“A day at shops can help you live longer, and surprisingly, the advantages are actually greater for men,” says a study group from Taiwan.
The study even suggests that shopping regularly is better than going to the gym. The study suggests that seeing friends and just people-watching can get rid of loneliness and improve psychological health. It looked at about 1,850 people aged 65 and over living alone at home in Taiwan. These people were asked ① .
The researches studied how long each of these people lived by following the national death information between 1999 and 2008.
They found those who shopped daily lived longer than those who shopped less, with thinking of people’s physical or other health problems. By comparing with those who didn’t shop regularly, they found that older men who often went out to the shops had the best life record, with 28% down in their chances of dying, while older women saw a bit fewer advantages with 23%down in dying.
