Bloody KillersC.A Race Against DeathD.War Against WaspsDArmy ants are mainly distributed in South America and Africa and mostly live in the Amazon River basin. They like to live in groups and generally one or two million in a group. They are migratory, have no fixed on the move. When encountering obstacles such as gaps, army ants are able to connect their bodies to each other and build a bridge for large groups of ants to pass through, saving crawling distance. The bridge can be built and removed very quickly, in seconds.Christopher Reid of the University of Sydney’s Insect Behaviour and Ecology Laboratory, said that when studying the ant bridge, he initially assumed that once the ant bridge was built the two end positions of the bridge would be fixed, and the bridge itself would be relatively stationary (不动的).However, after observation, it was found that the ant bridge would constantly change according to the army ants’ knowledge of the outside world. The ant bridge can move slowly from the original position, increasing the number of ants in the bridge, extending the length of the bridge, so that other ants may save a lot of efforts by using the ant bridge instead of taking other routes. In this way, it can continuously compress the distance to the target area.Meanwhile, the researchers have also found that the changing ant bridge does not always achieve the shortest distance. When the bridge is extended to a certain extent, the number of ants involved in the construction of the ant bridge will not continue to increase, and the length of the bridge will stop growing.Researchers believe that army ants use the best methods in the construction of bridges. Since the ants involved in building the bridge are unable to participate in other work, the colony stops putting in more ants as soon as it finds that the number of ants put into extending the bridge is out of balance with the number of ants needed for other jobs.12.What is mainly introduced about army ants in paragraph 1?A.Their migration.B.Their distribution.C.Their living habits.D.Their hunting targets.13.What did the research find about the bridge built by army ants ?A.It becomes longer constantly.B.It keeps unchanged once built.C.It achieves the shortest distance.D.It is adjusted according to the needs.14.What does the underlined word “compress” mean in paragraph 3?A.Reduce.B.Calculate.C.Neglect.D.Judge.15.What is the writing purpose of the text ?A.To stress the importance of cooperation.B.To explain army ants’ incredible strength.C.To show army ants’ collective intelligence.D.To indicate the harmony between nature and human.

1My Dream is to Be a PilotHi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about my huge dream of becoming a pilot when I grow up. Flying up in the clouds seems like the most amazing job in the whole wide world!Ever since I was a tiny little kid, I've been obsessed with airplanes. When I was a baby, my parents say I would get all excited and start kicking my little feet whenever a plane flew overhead. I guess I was just born to fly!My very first plane ride was when I was 4 years old. We went on a family vacation to Florida to visit my grandparents. I still remember sitting by the window, staring out in total awe as the houses and cars got smaller and smaller until everything looked like a miniature toy town below. As we climbed higher into the sky, I could see the crazy patterns that the roads make and all the different shades of blue in the lakes and oceans. It was like getting a bird's eye view of thewhole world! That plane ride sparked my lifelong fascination with flying. From that day on, every time I went past an airport, I would plead with my parents to stop so I could watch the planes take off and land. I would run back and forth on the viewing deck, keeping count of how many I saw. I knew all the different aircraft models just from their silhouettes and the sounds of their engines. For my 6th birthday, my parents took me to an air museum where I got to actually go inside the cockpit of an old fighter jet. You can't imagine how enormously excited I was! I sat there playing with all the knobs and buttons, making sound effects like "neeeeeeoooowwww" and pretending I was the pilot. That's when I decided – this was going to be my future career. At home, I'm always building new model airplanes to hang from the ceiling of my bedroom. I have models of all the classics – a Spitfire, a Concorde, the Spirit of St. Louis, you name it. But my number one favorite is the space shuttle. I really want to be an astronaut pilot one day and travel way up into outer space! In school, my best subjects are science and math because I know pilots need to understand all that stuff about aerodynamics, navigation, geometry, physics and more. I'm notjust into the technical aspects though – I also read every book I can find about famous aviators and their daring adventures. My personal hero is Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean back in 1932. She was such a trailblazer and showed that girls can soar just as high as the boys if we work hard and follow our dreams. I have a big poster of her plane hanging above my bed to inspire me.Another awesome aviator I admire