Hello, everybody! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, everybody. All right, everybody go ahead and have a seat. How is everybody doing today? (Applause.) How about Tim Spicer? (Applause.) I am here with students at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. And we’ve got students tuning in from all across America, from kindergarten through 12th grade. And I am just so glad that all could join us today. And I want to thank Wakefield for being such an outstanding host. Give yourselves a big round of applause. (Applause.)
I know that for many of you, today is the first day of school. And for those of youin kindergarten, or starting middle or high school, it’s your first day in a new school, so it’s understandable if you’re a little nervous. I imagine there are some seniors out there who are feeling pretty good right now -- (applause) -- with just one more year to go. And no matter what grade you’re in, some of you are probably wishing it were still summer and you could’ve stayed in bed just a little bit longer this morning.

My futureGood dies and gentlemen!I am honour to stand here to deliver my speech .And my topic today is about future. As we all know, man‟s life is a process of growing up, actually I‟m standing here is a growth. If a person‟s life must constituted by various choices, then I grow up along with these choices. Once I hope I can study in a college in future, ho wever that‟s passed, as you know I come here, now I wonder what the future holds for me.When I come to this school, I told to myself: this my near futur e, all starts here. Following I will learn to become a man, a integr ated man, who has a fine body, can take on important task, has in dependent thought, an open mind, intensive thought, has the ability to judge right and wrong, has a perfect job. Once my teacher said :” you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forget which you sho uld lay out to people is your thought, not craft.” I will put my per sonality with my interest and ability into my study, during these pr ocess I will combine learning with doing. If I can achieve this “fut ure”, I think that I really grow up. And I deeply believe kindred,good-fellowship and love will perfection and happy in the future. How to say future? Maybe it‟s a nice wish. Lets make up our min ds, stick to it and surely well enjoy our life. We are on our wayLadies and gentlemen, dear friends! I am very glad to stand here and deliver a speech.2008 sees the joys and sorrows of China. The snow disaster ,the earthquake and the Olympics all happened in this particular year. We chinese had never suffered such disaters and held the Olympics for the first time. That was a big challenge for us. But the strong chinese nation would fight until he dropped! Just as the saying go es, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Hard work pa id off. The disasters has gone by and the Olympics has been a big hit throughout the world. Now I'm standing here to tell you that we're on our way to be great. No one can deny us the future. If winter has come, can spring be far behind? We stand on the land of snow,we hear the voice of hope!Thank you! We Are Family2008 is a special year for Beijing for the Olympic Games. It is a special year for me too. I watched 8 games. The Olympic Games l et me know, for all of the people in the world, we are family. In the 16 days, I saw different people from different countries. I h eard different languages in the world. I sat next to English, Americ an, Canadian and Korean when watching hockey games. I shouted “Go! Go! Go!” with Argentinian and Serbian when watching footba ll match. In the Olympic Park, Australian friends shared their small gifts with Russian, German, French and Chinese. Everybody from different countries smiled at each other. Everybody was friendly to each other in these 16 days. This is Olympic. It brings friendship, it brings peace.I will remember the Beijing Olympic Games in my life.In 2008, I understand, we are living in earth village.I believe, we are family of the world. My speech is over. Lecture ScriptsGlobal Citizenship Begins at HomeWhen I saw this title , I felt a little nervous, if I could expound this topic for you clearly, maybe my wisdom was enough to help me write a masterpiece in every field. Unfortunately , I cannot. And fortunately, in less than 3 minutes will you know my ideas.I think the most unbelievable news in the last century is we are genetically 99.9% the same. Do you feel a little excited, now? I did, when I first time heard it from the radio. And suddenly realized that we are born to be the sam e. This eye-catching news approved what we called “global village”, and then told us we are born with a “global citizenship” just like with the character. However, same to the character, global citizenship is not only accepted by oneself ,but also by others. As traditional Chinese saying goes, “thousands of miles should begin at first step”. Only if we have a good beginning at home — step first we firmly stepped, it would be easy for other global citizens to admit us .But you may feel a little bored to listen to my lecture and ask “what do you really want us to know?”So let’s pay attention to our motherland. China has set us good examples to favor the title “global citizenship begins at home”. More than a hundre d years ago, when the old Chinese government