Because the NBG-12LX is addressable, the control pan el can display the exact location of the activated man ual station. This leads fire personnel quickly to the location of the alarm.Features•Maintenance personnel can open station for inspection and address setting without causing an alarm condition.•Built-in bicolor LED, which is visible through the handle of the station, flashes in normal operation and latches steady red when in alarm.•Handle latches in down position and the word “ACTIVA TED”appears to clearly indicate the station has been operated.•Captive screw terminals wire-ready for easy connection to SLC loop (accepts up to 12 AWG/3.25 mm² wire).•Can be surface moun ted (with SB-10 or SB-I/O) or semi-flush moun ted. Semi-flush moun t to a stan dard sin gle-gang, double-gang, or 4" (10.16 cm) square electrical box.•Smooth dual-action design.•Meets ADAAG controls and operating mechanisms guide-lin es (Section 4.1.3[13]); meets ADA requiremen t for 5 lb.maximum activation force.•Highly visible.•Attractive shape and textured finish.•Key reset.•Includes Braille text on station handle.•Optional trim ring (BG12TR).•Meets UL 38, Stan dard for Man ually Actuated Sign alin g Boxes.•Up to 99 NBG-12LX station s per loop on CLIP protocol loops.•Up to 159 NBG-12LX stations per loop on FlashScan® pro-tocol loops.•Dual-color LED bli ks gree to i dicate ormal o FlashScan® systems.ConstructionShell, door, and handle are molded of durable polycarbonate material with a textured finish.Specifications•Shipping Weight: 9.6 oz. (272.15 g)•Normal operating voltage: 24 VDC.•Maximum SLC loop voltage: 28.0 VDC.•Maximum SLC standby current: 375 A.•Maximum SLC alarm current: 5 mA.•Temperature Range: 32°F to 120°F (0°C to 49°C)•Relative Humidity: 10% to 93% (noncondensing)•For use indoors in a dry locationInstallationThe NBG-12LX will mount semi-flush into a single-gang, dou-ble-gan g, or stan dard 4" (10.16 cm) square electrical outlet box, or will surface mount to the model SB-10 or SB-I/O sur-face backbox. If the NBG-12LX is being semi-flush mounted, then the option al trim rin g (BG12TR) may be used. The BG12TR is usually n eeded for semi-flush moun tin g with 4"(10.16 cm) or double-gang boxes (not with single-gang boxes).OperationPushing in, then pulling down on the handle causes it to latch in the down/activated position. Once latched, the word “ACTI-VATED” (in bright yellow) appears at the top of the han dle, while a portion of the handle protrudes from the bottom of the station. To reset the station, simply unlock the station with the key and pull the door open. This action resets the handle; clos-ing the door automatically resets the switch. Each man ual station , on comman d from the con trol pan el,sends data to the panel representing the state of the manual switch. Two rotary decimal switches allow address settings (1 – 159 on FlashScan® systems, 1 – 99 on CLIP systems).Architectural/Engineering SpecificationsMan ual Fire Alarm Station s shall be n on -coded, with a key-operated reset lock in order that they may be tested, and so designed that after actual Emergency Operation, they cannot be restored to normal except by use of a key. The visible red light flashes an “SOS” signal: three (3) short flashes, three (3) long flashes, three (3) short flashes.8A Thread the plastic sleeve onto the stop bonnet until it is snug (hand tight only; do not use pliers or a wrench).BPlace the metal control stop cap over the plastic sleeve and using the palm of the hand, push or “pop” the cap over the fingers of the sleeve. The cap should spin freely on the insert.CTo remove vandal resistant stop cap — Using a large flat screwdriver, gently lift the cap from the control stop as follows. Insert the screwdriver blade between the bottom edge of the cap and the flat surface of the control stop body. Using the screwdriver as a lever, push the screwdriver handle straight back toward the wall. Gently lift the cap from the sleeve. It may be necessary to work the screwdriver around the diameter of the cap to further lift the cap from the sleeve.DOnce the cap has been lifted away from the control stop, grasp the cap and pull it off the sleeve.A Adjust control stop to meet the flow rate required for propercleansing of the fixture. 