没有无用的发明作文800字英文回答:There are no useless inventions, because every invention, no matter how seemingly trivial, has the potential to contribute to the progress of human civilization. Even the most seemingly insignificant inventions can have far-reaching consequences, leading to unexpected advancements in other fields and ultimately improving our lives. The invention of the wheel, for example, which may seem like a simple and mundane device, revolutionized transportation and warfare, enabling humans to travel and conquer vast distances. The printing press, another seemingly simple invention, democratized knowledge and paved the way for the dissemination of ideas, leading to the Renaissance and the Enlightenment.Even inventions that appear to be impractical orwhimsical can have unexpected benefits. The Hula Hoop, for instance, was initially marketed as a children's toy but later found applications in fitness and dance. The Post-it Note, another seemingly simple invention, has become indispensable in offices and homes worldwide. In the realm of science, many inventions that were initially dismissed as useless have later become essential tools for groundbreaking discoveries. The laser, for example, was once considered a scientific curiosity but has since found applications in countless fields, from telecommunications to medicine. The transistor, another seemingly insignificant invention, is the cornerstone of modern electronics and has enabled the development of computers and countless other technologies.Furthermore, the process of invention itself is valuable, regardless of the outcome. Even if an invention does not achieve its intended purpose, it can still lead to new insights and inspire future breakthroughs. The pursuit of invention encourages creativity, problem-solving, and the exploration of new possibilities. It is important to remember that the value of an invention is not always immediately apparent. Manyinventions that are initially met with skepticism and derision later become indispensable parts of our lives. The microwave oven, for example, was once considered a luxury item but has now become a staple in kitchens around the world. The internet, another invention that was once seenas a niche technology, has transformed communication, commerce, and education, connecting people and information on a global scale. In conclusion, there is no such thing as a useless invention. Every invention, no matter how seemingly trivial, has the potential to contribute to human progress and improve our lives. The pursuit of invention is a valuable endeavor that encourages creativity, innovation, and the exploration of new possibilities.中文回答:世界上不存在无用的发明,因为每项发明,无论多么微不足道,都有可能为人类文明的进步做出贡献。

Then choose the best answer to each question that follows.(1) Johnny Appleseed, one of the gentlest and most beloved of American folk heroes, was born in 1774 in Leominster, Massachusetts. (2) His real name was John Chapman. (3) Chapman’s early life was full of misfortune. (4) First, his father left home to fight in the Revolutionary War. (5) Then John’s mother and baby brother died before John’s second birthday. (6) However, John’s fortunes improved when his father returned and remarried, and by the time John was in his teens, he had ten brothers and sisters.(7) As a young man, John began traveling west on foot, stopping to clear land and plant the apple seeds he always carried with him. (8) Settlers who followed John’s path were delighted to find young apple orchards dotting the landscape.(9) John was a friendly fellow who often stopped to visit with families along his way, entertaining them with stories of his travels. (10) Tales of his exploits followed him through Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana. (11) Many of the stories were true. (12) For instance, John really did travel barefoot through the snow, lived on the friendliest of terms with Indian tribes, and refused to shoot any animal. (13) Other tales about John, however, were exaggerations. (14) Settlers said, for example, that he slept in the treetops and talked to the birds or that he had once been carried off by a giant eagle. (15) Johnny Appleseed never stopped traveling until his death in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1845.1) Sentence 1 is a statement of_______.A. factB. opinionC. fact and opinion2) The details in sentences 4 and 5 support the point or points in _______.A. sentence 1B. sentence 2C. sentence 3D. sentence 63) The relationship between sentences 3 and 6 is one of _______.A. contrastB. additionC. cause and effectD. comparison4) We can conclude that Johnny Appleseed _______.A. provided apples for numerous settlersB. was quickly forgotten by the settlersC. grew wealthy by selling his apple treesD. left home because of problems with his family5) The passage suggests that Johnny Appleseed _______.A. grew weary of travelingB. had great respect for other people and animalsC. lived a very short but rich lifeD. planted many trees other than apple trees6) The tone of the passage is _______.A. pessimisticB. bitter and impassionedC. amused and excitedD. straightforward with a touch of admiration7) Which is the most appropriate title for this selection?A. The Planting of American Apple OrchardsB. Folk Heroes of AmericaC. Settlers Recall Johnny AppleseedD. The Life and Legend of John Chapman5. Read the passage below. Then choose the best answer to each question that follows.