is Bessie Coleman, who was the first African American woman to get a pilot's license back in 1921 when they definitely did not make it easy for women or Black people to enter that career. Her motto was "Because of Dreamers of Dreams" which I think is just beautiful. So what exactly is it that makes me want to be a pilot so darn badly? Well, first of all, can you imagine how incredible the views must be up there? Getting to soar amongst the clouds every single day, watching the sun rise and set over endless landscapes down below. Just picturing it gives me goosebumps! But it's not just about the scenery. I think the real thrill of being a pilot is the actual feeling of flight itself. Roaring down the runway, pulling back on the controls and breaking free of the earth's gravitational pull until you're cruising free as a birdthousands of feet up in that vast open sky. It would be a brand new adventure every single day.Of course, being a pilot is about way more than just having fun. It's a massively important job with huge responsibilities to get passengers and cargo safely to their destinations on time. Those people's lives are literally in your hands when you're at the controls. So you always have to stay focused and alert, ready to make split-second decisions if anything goes wrong mid-flight. I may be just a kid now, but I promise I'll have the discipline it takes. When you think about it, pilots basically get to travel the world for a living. How cool is that?! After high school, my plan is to attend an elite aviator university to get all the highest-level training and licenses I'll need. Then I hope to fly jumbo jets for a major international airline so I can visit all my dream destinations – Tokyo, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Cairo, you name it!I can picture myself now in my crisp pilot's uniform, shaking hands with my crew, going through all the pre-flight checklists and doing my safety briefing for the passengers. "Welcome aboard Flight 293 with service from New York to London. We'll be cruising at an altitude of 35,000 feet..." I'll scan the horizon, get my clearance from air traffic control and then rev up those powerful engines to take us up, up and away!Maybe I'll even try for a career as a fighter pilot in the Air Force one day. That would be the ultimate thrill ride! Imagine me at the stick of a supersonic jet, performing daring aerial maneuvers and rocket-fast banking turns, spiraling and rolling and looping through the sky. I'd love the chance to serve my country while pursuing my passion up among the clouds.Of course, being a pilot is not all fun and games. It's one of the most challenging careers out there that takes intense study, keen mental focus and split-second reaction skills. There's a ton of information pilots need to master about aerodynamics, weather patterns, air traffic control procedures, emergency protocols and so much more. But I'm ready to put in the incredibly hard work it will take because this is my absolute life dream.Becoming a pilot will open up a whole new world for me that most people only glimpse in passing out an airplane window. I'll get to experience the freedom of flight, explore exotic destinations, take on life-or-death responsibilities, and soar high above the clouds day after day after day. To me, that sounds a million times better than being stuck behind a desk.So that's my huge, ambitious, sky's-the-limit dream for my future career! Every time a plane engines roars overhead, I'll look up at that stream of smoke with determination, knowing that one day I'll be the one up there, bravely navigating us through the wild blue yonder. The clouds are calling me. I was born to fly!篇2My Dream is to Become a PilotEver since I was a tiny kid, I've always loved looking up at the big blue sky and watching airplanes soar through the clouds. Whenever I see an airplane cruising high above, I get super excited and start daydreaming about what it would be like to be the pilot flying that amazing machine!Being a pilot is the best job in the whole world, in my opinion. It seems so thrilling and adventurous. I love the idea of traveling to lots of cool places and getting to see the whole world from up in the air. How awesome would it be to look down at different countries and cities as you fly over them? I'd get to gaze at famous landmarks and natural wonders from thousands of feet up. That's a view that hardly anyone ever gets to experience.I also think the actual task of piloting an aircraft looks really fun and challenging. All those controls and buttons in thecockpit, it reminds me of the controls on my video games! Except being a pilot is a million times cooler because you're actually controlling this gigantic airplane. I can't even imagine how exciting it would be to be in charge of taking off, flying through the air, and landing a huge passenger jet or cargo plane. It seems so difficult, but I'm positive I could learn all the skills with hard work and practice. The best part is, you get to wear that really awesome pilot uniform with the hat, sunglasses, and everything. I'd look so stylish and professional marching through the airport in that killer outfit. When I'm a pilot, I'll