1.9kW Single-Phase Switched Automatic Transfer Switch PDU, 2 120V L5-20P / 5-20P Inputs, 16 5-15/20R Outputs, 1U, TAAMODEL NUMBER:PDUMH20ATNETDescriptionThis Switched Automatic Transfer Switch / ATS PDU provides a redundant power option for single-corded network devices. Dual input cords support separate connection to primary and secondary power sources. The ATS will normally maintain continuous output to all outlets as derived from the primary input cable. If the primary power source becomes unstable or fails altogether, the ATS will switch over to the secondary power source until the primary input is restored and stable. The Java-free LX Platform HTML5-based network interface enables full remote access for PDU status monitoring and email notifications via secure web browser, SNMP, telnet or SSH. It supports 10/100 Mbps auto-sensing for optimum communication with an Ethernet network. Optional EnviroSense2 modules (sold separately) provide a variety of environmental monitoring capabilities. Protocols supported include HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMPv1, SNMPv2, SNMPv3, telnet, SSH, FTP, DHCP and NTP. Switched PDU features include individually controllable output receptacles and built-in network interface. Super-fast switchover between primary and secondary power sources occurs within milliseconds. ATS functionality is supported by any two compatible AC power sources, regardless of phase angle, to support a variety of advanced redundant power networking applications. Enables fault tolerant hot-swappable UPS protection when used with a single UPS and fully redundant UPS protection when each cord is connected to a separate UPS system. In a two-UPS environment, the primary input cable must be supported by a full time sine wave UPS with zero transfer time. The SmartOnline® series is highly recommended for use as the primary UPS in a two-UPS application. ATS configurations utilizing separate mains circuits, backup generators and even separate utility power grid feeds are fully supported. On-board ATS processor constantly evaluates power quality on both input sources to prevent transfer to the secondary source when unavailable or of lower quality than the primary source. Front input LEDs display primary or secondary power availability.Features20A 120V Power Distribution Unit (PDU) with LX Platform network interface, Auto-Transfer Switch (ATS) and Switched outlets (Agency de-rated to 16A)qProvides a redundant A/B power option for non-redundant networking equipment with a single input power cordqSwitched PDU features enable programmable or real-time power control of individual outlets via built-in network interfaceqDigital display continuously reports total output power consumption in ampsq16 switched NEMA 5-15/20R outletsq1U horizontal rack-mount form factor; 14.5 in. / 36.8 cm depthq Highlights1.9kW 120V ATS / SwitchedPDU, Single phase 20A 120VqEnables redundant A/B poweroption for single-corded network devicesqSeparate primary & secondaryinputs connect to any twocompatible power sourcesq1U horizontal rackmount; 2 L5-20P / 5-20P inputs; 16 5-15/20R outletsqPre-installed WEBCARDLX with latest version of PADM20 for IP-based Auto Probe featureqPackage IncludesATS / Switched PDU withattached L5-20P input powercordqDetachable C19 to NEMA L5-20P 12 ft/3.6m secondary inputcordqTwo NEMA L5-20R to NEMA 5-20P plug adaptersqInstallable 1U mountingbracketsqUser manual with warrantyinformationqSpecificationsSet of two 12 ft. / 3.6m NEMA L5-20P input cables with set of two 5-20P adapters support connection to separate PRIMARY and SECONDARY inputsqATS circuits normally maintain output sourced from the primary input cable; As primary input power fails or becomes unstable, the ATS will switch to maintain output sourced from the secondary input cable until power on the primary input is restored and stableqATS configurations enable fault-tolerant, hot-swappable UPS protection when used with a single UPS and fully redundant UPS protection when each cord is connected to a separate UPS system (in a two-UPS environment, the primary input cable must be supported by an online UPS with zero transfer time similar to SmartOnline series)qAdvanced ATS configurations utilizing separate mains circuits, backup generators and even separate out of phase utility power grid feeds are fully supportedqOn-board ATS processor constantly evaluates power quality on both inputs to prevent transfer to the secondary source when unavailable or of lower quality than the primary sourceqSuper-fast switchover between primary and secondary power sources occurs in 2-7 milliseconds q Pre-installed WEBCARDLX with the latest version of