(1) Television has transformed politics in the United States by changing the way in which information is disseminated, by altering political campaigns, and by changing citizens’ patterns of response to politics. (2) By giving citizens independent access to the candidates, television diminished the role of the political party in the selection of the major party candidates. (3) By centering politics on the person of the candidate, television accelerated the citizens’ focus on character rather than issues.(4) Television has altered the forms of political communication as well. (5) The messages on which most of us rely are briefer than they once were. (6) The stump speech, a political speech given by traveling politicians and lasting 11/2 to 2 hours, which characterized nineteenth-century political discourse, has given way to the 30-second advertisement and the 10-second “sound bite” in broadcast news. (7) Increasingly the audience for speeches is not that standing in front of the politician but rather the viewing audience who will hear and see a snippet of the speech on the news.(8) In these abbreviated forms, much of what constituted the traditional political discourse of earlier ages has been lost. (9) In 15 or 30 seconds, a speaker cannot establish the historical context that shaped the issue in question, cannot detail the probable causes of the problem, and cannot examine alternative proposals to argue that one is preferable to others. (10) In snippets, politicians assert but do not argue.(11) Because television is an intimate medium, speaking through it requires a changed political style that was more conversational, personal, and visual than that of the old-style stump speech. (12) Reliance on television means that increasingly our political world contains memorable pictures rather than memorable words. (13) Schools teach us to analyze words and print. (14) However, in a world in which politics is increasingly visual, informed citizenship requires a new set of skills.(15) Recognizing the power of television’s pictures, politicians craft televisual, staged events, called pseudo-event, designed to attract media coverage. (16) Much of the political activity we see on television news has been crafted by politicians, their speechwriters, and their public relations advisers for televised consumption. (17) Sound bites in news and answers to questions in debates increasingly sound like advertisements.1) What is the main idea of the passage?A. Citizens in the United States are now more informed about political issue because of television coverage.B. Citizens in the United States prefer to see politicians on television instead of in person.C. Politics in the United States has become substantially more controversial since the introduction of television.D. Politics in the United States has been significantly changed by television.2) The word “disseminated” in sentence 1 is closest in meaning to_______.A. analyzedB. discussedC. spreadD. stored3) It can be inferred that before the introduction of television, political parties _______.A. had more influence over the selection of political candidatesB. spent more money to promote their political candidatesC. attracted more membersD. received more money4) The author mentions the “stump speech” in sentence 6 as an example of _______.A. an event created by politicians to attract media attentionB. an interactive discussion between two politiciansC. a kind of political presentation typical of the nineteenth centuryD. a style of speech common to televised political events5) The word “that” in sentence 7 refers to _______.A. audienceB. broadcast newsC. politicianD. advertisement6) According to the passage, as compared with televised speeches, traditional political discourse was more successful at _______.A. allowing news coverage of political candidatesB. placing political issues within a historical contextC. making politics seem more intimate to citizensD. providing detailed information about a candidate’s private behavior7) The author states that “politicians assert but do not argue” in sentence 9 in order to suggest that politicians _______.A. make claims without providing reasons for the claimsB. take stronger positions on issues than in the pastC. enjoy explaining the issue to broadcastersD. dislike having to explain their own positions on issues to citizens8) The purpose of paragraph 4 is to suggest that_______.A. politicians will need to learn to become more personal when meeting citizensB. politicians who are considered very attractive are favored by citizens over politicians who are less attractiveC. citizens tend to favor a politician who analyzed the issue over one who did notD. citizens will need to learn how to evaluate visual political images in order to become better informed9) Which of the following statements is supported by the passage?A. Citizens today are less informed about a politician’s character than in the past.D. Political speeches today focus more on details about issues than in the past.Part III Read and QuestionIn this part, you will read about related or