take lots of selfies in the cockpit and make all my friends jealous of my super cool job. They'll all wish they could trade places with me and travel around in airplanes all day!I know becoming a pilot involves years of intense training and studying to learn all about aviation and get certified. But I don't mind working incredibly hard because this is my ultimate dream career. I'm going to stay focused in school, especially on subjects like math, science, and geography that will help prepare me. Then after high school, I'll go to an amazing aviation university or join the Air Force to receive top-notch flight instruction.Of course, there could be some downsides too. Like having to be away from home constantly while flying to different places. And being cramped in a tiny cockpit for hours on really long flights. Oh, and dealing with rude, grumpy passengers! I'm not looking forward to that part. But no job is perfect, so I'll take the good with the bad gladly.Another concern is the danger aspect. Flying an airplane seems very risky, one small mistake and terrible things could happen. But modern aircraft are incredibly safe with so many backups and security measures in place. As long as I'm a responsible, alert pilot who follows all the procedures, I'll be fine. I'm not a reckless daredevil at all. When I'm in that cockpit, you can be sure I'll be taking the utmost care and caution. So in conclusion, my number one dream for the future is to have an exciting, rewarding career as a professional pilot. Just picturing myself at the controls of a powerful aircraft, soaring majestically above the clouds, makes me grin from ear to ear. It's been my biggest aspiration since before I can even remember. With hard work and determination to overcome the challenges, I'm confident I have what it takes to make this dream a reality. Maybe one day I'll even be a famous pilot who gets interviewedon TV! But either way, I'll be living out the adventure of a lifetime up in the skies.篇3My Dream of Being a PilotEver since I was a tiny kid, I've wanted to be a pilot when I grow up. When I close my eyes, I can imagine myself up there in the clouds, flying a huge airplane all over the world! How cool would that be?I think pilots have one of the most exciting jobs ever. They get to travel to amazing places instead of being stuck in an office all day. Every time they go to work, it's like taking a vacation to somewhere new and fascinating. One day they could be in Paris, the next in Tokyo! They get to experience so many different cultures and cuisines. Just the thought of it makes me hungry for sushi or a warm, flakey croissant. But even more than the travel, I dream about the actual flying part. Pilots are like birds, soaring up in the wide open sky. They get an incredible view that hardly anyone else can see - a tiny world down below with roads like little lines and cars looking like ants. Up in the clouds, everything seems so peaceful and free. No traffic jams or crowds to deal with up there!Thinking about all the controls in the cockpit makes me giddy too. There are so many buttons, switches and screens to operate. It's like being at the controls of a real-life video game or spacecraft! Except in this game, hundreds of lives are in your hands. That's an amazing responsibility that I wouldn't take lightly. But I'm a good student who follows directions closely, so I know I could handle it.I love watching planes take off and land when my family goes on trips. As we pull away from the gate, I press my face against the window and thrill at the power of the engines roaring to life. Taking off is like getting shot from a cannon - except instead of tumbling back to earth, the plane climbs higher and higher until the whole scene down below is a wonderful quilt of colors. Even after years of flying, I don't think I'd ever get used to or tired of that adrenaline rush.Landing is like a magic trick where you defy gravity itself. The plane is this huge heavy machine that somehow floats back down to earth so smoothly and gently. It's a good thing pilots have lots of great training, because landing seems much trickier than taking off to me. I would study very hard in flight school to learn those specialized skills. There are so many other amazing parts of being a pilot that I can't wait to experience one day. Like talking to the control tower and getting clearances for takeoff and landing. Or flying through different kinds of weather like wind, rain, clouds or sun. And learning all about the complicated inner workings of an airplane's engines and systems. I'm usually more of anarts-and-crafts kind of kid, but for aircraft stuff I'll make an exception and study every single detail of mechanics and engineering. When I'm a pilot, I'll get to wear one of those awesome uniforms with the crisp white shirt, epaulets on the shoulders, and pair of wings on my chest. I'll look so official and important! Plus you get to carry around a fancy briefcase with your name and flight charts inside. I bet that gets you great service and all the little extras whenever you go out to restaurants or hotels between flights.I know becoming a pilot involves many years of school, flight training, and experience