重点2：研究现状 要将与文章相关的研究现状进行综述，并进行点评、比较。 案例1:
前言中应加一小段该领域的文献综述
Comment 3: Authors could add a short literature review in introduction where they go shortly through what other researchers have done in this field……. Answer: We added a short literature review in Chapter Introduction and 13 articles (as follows) of other researchers’ research were cited and discussed in sludge drying field, see in the revised manuscript.
案例2:
样品的描述不充分，作者或其他研究者无法重复该研究
Comment 2: Your description of the resources used is inadequate if either you or an external researcher wanted to repeat the work. The substrates used must be more accurately described. Answer: The detailed description of sawdust has been added in the revised manuscript. We checked the units and references very carefully. The unit issues have been modified, and the reference quality has been improved as well. 12
案例:
Comment 6: Major revision is required - and unusually, I want you to repeat the work with a current sample of sludge - following the same protocols to see if the results are the same. If they are, you then are in a position to claim your results and conclusions are reproducible, but without that - there can be no publication in this journal.

Comment: One is unable to follow the motivation for taking up such a study. This should be spelled out more clearly in the Abstract and Introduction. Answer: We made the motivation for taking up such a study clearer by revising the abstract and introduction.

除此之外，还要提出自己文章研究的新颖性和必要性。 案例:
研究意义不明确
Comment 2: The meaning of this work is not explicit. Your colleagues have done some similar work before. You should emphasize your novelty and necessity. Answer: 需强调与其同事研究相比的新颖性和必要性 As mentioned in the manuscript, my colleagues have done some similar works which focused on the influence of back mixing on convective drying of residual sludges in a pilot-scale fixed bed by using the high-energy tomograph. However, they only detected the structural characteristics before and after drying, but they have no information concerning the structure evolutions of the sludge bed. We also revised the last two paragraphs of the introduction, which emphasize the novelty and necessity of this work.
修改后的文章，指出了同事之前研究工作的不足，并在前言中强调 了该研究的新颖性和必要性。

Comment: Provide detailed physical characteritics of the sludge and the sawdust (size, size distribution, etc.) Answer: We added more physical characteristics of the sludge and the sawdust in this article.

结论应当简洁，给出文章中研究的主要发现即可。 案例:
Comment 8: Chapter CONCLUSION is too long and should be shortened. There is no need to repeat all drying parameters in this chapter. Authors should only mention the main findings and conclusion based on the current study.

深化方法： 详细地描述特定或关键的结果；
引起这些结果的原因分析； 与其他相关研究进行比较； 分析结果中存在的不足；
结论太长，无必要重申所有的研究结果

► 图Figures
期刊对文章中图片的清晰度有严格要求。
1、一般要求tif或eps格式，并且分辨率不小于300dpi。在用origin 或其它软件画图完成后注意保存成满足投稿需要的图。 2、将数据放在Excel中编辑画图，之后将图拷贝到word文件中，投 稿时直接上传word文件即可。

Answer: After reading the file of Guide for authors, we know that a typical abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions. Therefore, we have revised our abstract, as shown in the revised manuscript.

2、实验结果的可重复性。
国外期刊的编辑和审稿人特别注重文章中研究结果的可重复性。文章 不能只是偶然一次实验的结果，而应该是能反复实验得出相同的结果。
3、如果从其它途径得到的图，并且分辨率实在达不到要求，可用
Photoshop、IrfanView等图形编辑软件修改分辨率。

Comment: There are several “vague” sentences in the manuscript. For example, “ From the results above we know the final bed volume increases with increasing the addition of sawdust, so the final void volumes of mixtures are not necessarily smaller than the sludges.” or “It is obvious that there are two regions exist. ”