contradictory views on a variety of issues. You will be required to identify the writer’s position and evaluate the effectiveness of the writer’s arguments.Read the following two passages and answer the questions.Passage AWhile On the origin of Species created a great stir when it was published in 1859, Darwinian thought was almost completely out of vogue by the turn of the twentieth century. It took Ronald Fisher’s “Great Synthesis” of the 1920s, which combined the genetic work of Gregor Mendel with Darwin’s ideas about natural selection, and Theodosius Dobzhansky’s “Modern Synthesis” of the 1930s, which was built upon Fisher’s work with genetics within a species by focusing on how genetic variation could cause the origin of a new species, to begin to rehabilitate Darwin.Yet, what is remarkable is how very prescient Darwin, working without knowledge of the mechanisms of heredity, proved to be. As prominent biologist Ernst Mayr notes, what made Darwinian theory so remarkable was his emphasis on “population thinking”. This contrasts to Jean-Baptiste Lamarck’s theory of evolution, popular throughout the nineteenth century, which posited that individuals changed personal actions and will. Lamarckian theory is often exemplified by a giraffe constantly reaching up to eat leaves off high branches and passing on its lengthened neck to its children.Such explanations bore a strong resemblance to children’s fables (and indeed Rudyard Kipling’s late-nineteenth-century Just So Stories was built upon Lamarckian theories). Where Darwin differed was his insistence that significant variation was not based within one particular individual, but rather in the breeding population as a whole. Natural selection was not based on the actions or goals of one individual, but variations in the average character of the species.Passage BAs Peter Bowler points out in his aptly named The Non-Darwinian Revolution: Reinterpreting a Historical Myth, nineteenth-century Darwinism was quite different from the Darwinism of today. Thomas Huxley, “Darwin’s Bulldog”, so called because of his tireless public campaigning for Darwinian thought, exemplifies this difference. As a result of his advocacy, by the end of the nineteenth century Huxley was the vehicle for Darwinian thought. Noted science fiction writer H. G. Wells, for instance, garnered all of his information about natural selection and evolution through Huxley’s lectures. Yet Huxley’s theory varied significantly from that of Darwin, focusing on the will of humankind. In the preface to Evolution and Ethics, Huxley wrote that “We cannot do without our inheritance from the forefathers who were the puppets of the cosmic process; the society which renounces it must be destroyed from without. Still less can we do with too much of it; the society in which it dominates must be destroyed from within.” According to Huxley, humankind has moved past physical evolution to the realm of self-directed moral evolution. Huxley, then, acknowledges that humankind has evolved under the pressure of natural selection and must remain aware of the fact or be “destroyed from without”, but he argues that a society that continues in the path that Nature has placed it will be “destroyed from within” because it will no longer be adapted to itself.1) Based on the information in the passage, Rudyard Kipling most likely wrote stories ______.A. dedicated to enlightening humans by using animals as positive examples of proper behaviorB. based on futuristic worlds which were populated by evolved subjectsC. featuring individuals developing variation through the power of their desiresD. seeking to exhibit the effects of population thinking in breeding populationsE. portraying the effects of parental inheritance through examining the lives of children2) Which of the following best represents Huxley’s beliefs?A. Focusing on physical evolution leaves man as nothing more than a “puppet” of forces beyond his control; to succeed in life it is necessary to reject physical evolution in favor of moral change.B. The ideas of Charles Darwin needed to be carefully delineated through lectures so that his ideas about individual variation could be fully understood.C. By exerting personal will, humankind will be able to enact significant, lasting variation which will be demonstrated through the bodies of the children of those who seek change.D. While humankind is inescapably linked to its physical past and the material conditions of its evolution, it must be wary of being too attached to the path dictated by natural selection.E. Certain elements of Darwin’s theory about evolution had to be discarded so that the public would be willing to accept the thrust of the theory as a whole.3) Which of the following would the authors of Passage A and Passage B mostly likely agree to be most closely aligned in their thinking?A. Lamarck and Huxley.B. Kipling and Wells.C. Mayr and Bowler.D. Mendel and Huxley.E. Dobzhansky and Wells.4) Which of the following statements about Darwin is supported by both passages?A. Darwin differed significantly from other theorists of evolution because he focused on breeding populations as a whole.B. The modern understanding of Darwin varies significantly from nineteenth-century beliefs about his theories.C. It