limited economic growth and lock his doors against the world. He missed the best opportunity to develop himself. He abandoned home, but was eager for an absolute global citizenship. He wanted to ignore the first step but jump far. Let alone other countries with an ulterior motive, I cannot agree. But now everything is changing. China is enjoying his broaden global citizenship in global affairs. Only when he is getting stronger himself, the global citizenship is truly owned by himself.Honor judges and dear friends, rem ember “global citizenship begins at home”, our dream should be that we keep on going to conform the changing world and keep our global citizenship worthy. As long as our dream outweighs our ability, the world, our country and ourselves will be forever young. That’s is our destiny. And this is our moment.Thank you for listening. Good night.演讲大赛英文演讲稿good afternoon,Ladies and gentlemen . The title of my speech is " The development of traditional culture " :The 21st century has started a new history . Great changes have taken place in the world because of the prosperous development of technology and science . Some of you might have noticed that more and more people around us have started to learn a second language besides English . But maybe you will ask me “Isn‟t it a good thing ?” No , absolutely not . It certainly meets the objective request of the economic globalization .While we accept western culture, some of us lost themselves in the …cultural sea‟. Chances are that we are likely to lose our own traditional cultures . So ,the cultural globalization which is caused by economic globalization may be harmful to our country‟s scientific development. As is well known to all , culture is the pillar of science .But there exist two phenomenon in the process of globation . One is some people called …Mr West ‟ 。
From made in China to created in ChinaOne in four computers in the world comes from China; but from each computer produced, China earns only what 10 apples are worth. I read this in People’ Daily not long ago. While the force of globalization has spread Chinese-made products all over the world and earned China the name ―world’s factory‖, China earns very little profits from this kind of low-cost production. It’s even been said that China has to export 800 million shirts to get an airplane. The problem is, China has involved in countless processes of production, but doesn’t necessarily have the intellectual property rights. If all we can be is part of the low-cost, labor-oriented production process, we’ll remain in a pass ive, disadvantaged position and gradually lose our competitive edge in the global arena. To develop China’s creative industry, transforming products from "made in China" to "created in China" has become one of China’s major tasks. This transformation will be no less like a marathon, requiring much effort especially that from Chinese enterprises, the major force in Chinese economy. Though there’ s no one in front leading us which direction to run, there’s much to learn from some Chinese enterprises that hav e already found the right strategies and are shining on the global stage. These strategies involve brand identity establishment, technological innovation and modern management system.Firstly, the brand that I mentioned above is an intangible yet most valuable asset to a company. It gains credibility from consumers, thus constituting the reason for consumers to buy habitually. Tong Ren Tang, the largest producer of traditional Chinese medicine, remains one of the oldest surviving brand names. The credibility that it gained through quality products has made its name known worldwide and maintains its recognized brand. The second strategy is innovation of technology, which helps enterprises gain its core competency. In the global era where technology emerges at a rapid speed, one has to adopt the latest technology, and also to compete for the speed of developing new ones. The success of Haier, the third largest household appliances manufacturer in the world, lies in its constant innovation. Over the past 16 years, Haier has invested a total of 7 billion RMB in technological development, using 6 percent of its income for scientificresearch and the development of new products. At present, Haier's development operational speed is turning out 1.3 new products a day, maintaining its upper-hand in the fierce competition. The third strategy is the establishment of modern management system. New Hope Group, the National Leading Enterprise for Agriculture, started from family-owned business. When the business was soaring and situation was changing, the family members had divergent views of management. To make sure of the development of their business, they decided to turn their company into a limited liability one, distributing property rights efficiently. Because of this, the company increased its competitiveness rapidly. Establishing a modern management system will lead to efficient levels of division of labor and efficient patterns in the business cycle. With brand identity, technology and flexibility, China’s creative industries will blossom and give China the cutting edge in the fierce global competition. One day, China will stand firm and proud, with national brands thriving on the global markets, and with millions of products tagged ―created in China‖, instead of ―made in China‖. Giving is Receiving-Personal Growth in Volunteer WorkLast summer, I volunteered to work as an English teacher in a primary school for children of migrant workers. To be accurate, I didn’t volunteer. I was dragged in. When my frie nds first hit upon the idea of this project, I was all against it: ―What? To spend my vacation standing in the heat, yelling at a bunch of nine-year-olds who couldn’t even speak proper Putonghua? After all, there’s no pay for my toil. No, I’m not going.