before anyone will trust me with a real aircraft. But I'm patient and determined. I'll start early by taking free intro flying lessons at a local airport as soon as I'm old enough. Then I'll join the aviation club at school, get greatgrades in math and science, and apply for scholarships to college and flight school. My parents are being super supportive of my dream so far. Sometimes on weekends, Dad takes me down to the nearby regional airport to watch the small charter planes take off and land up close. We pack a picnic lunch and spend hours just taking in that beautiful noise of the engines and the unmistakable aviation smells of jet fuel and hot runways. It never gets old!Last year for my birthday, I got an awesome flight simulator video game and some books about aircraft design and famous pilots throughout history. I've already read them cover to cover at least three times! The game is so realistic with all the same controls and procedures that real pilots use. Dad says if I keep practicing on it, I'll get a head start on my training once I begin actual flying lessons. The only thing I'm a tiny bit nervous about is having to move around so much for my job. Most pilots don't get to live in one place for too long before getting reassigned to a different airport or route. I'll miss my friends and extended family whenever we move. But then again, how amazing will it be to make new best friends all over the world? They'll be jealous that I get to travelfor a living while they're stuck at home or in the same boring town forever.I've had this pilot dream for longer than I can even remember. To me, there's no better way to live than up in the skies, far above the earth, with a new amazing view out my window every day. The thought of it is so freeing and magical. Some kids want to be astronauts, some want to be pro athletes or movie stars when they grow up. But for me, my future is in the cockpit of an airliner - comfortable, focused, in control, and soaring off to parts unknown while others can only look up from below and wonder what incredible sights I'm seeing. I can't wait to make my dream reality and spend my career with my head literally in the clouds!。

喝酒碰瓷的英语作文This year, drinking and "touching porcelain" often occurred on the street. This behavior is annoying. The perpetrator made an accident by using forged wounds or old wounds, so as to blackmail the parties and obtain money. And I have also encountered this kind of incident. One month on a windy and dark night, my father drove me home after my interest class. Who knows, in the dark of this quiet night, a lucky "porcelain bumper" is peeping at us."Bang bang", the car turned the corner and stopped in front of a red light. Suddenly, a man flashed out from the dark street in front, stumbling, as if drunk, and came straight to us. Dad brakes calmly and quickly, and I'm in a cold sweat. At this time, a hand reached into the vehicle. That hand didn't look carefully. It was a red lump with stretched blue tendons around it. But if you observe carefully, you will find that the swelling is obviously painted with red paint, and the blue tendons are also rich in color, which is a kind of bluepigment caking. Then a young man's voice sounded, "how did you drive? Look, you've scratched it. Tell me, how much did you pay?" I was so angry that I almost jumped up: "obviously, you deliberately came here..." Before he finished speaking, the man showed a ferocious face, glared at me viciously, and said proudly, "what do you say - lose money quickly! 1800, at least 1800. Hum!" I was scared, for fear that this person would be bad for me.The man held his head high, with a posture of "don't pay or don't go", his hands crossed in front of his chest, his feet constantly stamped on the ground, and his chin raised high. I was silent, but my father suddenly said, "as long as you lose money, don't go to the hospital?" After staying for a while, the man stammered, "ah? Oh... It's too troublesome to go to the hospital! I have something urgent." "The wound is so big, how can we not go to the hospital!" "I want you to lose money! I don't care about the wound!" The man touched the wound with his finger and said angrily.Dad's eyes lit up and said, "don't pretend, I'll tell you! Your wound is not a scratch at all!""How... How not." Seeing that his father had seen through, the man still sophisticated, but his real purpose had already been exposed."Why doesn't it hurt when you touch the wound?" Dad said."You, you, I..." the man was so angry that he stamped his feet hard."Don't go quickly, or I'll call the police!"After hearing this, the man saw that his "Mask" was "torn", so he had to step on the watermelon peel - and ran away in despair.I jumped with fear, and it took me a while to breathe. My father said to me heartily as he started, "we have encountered 'porcelain bumping'. On the way of life, we will always encounter such things. We should learn to deal with them according to law, use the law to protect ourselves and maintain social fairness."Yes! We should be good at using the law toprotect ourselves and uncover the "false mask" of the wicked. Only in this way can we fight against evil people and uphold social justice!。