was not until the early twentieth century that Darwinism as we know it began to emerge.D. Fiction writers were particularly interested in disseminating ideas about Darwin.E. Delineating the specific inheritance of the child is crucial to understanding how natural selection proceeds.5) Which of the following best represents the difference between the two passages?A. The first passage begins with current understandings of Darwinism and moves back in time, while the second passage begins with older understanding and moves forward in time.B. While the first passage focuses on the difference between two theories of evolution, the second paragraph traces differences between two individual interpreters of evolution.C. The first passage introduces a general theory, offers specific evidence, and then considers the ramifications of that theory, while the second passage does not consider the ramifications of the evidence it represents.D. The first passage is concerned with demonstrating a way in which Darwin is closely linked with modern thinkers, while the second passage is focused on how he differed from one of his contemporaries.E. The first passage provides a historical retrospective of the primary interpreters of Darwin, and the second passage centers on one particular interpreter.6) Based on the information in Passage B, which of the following claims in Passage A would Thomas Huxley be most likely to object to?A. It is impossible to truly understand natural selection without the benefit of modern genetic theory.B. It is likely that the giraffe developed a long neck due to the fact that it constantly stretched it to gain access to food.C. There are different ways to understand how evolution functions to change individuals.D. Variations in the average character of a population are the most crucial factor in the proper evolution of man.E. Allowing natural selection to dominate our society will lead to the destruction of humankind.7) Which of the following situations is most closely analogous to the Lamarckian mode of variation?A. An adult bird tries to change the environment for the benefit of its children.B. Seeking to morally adapt to its environment, a chimpanzee changes the way it woos its mate.C. A giraffe’s bodily shape changes because it is unable to fit into the caves it traditionally sleeps in.D. Because of a change in the environment, a number of chimpanzees die out while others thrive and pass on their genes.E. Because it hunts for salmon with its mouth wide open, a bear gradually develops a straining mechanism between its teeth.Part IVRead and CreateIn this part, you will be required to write a short essay on a given topic based on your general reading. You should write with clarity, logic and creativity.1. Write an essay of about 200 words on one of the following topics.1) Hamlet is characterized by his melancholic mood and delay in action. Give a character analysis of Hamlet and list the possible reasons for his melancholy and delay.2) A Tale of Two Cities can be regarded as a historical novel, a moral novel and a novel strongly concerned with themes of resurrection, redemption and patriotism, as well as of guilt, shame and love. What is your understanding of the themes of the novel?2. Read the essay below. Answer one of the following questions by writing an essay of about 200 words.Of StudiesStudies serve for delight, for ornament, and for ability. Their chief use for delight, is in privateness and retiring; for ornament, is in discourse; and for ability, is in the judgment and disposition of business. For expert men can execute, and perhaps judge of particulars, one by one; but the general counsels, andthe plots and marshalling of affairs come best from those that are learned. To spend too much time in studies is sloth; to use them too much for ornament is affection; to make judgment wholly by their rules is the humor of a scholar. They perfect nature and are perfected by experience: for natural abilities are like natural plants, that need pruning by study, and studies themselves do give forth directions too much at large, except they be bounded in by experience. Crafty men contemn studies, simple men admire them, and wise men use them, for they teach not their own use; but that is a wisdom without them and above them, won by observation. Read not to contradict and confuse; nor to believe and take for granted; nor to find talk and discourse; but to weigh and consider. Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested; that is some books are to be read only in parts; others to be read, but not curiously; and some few to be ready wholly, and with diligence and attention. Some books also may be read by deputy and extracts made of them by others; but that would be only in the less important arguments, and the meaner sort of books; else distilled books are, like common distilled waters, flashy things.Reading makes a full man; conference a ready man; and writing an exact man. And therefore, if a man write little, he had need have a great memory; if he confer little, he had need have a present wit; and if he read little, he had need have much cunning to seem to know that he doth not. Histories make men wise; poets witty; the mathematics subtle; natural philosophy