‖ B ut my friends twisted my arms to have me join them.Unexpectedly, the first lesson I taught turned out a lesson for me. The moment I stepped into the shabby classroom, I was touched by the loud, respectful voices in unison: ―Good morning, teacher!‖ Instead of fooling around, the children were thirsty for knowledge and efficient in absorbing everything I was able to give them. I started to blame myself because I hadn’t even prepared for the class. During the break, I leaned over the squeaky desk, chatting wi th a sweaty boy in the front row: ―Without air-conditioning, it’s pretty hot here. Are you tired?‖―Not at all,‖ said he, shaking his head. ―It’s fine here. My Dad builds asphalt roads. That is really tiring and hot.‖As summer advanced, my enthusiasm as a teacher grew. I prepared my teaching carefully and even used some methods my teachers used. I organized many group activities to give the kids fun. Strangely enough, the heat was also becoming less and less unbearable.Soon, my one-month volunteer work came to an end. When I was leaving my last class, I turned back and saw smiling faces and waving hands. Never before had I ever had such a feeling of sadness, which was nevertheless mixed with a sense of enrichment, fulfillment and happiness. I was paid for my work, amply paid, not in terms of money, but something more valuable. My English was improved. I was able to teach it, although not very professional.I learned about the grassroots-level society. Inside myself a heart is growing, a heart that not only beats for myself, but cares for others as well. The volunteer work gave me a precious little chance to say thanks to people like the little boy’s father, who construct highways and undergrounds, build up modern skyscrapers, and make our cities more and more beautiful. To help the children with their English was all I could do at present to show my gratitude to these unsung heroes. The world may not have been fair to them, so people like me are obliged to do whatever we can to help make their life better. Whatever I do for them, however, I know it cannot be compared with what they have done to improve the quality of life in our cities.Ladies and gentlemen, now I realize that volunteering is not just a one-time personal experience. It should be a lifetime activity of everybody. Many of us are now offering our assistance to the needy and to each other. Our efforts have indeed made a difference. Whether we are helping children with their schooling, or caring for the elderly in nursing homes, or helping out with 2008 Beijing Olympics, we will not only contribute to the harmony of the world but also elevate ourselves. Emerson once said, ―It’s one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himsel f.‖ He was right.I hear that my university is going to organize another voluntary teaching program this summer. This time I won’t be dragged in. I will volunteer. Our Future: A Battle between Dreams and RealityGood afternoon, ladies and gentlemen:When I was in the primary school, I have a dream. I want to invent a device which could bring you from one place to another in no time at all. When I was in the secondary school, my dream was to study in my ideal university. And when eventually I got into the university, my dream was to graduate. How pathetic! When we grow up, we dream less and become more realistic. Why? Why do we have to change our dreams, so, so in order to let it be "fulfilled"? Why do we have to surrender to the so-called "reality"? What IS the reality actually?Ladies and gentlemen, the reality is not real. It is a barrier keeping us from all the possible fantasies. Flying, for example, had been a dream to mankind for thousands of years. A hundred years ago, "man could not fly" was still regarded as the "reality". Now if that was really the reality, what did the Wright brothers do? How did some of you get to Macau? Only when we believe that the reality is not real can we soar with our dreams.People say that our future is a battle between the reality and our dreams. And if, unfortunately, Mr. Reality wins this war, then I see no future of mankind at all. AIDS will never be curable as this IS the reality; People living in the undeveloped countries will suffer from starvation forever as this IS the reality;4)Disputes among different countries would never be settled as this misunderstandings and intolerance IS the reality.Ladies and gentlemen, how many of you have a dream of being able to make a lot of money? Please raise your hands. Oh, quite a number of you! Actually, ladies and gentlemen, this is not a dream, but a task. Every one of us has to make a living, right? Anyway I hope your task will be accomplished. How many of you think that you have already fulfilled your dream and that you don't dream anymore? Dear 5)adjudicators, what do you think? C.S. Lewis once said, "You are never too old to dream a new dream." So for