PowerAlert Device Manager firmware (PADM20)provides enhanced remote management capabilitiesqPADM20 and PowerAlert Element Manager (PAEM) form a powerful tool for expanding maintenance functions in large installations, including firmware update checks and backup and restoration of device configurationsqIP-based Auto Probe detects lost connectivity and restores service autonomouslyq Optional EnviroSense2 modules (sold separately) provide a variety of environmental monitoring capabilitiesqOutlets are factory programmed for sequential turn-on at 250 millisecond intervals as the PDU is first energizedqFront panel LEDs confirm power availability on both input linesq Compliant with the Federal Trade Agreements Act (TAA) for GSA Schedule purchasesq© 2023 Eaton. LINK 2 SeriesDESCRIPTIONThe LinkStation is a high speed intelligent microprocessor device used for industrial process control applications. It provides a color LCD touch screen interface for LINK control system ing the Windows based graphical software pack-age Drive System Designer (DSD) and appropriate LinkCards, you can configure the L5392 for line sequencing, process control functions, such as draw and loadcell control, and direct control of all motor drive controllers connected to the same LINK control network.NOTE. You must use DSD or ConfigEd version 5 or greater to configure this unit. This module is not compatible with earlier versions. The screen is set up in a six band format, where each band can be software configured with any of the 'LinkStation' blocks available in DSD. These blocks include meters, potentiometers, combination pot-meters, annunciators, pushbuttons and more. The L5392 supports multi-paging. Using the appro-priate default configuration in DSD, you can pro-gram them to display multiple pages in the standard six band format. Special page handlers and two dedicated buttons allow the user to scroll up and down between pages. The L5392 has four slots for adding various LinkCards. An L5311 RTN LinkCard is required witheach unit to communicate with the standard acrylic fiber LINK network and is usually fitted in the leftmost slot. Other LinkCards include analog and digital I/O, DeviceNet, Profibus and more. Detailed information on these LinkCards may be found in individual datasheets. A LinkCard may be fitted in any slot; the site mapping is done in software by the user.EMI shields in the form of blank LinkCards fill the remaining unused slots (see the REAR VIEW drawing on page 4).This equipment accepts supply power that can be a shock hazard and can cause injury or death.Neverinstall or wire any electrical equipment without first isolating all incoming and outgoing power supplies.L5392 Color LinkStationFigure 1 - The LinkStationFigure 2 - LinkStation Panel Cutout(all dimensions in mm)Figure 3 - Fiber Optic Transmission Range SettingsSwitch Position1000 micron plastic cablecenter (low)0 to 20m (0 to 66ft)left (medium)20 to 40m (66 to 132ft)right (high)40 to 60m (132 to 196ft)INSTALLATIONMountingThe cutout for through the panel mounting is shown in Figure 2. For convenience, the inner edge of the mount-ing bracket can be used as a cutout template. The L5392 mounts through the panel with the panel sandwiched between it and the mounting bracket, as shown in the SIDE VIEWsketch on page 4. Use the four nuts supplied in a separate plastic bag to fasten the unit to your panel. You can use theincluded fastening tool or a size M3hex key to tighten the nuts. The L5392will fit into an existing L5102 Link op station cutoutNOTE. Be certain that the L5392 isproperly ventilated to ensure that it does notexceed its temperature rating, listed in the Technical Specifications section.WiringThe L5392 accepts an 85 to 265 VAC, 50/60 Hz supply. It is designed for a standard three-wire AC supply connection (LINE, NEUTRAL and GROUND). Refer to the Technical Specifications section below for wire sizes.NOTE. Installation of this equipment must comply with all applicable national and local electrical codes. Be certain to ground the case by tying the unit’s grounding stud to a suitable ground point using the included star washer and nut.The fiber optic terminals on the L5311 acrylic RTN LinkCard accept only Thomas and Betts (T&B) connectors. If you are replacing older model LINK operator stations, you will not need to re-terminate existing cable since the unit's fiber optic terminals are identical to those on first generation LINK products. Otherwise, 1000 