deep; moral grave; logic and rhetoric able to contend. Abeunt studia in mores. Nay there is no stond or impediment in the wit, but may be wrought out by fit studies: like as diseases of the body may have appropriate exercises. Bowling is good for the stone and reins; shooting for the lungs and breast; gentle walking for the stomach; riding for the head; and the like. So if a man’s wit be wandering, let him study the mathematics; for in demonstrations, if his wit be called away never so little, he must begin again. If his wit be not apt to distinguish or find differences, let him study the schoolmen; for they are cymini sectores. If he be not apt to beat over matters, and to call up one thing to prove and illustrate another, let him study the lawyers’ cases. So every defect of the mind may have a special receipt.1) We are now living in the age of “information explosion”. What lessons can we learn from Bacon’s “Of Studies” to access information”2) In what sense does reading make a full man?。
Good afternoon, everyone! I' m Leo. It's my pleasure to make a speech here. My topic is making the uselessness useful. I will give you two questions and three steps to make my speach.Question1, What is both useful and useless? I think the answer can be a big gourd. A big gourd is useful for Zhuangze,. He can make a float of it. However, for Huize, the same big gourd is useless. He can neither use it for holding liquids nor making ladles.Question2, Why? Why is it useful for Zhuangze but useless for Huize? In my opinion, the answer is thinking mode. And there are still three steps for us to learn a good thinking mode. Step1, when facing a problem, we should think about all kinds of ways as many as we can to choose from them. Step2, we must compare the failed ways and find the same points to learn from them. Like Huize's two ways, no matter holding liquids or making ladles, have you found it? The same point is holding liquids inside rather than outside. Step3, After finding the same points, we need think about the problems in a divergent and multi-angle way. Since we cannot hold liquids inside, we can try to hold liquids outside, like Zhuangze's float. The liquids was held outside. Indside, no! But outside, yes! What's more, although we cannot hold liquids, we can try to hold solids or gases, such as holding earth to be a flower pot or holding air to be a decoration. In a word, what we need is a good thinking mode, which makes everything useful! Thank you very much.。
The value of thingsLadies and gentle man.Honorable Judges:I feel great honored to be here, the main area that I intend to cover in this presentation is the importantce of discovering the value of things. As is well-known,Chuang-tzu and HuiZi were great thinker and philosophers during China’s warring State Periods.Huizi planted a seed of a large-sized kind of gourd, and it bore a fruit as big as a five bushel measure.Huizi used this for holding liquis,it would have been to heavy to fit,and then he cut it in half for ladles, the ladles would have been to flat for such purpose. So,Huizi broke it up,when Chuang-tzuknewnit,he said to Huizi “It was rather you did not know how to use large things”Chuang-tzu told Huizi that he can make a float of the five-bushel gourd and float about over river and lake. From this story,we should know the importance of how to use things. The same things in different places, the effect is very different.Forexample, once upon time, there was a man who had a recipe for salve for chapped hands, his family having been silk-washers for generations.A stranger who had heard of it came and offered him a hundred ounces of silvers for this recipe. The stranger got the recipe, and went and had aninterview with Prince of Wu,because of the recipe, theWu State won the victory of the naval battle with the Yu:eh State in the winter, then the stranger was rewarded with a piece of thing King’s territory. Thus, while the efficary of the salve to cure chapped hands is in both cases the same, different people has different applications. Here, the stranger knew how to use the recipe,so he rescured a title;there, the people didn’t discover the value of the recipe,so he remained silk-washer.This story tell us that we should be good at discovering the value of things. And the value of things is often not just look at the things themselves, and his real value is reflected in hands of the owner,so we have to be good at using things,so that his advantages can be mere to play their own maximum level. In the modern copetivegeneration,we should try our best to discover the potential value of things. In order to make the best of thing,we can pay attention to innovation, why we can’t find how to use things,I think that because we are not completely explore the potential value of the things. And innovation will let a thing really play his value. So,we should realize the importance of innovation, let the things really play its role. That’s all, thank you.。

演讲者:Ivan Joseph| 中英对照演讲稿 |Hello. My name is Simone. You know how people tell you if you get nervous when onstage, picture people in the audien cenaked? Like it s this thing that s supposed to make you feel better. But I was thinking -- picturing all of you naked in 20xx feels kind of weird and wrong.