our future, please dream and be unrealistic. Now that I am a university student, my goal is to graduate with excellences. But at the same time, I have adream deeply rooted in our future. One day, people living in the areas now 6)sweltering with the horror of wars will be able to sit with their families and enjoy their every moment. One day, people from the rich countries are willing to share what they have with those from the poor countries and those from the poor countries will eventually be able to make their own happy living themselves. One day, different cultures in this age of globalization will coexist with tolerance and the unfriendly confrontations among them will be 7)eliminated. One day, the globe will share the dream with me and we will all contribute to making our dream come true. One day, our dream will defeat the reality! Thank you very much. What would you do if you had only one day left to live?―What would you do if you had only one day left to live?‖I asked this question to my young students when teaching English this winter. What were their answers?―I would watch television!‖ the first answer. ―I would play with the computer!‖ the second one. ―I would play with computer TOO.‖ The girl finished her sentence perfectly with a serious smile. Indeed how cute and innocent that smile was, but how seriously my heart was hurt. I was too frightened to listen to more answers like that.Ten years ago, at their age, I had a different answer: I would spend the last day of my life gazing at the face of my dear grandmother until I inscribed every detail of it onto my mind. When grandmother was getting old and weak, my family bought her a telephone so I could save time and the trouble of traveling to her home by making phone calls instead. Later we bought her a television so she could watch modern dramas by herself. Then grandma must have been, we assumed, very contented and happy. But I never really knew how grandma felt. She silently passed away without a word one night. When I heard about her death, a chilling pain pierced my empty heart. The pain grew even sharper as I tried to remember in detail exactly how grandma looked and I failed completely! How could I remember? I hadnot visited her for ages—it seemed like a century! My memories of her dissolved into thin air and leaked away like water.Even though I have a telephone, can she hear me now?Even though I might be on television, can she see me now?Even though I have modern telecommunications, can she still communicate with me now? With all these ―tele‖s, I was powerless.Don’t people just love the word of ―tele‖, which means far away. Indeed this is how modern technology has changed our world. But please don’t forget this other word with ―tele‖: telepathy:which refers to human beings’ inborn ability to connect to our loved ones. Our minds are supposed to read each other’s minds; our hearts are supposed to feel each other’s hearts — and fulfill these without any forms of tool! But the moment I desperately struggled to remember grandmother’s face, the telepathy between her and me had shut down forever. With the help of modern technology, I killed our telepathy. This shall never happen again! The ―tele‖s are great inventions. But ―telepathy‖ gives them the w armth of a human face. Let’s harness the power of television to excite our kids to develop their telepathy with nature… so that they can read the secret language of flowers. Let’s make the telephone lines provoke us to preserve our telepathy with each other, so we can connect in a warm and feeling way. Let technology keep our ―telepathy‖ ALIVE! We need to wake up and make this happen.I told my grandma’s story to those young kids that day. They got very quiet. They asked me for a second chance to answer the question. They had come to a new understanding – that very moment they had made to me and to our future together, a dear promise.Thank you very much!。
Future is now(2003年CCTV杯全国英语演讲比赛稿)I could never forget the conversation with my close friend several years ago. When I was thinking how we can reward our parents in the future, she came up with “Let’s do it right now”.Let’s do it right now. I was de eply touched by this simple but profound sentence. And I suddenly realized how much we focus on the future rather than right now. I do hear people say “I will do this in the future” and “I will be happy in the future”. But the truth is , there’s no better time than right now. If not now, when? “Future”, how abstract the word is! What is future? When is future? As Forest Gump said “Life was like a box of chocolate, we’ll never know what we are going to get.” In fact, no one has a guarantee that he or she will be here tomorrow .Now is the only time we have , and the only time that we have any control over. So, treasure every moment that you have. And remember that time waits for no one.My dear friends, life is a journey, not a destination. Don’t wait until tomorr ow .Don’t let life slip though our fingers by living in the future. Future is now. Future depends on what we think and do now. Rather than rewarding our parents in the future, why don’t we love them from this moment. Instead of planning many things in the future, why don’t we do it right now. Rather than being happy tomorrow, why not be happy today.Tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift .That’s why we give it another name---“The Present”.。
