W: Hi. Can I help you with anything?
M: Yeah. Can I look at this ring?
W: Sure. Let me get it out for you.

W: What are you doing tomorrow?
M: Nothing really.
W: Let’s watch a movie. They’re playing Lord of the Rings.
M: That sounds pretty good. Let’s watch that.

W: Hi, Burt. Are you still looking for a job?
M: Yes. I just had an interview yesterday.

M: I think I did well. They said they would make a decision by this Friday.
Text 4
W: Hello, may I speak to Mr. Brown?
M: He just left.
W: When do you expect him back?
M: I’m sorry, but he’s gone for the day. Would you care to leave a message?
Text 5
W: You looked tired. Didn’t you get enough sleep last night?
M: No, I had a few of my friends over, and we partied until the late hours.
Text 6
W: Hello?
M: Hi, Rose. This is Mike. What are you doing?
W: Oh, hi. Just watching TV. There’s nothing to watch right now, but I have nothing to do and I’m bored.
M: Me too. Let’s get together and do something.
W: I’d like to, but I have to meet my parents in an hour for dinner. How about tomorrow?
M: Yeah. Let’s plan something tomorrow.
Text 7
W: How do you like the sweater?
M: I love it. I’ll take it.
W: Great. It comes to $87.
M: Do you have any special discount?
W: Do you have a credit card with us?
M: No, I don’t.
W: If you open up a card, you can save 10% on all your purchases today.
M: Not today. Thanks though.
W: No problem. We always have this offer, so whenever you decide to, just let us know.
M: Sure.

W: Tom, how do I look in my bracelet?
M:Wonderful. When did you get it?
W: I got it a month ago, but I haven’t worn it much. You really like it?
M: Yeah. It’s beautiful. Is it white gold or silver?
W: It’s white gold.
M: Where did you buy it?
W: My boyfriend Victor took me to the jewelry shop and let me pick it out.
M: That’s so sweet. What was the occasion?
W: That’s the best part. It wasn’t for anything special. He just wanted to buy me something.
M: You’re so lucky. If he bought you something for no special day, I wonder what he would buy you for your birthday.
W: My birthday is coming up next month. We’ll find out pretty soon.
Text 9
W: What stresses you out the most?
M: Probably my parents.
W: How so?
M: Well, during school, they wanted good grades. Then after I got a job, they wanted me to get a better job. And finally, they want me to get married.
W: You have to deal with a lot of pressure from your parents.
M: Your parents are not like that?
W: Ever since I brought home some bad grades in elementary school, they never expected much. M: You’re lucky.
W: What do you do to deal with the stress?
M: Not much I can do. It’s always there. I sometimes go out with some friends and drink, but that’s only a temporary solution. The stress always returns in the morning.
W: That sucks. Shall we go somewhere for a beer?
M: Sure. Sounds great. Let’s go.