Like, we re working really hard on moving past stuff like that, so we need anew method of dealing with if you get nervous onstage. And I realized that whatI d really like is that I can look at you as much as you re looking at me --just to even things out a little bit. So if I had way more eyeballs, then we dall be really comfortable, right? So in preparation for this talk, I made myself a shirt.(Rattling)我们都有在努力克服这样的问题,所以我们需要一种新方法,来应付舞台恐惧症。
介绍伦敦的,你自己再改改吧,用别人的说起来别扭。
翻译没好好弄,大体看看吧。
With a population of just under eight million, London is Europe's largest city, spreading across an area of more than 620 square miles from its core on the River Thames. Ethnically it's also Europe's most diverse metropolis: around two hundred languages are spoken within its confines, and more than thirty percent of the population is made up of first-, second- and third-generation immigrants. Despite Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish devolution, London still dominates the national horizon, too: this is where the country's news and money are made, it's where the central government resides and, as far as its inhabitants are concerned, provincial life begins beyond the circuit of the city's orbital motorway. Londoners' sense of superiority causes enormous resentment in the regions, yet it's undeniable that the capital has a unique aura of excitement and success – in most walks of British life, if you want to get on you've got to do it in London. For the visitor, too, London is a thrilling place – and in the last few years, the city has been in a relatively buoyant mood. Thanks to the national lottery and the millennium-oriented funding frenzy, virtually every one of London'sworld-class museums, galleries and institutions has been reinvented, from the Royal Opera House to the British Museum. In the Tate Modern and the London Eye, the city can now boast the world's largest modern art gallery and Ferris wheel, and the first new bridge to cross the Thames for over a hundred years. Furthermore, following sixteen years of being the only major city in the world not to have its own governing body, London finally acquired its own elected assembly in 2000, along with a mayor who's determined to try and solve one of London's biggest problems: transport. In the meantime, London's traditional sights – Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, St Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London – continue to draw in millions of tourists every year. Monuments from the capital's more glorious past are everywhere to be seen, from medieval banqueting halls and the great churches of Christopher Wren to the eclectic Victorian architecture of the triumphalist British Empire. There is also much enjoyment to be had from the city's quiet Georgian squares, the narrow alleyways of the City of London, the riverside walks, and the quirks of what is still identifiably a collection of villages. And even London's traffic problems are offset by surprisingly large expanses of greenery: Hyde Park, Green Park and St James's Park are all within a few minutes' walk of the West End, while, further afield, you can enjoy the more expansive countryside of Hampstead Heath and Richmond Park. You could spend days just shopping in London, too, mixing with the upper classes in the tiara triangle around Harrods, or sampling the offbeat weekend markets of Portobello Road, Camden and Greenwich. The music, clubbing and gay/lesbian scenes are second to none, and mainstream arts are no less exciting, with regular opportunities to catch brilliant theatre companies, dance troupes, exhibitions and opera. Restaurants, these days, are an attraction, too. London is now on a par with its European rivals, and offers a range fromthree-star Michelin establishments to low-cost, high-quality Chinese restaurants and Indian curry houses. Meanwhile, the city's pubs have heaps of atmosphere, especially away from the centre – and an exploration of the farther-flung communities is essential to get the complete picture of this dynamic metropolis.有着不到八百万的人口,伦敦是欧洲最大的城市,以泰晤士河为中心纵横620平方英里。

there is no such thing failure演讲中英对照There is No Such Thing as Failure - 演讲中英对照Ladies and gentlemen,女士们先生们,Today, I stand before you to talk about a concept that I firmly believe in- there is no such thing as failure. Whether it is in academics, professional career, or personal life, failure is just another step on the ladder to success.今天,我站在你们面前,谈论我坚信的一个概念- 没有所谓的失败。
无论是在学业、职业生涯还是个人生活中,失败只是通往成功的阶梯上的另一步。
Failure often carries a negative connotation, symbolizing defeat and disappointment. But it's vital to understand that failure is not a destination;it's merely a temporary setback. Throughout history, great minds and successful individuals have embraced failure as an opportunity for growth and learning.失败往往带有消极的含义,象征着失败和失望。