Each year that passes seems to have its own character. Some leave us with a feeling ofsatisfaction , others are best forgotten.2009 was a difficult year for many, in particular those facingthe continuing effects of the economic downturn.I am sure that we have all been affected by events in Afghanistan and saddened by the casualties suffered by our forces serving there. Our thoughts go out to their relations and friends who haves hown immense dignity in the face of great personal loss. But, we can be proud of the positive contribution that our servicemen and women are making, inc onjunction with our allies.Well over 13,000 soldiers from the United Kingdom, and across the Commonwealth - Canada,Austr alia, New Zealand and Singapore - are currently serving in Afghanistan. The debt of gratitude owed to these young men and women, and to their predecessors, is indeedp rofound. It is 60 years since the Commonwealth was created and today, with more than a billion of itsmem bers under the age of 25, the organisation remains a strong and practical force for good. Recently I attended the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Trinidad and Tobagoand heard how important the Commonwealth is to young people.New communication technologies allow them to reach out to the wider world and share theirexperi ences and viewpoints. For many, the practical assistance and networks of theCommonwealth can give skills, lend advice and encourage enterprise. It is inspiring to learn of some of the work being done by these young people, who bring creativity and innovation to the challenges they face. The personal and living bond I have enjoyed with leaders, and with people the world over, hasalw ays been more important in promoting our unity than symbolism alone. It is important to keep discussing issues that concern us all - there can by no more valuable role fo rour family of nations. I have been closely associated with the Commonwealth through most of its existence. The Commonwealth is not an organisation with a mission. It is rather an opportunity for its people to work together to achieve practical solutions to problems. In many aspects of our lives, whether in sport, the environment, business or culture, theCommon wealth connection remains vivid and enriching. It is, in lots of ways, the face of the future. And with continuing support and dedication, I amconfi dent that this diverse Commonwealth of nations can strengthen the common bond thattranscends politics, religion, race and economic circumstances. We know that Christmas is a time for celebration and family reunions; but it is also a time to reflec ton what confronts those less fortunate than ourselves, at home and throughout the world. Christians are taught to love their neighbours, having compassion and concern, and being readyto undertake charity and voluntary work to ease the burden of deprivation and disadvantage. We may ourselves be confronted by a bewildering array of difficulties and challenges, but we must never cease to work for a better future for ourselves and for others.I wish you all, wherever you may be, a very happy Christmas.

Speech of Mu Jiawei, Northwest Normal UniversityUnity and Diversity -- Common Progress in Different Regions In recent years, the development of the Chinese economy has been incredibly fast, some might even call it miraculous. But behind the miracles lies a problem: the development is unbalanced in different regions.Under the strategy of the Chinese government, China has three major economic regions: the east, the middle and the west. With its advantageous position, the east is the fastest developing area, leaving the west far behind, and the middle somewhere in between. For instance, the GDP per capita in the east amounts to US$2000, while that of the west is only 40% of the east.Furthermore, the gap between the urban and the rural, according to the State Statistical Bureau, has widened to more than 10 years. There are people in the big cities with large houses, expensive cars, other luxuries and better opportunities. However, there are people in the countryside, living on meager food, without the security of health, education, and so on.This is the diversity of the Chinese economy. For the unity of the full national economic development, governments of all levels have decided on corresponding strategies, for example, the greater development of the western region, the continuing rise of the central China, and the faster development of the east. Specifically, within the west, provinces alike have established programs of development, with financial and technological aid of the central government, ma-ki-ng full use of the western natural resources. Such strategies have turned out to be remarkablysuccessful. It reminds me of the world. There are wealthy countries in North America and Europe; there are poor ones in Asia and Africa. The aid from the rich world is far from enough to remove poverty in the developing countries. Therefore, with the help of funds, technology, and management from wealthy countries, these developing countries now have the opportunity to establish their own right strategies of development, taking full advantage of their natural and human resources. If their strategies succeed, in the years to come, I hope to see such a world: everyone, white or black, brown or yellow, can stand side by side, equal, happy, and