Books are our friends because they are bridges to knowledge. Knowledge is valuable because it enriches our life and brings us happiness.
Almost all great men in the history of mankind loved books. We have every reason to believe it is the knowledge in books that led them to success. There is no genius without books. Because books give them knowledge and knowledge gives them power. A man is half blind if he is unable to read. Books make us able to learn about the past and look forward to the future. They are the most valuable things in the world. Let books be our good friends all the time.
2.Friendship
What is friendship? It is to relate with somebody without need for money or objective. It is to need emotion and over wealth is friendship , no matter what their background , age , sex or personality.
Friendship can be pure. We hear , nowdays, however, how one can be cheated by friends. Many people get along with someone because they have a lot of money. It is doultful that is real friendship.
Having friends, one can be find happiness. If you are in trouble your friends will help you through or at least comfort you. When you are happy , they share it with you. They are also there for you to chat with at any time.
It is a wonderful feeling, as the proverb says" to love each other is easy but to make frieds is hard", So, it is crutial that we should get along with our friends. In my opinon ,it is a shame to deceive your friends . The world would be more beautiful if it was full of filled with friendship.
3.Should students make friends on line ？
Some people say yes.The internet helps make many friends.Chatting on line，students can more freely express their feelings and opinions，and even get help with their foreign language studies .
Others，however，think students should not.They say making friends on line is a waste of time，which should be spent more meaningfully on study.Besides，some students get cheated on line .
It is my opinion that students should place their study，health and safety before other things.As for friendship，we can readily find it in our classmates and other people around us .
4.Time Doesn＇t Definitely Mean Money
As a popular saying goes, "Time is money." But does time definitely
mean money? I don＇t think so. First of all, time is more precious than
money. When money is spent, you can earn it back if you want to. However,when time is gone, it will never come back. T o some extent, time is priceless. Second, not all time can be turned into money in the end. Some persons are idling all the time. Their time is just for wasting, not for earning money. They will end in nothing at last. 5.Practice Makes Perfect
The saying that practice makes perfect means that after you have plenty of practice in what you are doing, you will be perfect in it. He who practices a lot will master the skill more quickly than he who seldom or hardly practices.
For example, when we learn English, we have to learn grammar, words, expressions and so on. The most important thing may be how to put what we have learned into practice. If you only learn the grammar rules by heart and
don＇t do enough exercises, it is certain that you can＇t understand them
perfectly. But if you practice a lot, maybe you will understand them more deeply and you can find some good methods of applying them. Memoriz ing English words whenever time permits,we can easily memorize them and can even find a way to memorize them more quickly.

8.The Advantages and Disadvantages of Internet
The following aspects could best illustrate the advantages of Internet. Netsurfers in different countries can share interesting knowledge and the latest information. Besides, Internet has provided a major opportunity to buy and sell merchandise . What is more, people may get medical help or even vote on Internet. Its advantages seem countless.
Behind all this glowing talk, however, are some problems. Internet makes people passive by stopping them making their own entertainment. Newspapers become thicker and thicker, for pages of the paper are covered with advertisements. TV shows us endless ads day and night. Advertisements force people to notice their products.
It is a good way to promote their new products. When a new product is developed, it is the manufacturer?s or seller?s duty to let the public know what the new product is; what the specialties are and what the manufacturer?s or the seller?s guarantees are to the products. In the modern society, quite a few people make money a target for pursuit, as they believe money is the road to happiness. Is that the case? Does money really make the matter go? I don?t agree to this opinion. Of c ourse, we can?t live without money because it is the currency in circulation with which we can buy what we need in daily life. But money doesn?t mean everything in the world, such as happiness. The factors that contribute to happiness are unpredictable（出乎意料的）. Those who have money to burn are not necessarily living a happy life while those who lack physical needs may be happier than the rich.
People once said that money is the source of evil. It is true to some extent. T o catch hold of money, people would rather pay any price ---- to steal, to rob, to commit murder and even to aggress another country. Sometimes money can drive people crazy and kill them. 12.Ways of Communication
When you speak, write a letter, or make a telephone call, your words carry a message. People communicate with words.