但重要的是要明白,失败不是终点,它只是暂时的挫折。
在历史上,伟大的思想家和成功人士都把失败视为成长和学习的机会。
Thomas Edison, the inventor of the electric light bulb, famously said, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Edison's relentless pursuit of finding a successful design for the light bulb was builton his ability to perceive each failed attempt as a stepping stone towards hisultimate goal. Through this perspective, we can see that failure is not the opposite of success; it is a part of the journey towards success.托马斯·爱迪生,这位电灯泡的发明者,曾言:“我没有失败,我只是找到了一万种行不通的方法。

We Are The World,We Are The FutureSomeone said “we are reading the irst verse of the irst chapter of a book, whose pages are in inite”. I don’t know who wrote these words, but I’ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. We are all in the position of the farmers. If we plant a good seed, we reap a good harvest. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.We are young. “How to spend the youth?” It is a meaningful question. T o answer it, irst I have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” Youth is not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. It’s not a matter o f rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. It’s the matter of the will. It’s the freshness of the deep spring of life.A poet said “To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild lower, hold in inity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. Several days ago, I had a chance to listen to a lecture. I learnt a lot there. I’d like to share it with all of you. Let’s show our right palms. We can see three lines that show how our love , career and life is. I have a short line of life. What about yours? I wondered whether we could see our future in this way. Well, let’s make a ist. Where is our future? Where is our love, career, and life? Tell me.Yeah, it is in our hands. It is held in ourselves. We all want the future to be better than the past. But the future can go better itself. Don’t cry because it is over , smile because it happened. From the past, we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. We’ve learnt that we can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it. Failure d oesn’t mean you don’t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way. Failure doesn’t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder. As what I said at the beginning, “we are reading the irst verse of the irst chapter of a book, who chapter of a book, whose pages are in inite”. The past has gone. Nothing we do se pages are in inite”. The past has gone. Nothing we do will change it. But the future is in front of us. Believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us. And from today on, let’s be the owners of ourselves, and speak out “We are the world, we are the future.”参考译文参考译文世界是我们的,未来是我们的世界是我们的,未来是我们的一些人说“我们正在读一本无穷的书中的第一章的第一节。

外研社杯英文作文比赛英文:When I first heard about the requirement for this essay to be written in both English and Chinese, I was a bit intimidated. However, after some thought, I realized that this could actually be a great opportunity to showcase my language skills and cultural knowledge. So, here goes nothing! As for the topic of the essay, I think it's a great idea to talk about the importance of language learning. In today's globalized world, being able to communicate with people from different countries and cultures is more important than ever. Learning a new language not only helps you to understand and appreciate different cultures, but it also opens up new opportunities for travel, work, and personal growth.Personally, I have always been interested in learningnew languages. In fact, I studied Spanish and French inhigh school and college, and I have recently startedlearning Mandarin Chinese on my own. While it can be challenging to learn a new language, I find it incredibly rewarding to be able to communicate with people in their own language and to better understand their culture. One example of how language learning has benefited meis when I traveled to France a few years ago. I was able to communicate with locals in French, which not only made my trip more enjoyable but also helped me to better understand and appreciate French culture. Similarly, I have been ableto connect with Chinese friends and colleagues through my Mandarin studies, which has deepened my understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture.中文:当我第一次听说这篇文章需要用英文和中文写时,我有些害怕。