harmonious. There is diversity; there is unity.Speech of Li Mengxia, Harbin Engineering UniversityUnity and Diversity -- Diversity TalksA couple of days ago, I saw the newly enrolled freshmen in the military training under the glowing sun. They wear the same, move the same, eat the same, and sing together, they do everything under one same command without an exception. I could see sweet smiles on their faces though the heat of summer was melting them. Why? Because this is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity forthem to feel no different from others. No matter where you are from, rich or poor, boy or girl, you are part of this battalion; you are comparatively insignificant but absolutely irreplaceable. This is a force. It’s unity. We are the world because of unity. It enables the international co-operational manufacture by setting up unified standards for everything. A nail produced in China can be perfectly used in any corner of the world. Therefore, it is unity that leads world into a perfect harmony! However, don’t you think it’s a little bit boring with unity ruling the world only? What would you do if someone orders you to do whatever he does without allowing you to do what you really wa nt? Apparently, you’ll be going nuts, because you are not leading a life of your own. So, to us, diversity talks! Before I went to college, my dad asked me: son, did you think of being outstanding? If you want to be outstanding, you have to stand out, stand out of normal routine which other people consider the only way to success. But dad’s words went in one ear and out the other! I had no idea whether dad was right or wrong until the day I found I was no longer myself. I put myself in a jar full of people. I work when they work, I panic when they panic, and I waste time when they waste time. This is no laughing matter but a horrible disaster. Afterwards, I kept telling myself: I am a student, and I do what a student should do. This is our unity. But does this mean we have to sacrifice our diversity to save the orderly image of unity? Not exactly! Unity stops us getting into chaos while diversity makes life colorful. From then on, my long-covered specialty was evoked and set me on a special track to my dreams.I got back what I had lost. It’s a great feeling that you realize you still have the ability to surprise yourself: I found a part-time job as an oral-English teacher in a private school. I love English and work joyfully though my major has nothing to do with English at all. I stood out and made a difference. I found “I am what I am, and I am happy to be me.”Ladies and gentlemen, one color is dull, but the combination of 7 colors is rainbow. Remember that you are no different, andthis is how you get confident; engrave it in your heart that you are unique, and this is how you get successful! Thank you!cctv杯全国英语演讲稿 [篇2]Dear teachers, good afternoon!I am Erica. I would like to tell you my own story.During the National Day my family went out for dinner. We went downstairs by lift, but after 1 minute the lift stopped suddenly, so we were trapped in it.“I am scared, Mum!” I shouted, and my younger sister also cried. Dad called 110 for help. The policewoman was very kind and said “take it easy, the firefighter will come in 10 minutes.”At the same time Mum let me sing a song with my sister. And we felt better while singing the ABC song.Five minutes later, the door was opened by the firefighter.“Dad, look! firefighters!” I shouted excitedly.“Don’t worry, you are safe now.” the firefighter said to me like a hero. The firefighter saved us and I was deeply touched. Now I want to be a hero, because I want to help more people! That’s my story, thanks for your time.。
Goodafternoon, ladies and gentlemen,My name is__________,coming from school of Chengdu xishuexperimental am very glad to give my speech to you here, the topic of my speech is “Just Do It”.”Just do it!”I think everybody is familiar to this sentense about Nike, a very famous company of shoes. In my opinion, it means that just do it if you want. Today I’m here, just want to do what I want to do, and just have a try.Just do it if you want.In fact, we have many things to do in a day, in a year and in all our lives, itdepends on your choices .Just do it if you like.I was attracted by English on my first sight in primary school. My English teacher always had the class interesting and she has a nice voice,it’s comfortable when I heard her singing songs. As the time flew I knew more English songs .Just do it no matter whether you can be successful. When I asked others that why they didn’t join in the competition, was it th e reason that they didn’t like English or they had no time. To my surprise, they almost gave me the same answer, “even though I couldn’t get a rank in it, I needn’t to do that, what’s more, I didn’t want to lose my face because of failed.”I really can’t believe that in their dictionary there is only one word ‘success’. Although I don’t know whether I can enter the final fighting or not, and maybe I will be outof thecompetition after this speech, I still come here, just do it, no matter how far I can walk.So as long as you want and like, just do it by heart, no matter whether you can succeed or be failed. That’s all,Thank you! Self-confidence is the mother of successHi, this is SunYang, I come from the college of food science. I have