micron diameter polypropylene fiber optic cable is recommended. You do not need special cutting and polishing tools to terminate this cable to T&B connectors. You can connect the unit to a LINK fiber optic network as a simple, tapped or redundant ring. Refer to the LINK Overview Manual (HA350678) for a discussion of LINK network topologies. Each transmitter has an adjustable transmission range (see the table in Figure 3).CautionDo not operate the unit without the LinkStation cover. It is a functional element of the LinkStation without which the module will not operate satisfactorily.CautionDo not operate the unit without the EMI shields (blank LinkCards) fitted in unused slots.SETUP & TROUBLESHOOTINGApply power once you have fully wired the unit. If the unit has a configuration pre-installed in its memory, the LINK network is established and all LINK devices on the network are functional, the LCD screen should light up.If the display does not power up, connect the serial port on a personal computer running DSD or ConfigEdversion 5 or higher, to the module’s RTNX port located on the back of the unit. Poll the module with the GET INFO function to identify the state. Or, check the status display on the back of the unit. Each number or letter indicates a different error. Use the table below to identify the error and correct the problem.NOTE. All LINK2 modules operate in either a “boot” or a “run” state. The decimal point in thestatus display differentiates between the two. If the decimal is on, then the module is in boot mode;if off, it is in run mode. A blinking status number— shown below with an asterisk (*)— indicatesthat the module is not running its configuration.Status Display c odesBOOT CODESCode Status Meaning/Action1.*Halted DSD/ConfigEd requested boot mode or rear cover is off.Replace rear cover or restart the module.2.*No Config Flash memory is empty, or persistents were invalid.Reinstall the configuration.5.*Self-Test-Failure One or more self tests failed. Now, WORDS AND THEIR STORIES, a VOA Special English program about American expressions. I'm Rich Kleinfeldt with expressions made using the word hold.
"Can't hold a candle to" is a popular expression. It is from the time before electricity, when people used candles for light. Someone who lived in a big house would have a servant light his way by holding a candle. The expression meant that the person who cannot hold a candle to you is not fit even to be your servant. Now, it means such a person cannot compare or compete. In the following song, singer Dolly Parton tells her new love that her old flames, her old lovers, cannot compare with him.

Another expression is "hold your tongue." It means to be still and not talk. "Hold your tongue" is not something you would tell a friend. But a parent or teacher might use the expression to quiet a noisy child.
Dolly Parton arrives at the Los Angelespremiere of her movie "Joyful Noise"
"Hold out" is an expression one hears often in sports reports and labor news. It means to refuse to play or work. Professional football and baseball players hold out if their team refuses to pay them what they think they are worth. Members of labor unions hold out and refuse to work until they get the work agreement they want.
The expression "hold up" has several different meanings. One is a robbery. A man with a gun may say, "This is a hold up. Give me your money." Another meaning is to delay. A driver late for work may tell his boss, "I was held up by heavy traffic." Someone who was robbed on the way to work might say, "Sorry, boss, I was held up by a hold up."
Still another meaning of the expression is for a story to be considered true after an
investigation. The same driver late for work could say, "My boss did not believe a hold up held me up. But the police confirmed what I said so my story held up."
"Hold on" is another expression. Often it means wait or stop. As you leave for school, your brother may say, "Hold on, you forgot your book."
Hold on is used to ask a telephone caller to wait and not hang up his telephone. If you call a library to ask for a book, the librarian might say, "Hold on while I look for it."
Our final expression is "hold the line." That means to keep a problem or situation from getting worse, to hold steady. For example, the president may say he will hold the line on taxes. He means there will be no increase in taxes. Now, I must hold the line on this program.
I have no more time left today.