外研社演讲大赛演讲稿ChangetheUnchangeable第一篇:外研社演讲大赛演讲稿 Change the Unchangeable Change the Unchangeable——Through positive attitude Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!Have you ever complained about your origin? Have you ever been teased about you short height? Have you ever been troubled by being in an unsatisfying circumstance? As we know, life is always full of things that are unchangeable, but does it mean that we have no alternative but to submit to them? Definitely no!What we are supposed to do is to change the unchangeable. In our life, there are inevitably lots of unchangeable obstacles for us.Although we may not be capable of changing them directly, we can change what we can do in an unchangeable situation.Disability is unchangeable, but we can change our attitude towards life.Nick Vujicic, who is a distinguished Australian motivational speaker, was born with no limbs.Confronted with this unchangeable situation, he was still optimistic and plucked up courage to love life. With enthusiasm and perseverance, he incredibly accomplished a series of things such as swimming, playing football, riding a horse and so forth. With optimism and passion, he successfully made a miracle of being a world-famous motivational speaker.Circumstances is unchangeable, but we can change our mentality towards it.I can still well remember the time when I was sent to a secondary school which had a bad reputation among people.Honestly speaking, my heart sank on hearing the news.Much unsatisfying as the circumstances was to me, I held the firm belief that studying harder than ever before would make adifference.Delightfully, having devoted myself to study during those three years, I was admitted into a key high school at last. You see, things like disability, circumstances are all unchangeable, and to some extent, they do hinder us from achieving our goals. But do not ever submit to them.Change your attitude towards them, and work hard to change what you can do to make a difference! As an American motivational speaker Brian Tracy once said,”You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude towards what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.” As lo ng as we hold a positive attitude and endeavor to make a change, we will be able to change the unchangeable and make the impossible possible!Thank you.
There is no useless thing, except in the wrong place.
From the animation we can see that the benefit of the son and Chuang-tzu is discussing the use of big gourd. Keiko think the two uses of the gourd, a is like a bucket for holding water. Another use is like a scoop as used to hold water. To the end of the sub - negative the big bottle gourd, think it is no use. However, the great Chuang-tzu has found a good place for the gourd. This story reminds me of a litchi tree that I planted in front of my house when I was very young.
When I was just a little girl, I planted a tree in front of the house. I take care of it, but until now it has not been a delicious fruit. Was I doing something wrong? For a long time I've been wondering. Then I realized that I had not done anything wrong, and I understand that we cannot go against the law of nature, and that the tree of my tree is grown in a place where it grows.
In this summer, I met a little girl who was put in the wrong place like my litchi tree. She is my cousin's daughter, the daughter of the college entrance examination in June this year just ended. College entrance examination results are very poor. My sister told me that her English is good, and history can also be a good score, but her father forced her to study science, because her father believes that the liberal arts are not. High school 3 years of life so that she is very painful, she had been suffering from depression. She gave a 100 point effort, but only 50 points of the harvest. I thought that if her father did not force her to study science and put her in the right place, she would not be the result of this.
Finally, the Internet was a very famous disabled speaker. His name is Rick, I imagine you talk about his story. He was born with no limbs, only in the left hip the following position has a small foot with two toes". Despite physical disability, parents did not give up on his education. Hu Zhe's father is an engineer and his mother is a nurse. When he was six years old, his father taught him how to use the body only "chicken" typing. While the mother as he built a special plastic device, let him learn to write "pen". At the age of eight, Hu Zhe's parents sent him to primary school. Due to physical disability, Hu Zhe's classmates ridicule and bullying. At the age of ten, he tried to drown himself in the bathtub, but did not succeed.
So whether you have today is like my lychee trees as is in the wrong place, there are still people force you to do something you don't want to do bad things, we should like Rick, and strive to live. Because there is no such thing in the world unless we put the wrong place.。