always been an outgoing and curious person and enjoy many thing, in particular reading, swimming and playing basketball with my friends. Thought I have many interests, english is what I like the most. I want to keep on learning new things to improvemyself and broaden my horizons. I am very greatful for the chance you give to me to speak about myself in this special occasion. I hope everybody has a good and productive time here. Today the speech I want to give you is Self-confidence is the mother of successAs is known to us all, a famous proverb says “failure is the mother of success”. Yes , it’s true. History informs us that stories of successare also stories of great failure. As a matter of fact. There are many factors that can contribute to a preson’s success in life. Today I will give you a new idea―self-confidence is the mother of success. Success is getting up one more time than you fall down. But when failures knocks you down. Will you have the confidence to get up?So self-confidence is essential to success .Self-confidence means the firm belief that you can do things well. It is believedto be the first secret of success. If you want to succeed in doing anything, you must have confidence in your abilities. and Ideeply aware that nothing can defeat a person who full of confidence.Self-confidence gives you light when you are in dark, and gives you encouragement when you are disappointed. It is self-confidence that inspires you to cope with any hard task. With self-confidence, you believe that you can and will succeed, and this gives you the courage to try new things. Some people find most of thethings impossible, saying, “It is beyond my ability to do the task.” or “I am not fit for it.” these are only lame excuses. When our heart is void of self-confidence, every hope is gone, we will always living in the moments of fear and thoughtless. So ladies and gentlemen do you haveit in you? If you think you don’t, boost up youself as your mind is your greatest mentor. If you have a goal to pass CET 4 and CET 6 college English exam easily with high marks, just believe in yourself. Yes you canIf you want to be a great man in the future and never let your parent down. Just believe in yourself. Yes you canIf you have a dream that conqur English to make China stronger. Just believe in youself. Yes you can.Thank you so much for your listening. In my elementary school years, I was once detained in the teacher’s office for some “serious moral misconduct”, sending my seatmate home everyday and being a very close friend.Well, you may wonder, so what? The only problem is that she is a girl. And to make things worse, she happened to be very charming by children’s standard that my teacher reprimanded me severely for being over-enthusiastic, and maintained that I should stay away from her and concentrate on truly serious matters. With overdue respect to my teacher’s authority, I kept silent as if there were really something of an item going on between us. From then on, we were separated to sit in the diagonal corners of the classroom and were too embarrassed to speak to each other anymore. Not only did I lose one of my best friends to my silence, but also my teacher’s trust to my cowardly obedient manner. When I look back on my childhood experience, I was astonished by how the “matured” adults misinterpreted thechildren’s pure friendship. As if, there’s no such thing as sincerity between the children through the eyes of grown-ups. While at the same time, I was more shocked by the children’s frightfulness in voicing the honest answers and stating the true circumstances. And the relationship between the teachers and the students become antagonized and precariously balanced.Education, we say, is about communication. It’s a two-way street. The students should learn to be brave enough to speak up, at least once in a while.I do wish I could come back to my childhood and make my voice heard, whispering to that little boy to speak up and telling the teacher that innocence really is something worth holding fast to.Imagine a world in which Martin Luther King had failed to speak out against oppressive racism. How different ourworld would be like today? For centuries, people and countries have been fighting to make their voices heard. And today, freedom of speech is a notion which is deeply ingrained upon people’s mind. It is so important that some nations have even enshrined it in their constitutions. But why, we might ask, do people consider the right to make their voices heard to be so important? And what is so important about speaking out anyway?Well, it is the nature of man to enquire into things and to strive for self-improvement. Often situations arise when we are compelled to speak up for reform. However, if people are reluctant to express your opinions due to, for example, laziness, restrictions and fear, then much that needs reform will remain unchanged. Human progress depends upon the change and free flow of ideas whether in spoken or written form. But most of the time, people are reluctant to speak up. And for example, many times people just because of fear are unwilling to stand up and say the things they want. And built upon the sufferings of those who are brave enough to fight for it, freedom of speech is actually the things that we’ve always fighted. I should say that, conclude my speech by reminding all of you that, we should use our voices and to speak out with passion and conviction, for that is right and our right. Because I have to remind you that we should also use our ears to listen, with respect and understanding, for that is our duty.“Diane, can you speak a little louder, p lease?” That’s what my teacher said to me on the first day of school. I almost burst into tears as so many students turned to watch me sitting down in the corner that belonged to me. After school, my teacher found me, smiling, she said: “You don’thave to be afraid of anyone. People just want to know about you so the next time just let them hear what you have to say. After so many years, I am still a shy person as I was fifteen years ago but the difference is I am not any more afraid of letting people know about me, hear about my ideas.People, as we are, are never isolated individuals. We all live on the planet where lives all the other people as well. So keeping oneself excluded would never work, or else we would always be trapped in that little corner of ours. We have to step into the world as we are in fact part of it.I’ve always remembered what Simba said to her daughter: we are one. So what’s to be afraid of? Since human beings are virtually linked souls. Just tell others what we really think, how we really feel. Even if we do have the wrong idea, we will have the chance to correct our mistakes. And ifwe don’t, it’s all right. But if we never spoke our mind, we will never know what we are missing out in this world. We will never know what we can actually make of ourselves. And we will never know what is needed to live a life with other people. When there is giving, there is receiving. That’s how the communication circle works. We are all very blessed to have so many people hear our voice. So don’t refuse the blessing for life is based on it. Just remember when the world knows more about us, we know more about the world. So today, can you hear my voice?”What am I doing now? I’m using speech to communicate with you. I’m making my voice heard. Yesterday I told my parents I was nervous to death to come to this competition today. I couldn’t sleep.I couldn’t eat. I constantly have headaches and diarrhea. Honestly, I haven’t been soout of place and physically sick in my entire life. Instead of saying kind words to calm me down, he said, “Do you know thatcompanies and industries has spent thousands of dollars just to let their advertisement show on the TV screen for less than ten seconds and you have got yourself an opportunity to make your voice heard in front of millions. How unique is thischance?” Suddenly I realized I have to seize this precious opportunity to make myself, my voice heard. People throughout the world, people throughout history have used various ways to communicate, and more importantly to make their voices heard. William Shakespeare use his sonnets to express emotions and communicate with millions in centuries. Director Zhang Yimou use movies to express his thoughts and ideas withaudiences around the world. And the representatives of the Six Party Talks use their wisdom to negotiate. They have made their voice heard. Today is my turn. I’m going to seize this opportunity and I have realized from them to myself, making your voice heard is truly a universal pursuit to all mankind. I was kicking andscreaming to have to go on this stage. Now I’m reluctant to leave this stage. Making yourself, your voice heard is truly and very important thing for every one of us.。

LET MY SPEECH BE AN OVERTURE TO THE GRAND SYMPHONY OF MAN AND ANTURE Good afternoon,Ladies and Gentlemen:When the topic “people and nature” first caught my eye,I was reminded of a story about myself and my violin。
I began learning to play the violin when I was eight years old。
Atfirst,it was a very hard thing for me。
After my continued efforts,I was able to play a lot of musical pieces very soon。
I felt so proud of myself that I began to behave arrogantly。
My violin teacher noticed this and told me: “To be a good violin player, you should first of all love and respect your violin。
You should obey the rules of playing it so as to make harmonious melodies。
Remember, play theviolin not only with your hands, but also with your heart and soul。
”Ladies and gentlemen,I believe that nature is to people what my violinis to me。

Half a minute, thirty seconds, one of us die from suicide. Suicide has become the primary death cause among people 15-34 years old in China. One million people commit suicide worldwide each year, and 30 percent of those are from china.
Ladies and gentlemen, have you ever thought about why so many people choose suicide to end

Those people who commit suicide mainly suffer psychological problems which cause them
anxiety, depression, mental disorder or even suicide. Therefore, to be healthy psychologically is
much more important than to be healthy physically. How to maintain psychological health, we
may resort to culture.
When I was a very little boy, I was so innocent to believe that man could have immortal life.
When I grew up, I realized man definitely will die one day. It’s just a matter of time. When I

If you die, there is nothing but grave.
The essence of our culture lies in its language which makes people how to talk, how to think, how to work. Through language, we maintain the correct values and worldview which is the key point for our mental health.
