解析电影《犬之岛》人与狗的日英双语对白

摘要：电影《犬之岛》中人与狗的日英双语对白设置是韦斯?安德森在叙事、色彩等极具个人风格的手法之外，在电影创作上的一种全新尝试。狗讲英语的设置主要目的在于塑造“富有人性”的狗的角色，建立观众与狗角色之间的共情；而人讲日语则是影片最具“表现主义色彩”的设计。另外，从电影语言修辞的角度看，“狗讲英语、人讲日语”的设置既是“以狗喻人”，又形成人狗两个“社会”的对比，凸显出希崎市表面文明背后的人性阴暗以及垃圾岛表面颓败之下的人性光辉。

一、狗角色讲英语：塑造角色性格，建芷“人狗共情”
由人本主义创始人罗杰斯提出的“共情”概念，指的是一种能深入他人主观世界了解他人感受的能力。我们更容易得到来自同一群体的其他成员的认同和支持，对不属于自己群体的人则通常很难产生共情，甚至会出现幸灾乐祸的情况（Cikara&van Bavel,2014）。那么，在一部人类和动物共同参演的电影中，如何颠覆人类中心主义叙事，使观众更多地与动物角色建立认同从而产生共情呢？
一项关于“电影类型与受众接受”的研究指出，建构电影内容认同与观影快感的基础文本体系，是由影片的题材、主题/价值体系、人物设置、情节设置、叙事模式、视觉造型和影像风格（电影语言/修辞）等要素构成的。也有学者在研究“受众对电视剧人物认同心理”时指出，受众对一部电视剧产生持久观看兴趣的最重要审美因素之一就是对剧中人物的认同。人物是全剧的核心因素，是全剧主题思想的形象承载物。不难看出，无论是电影还是电视剧，人物设置都是影响观众获得快感、建立认同、产生共情的一个关键因素。
与此同时，人物设置又受到电影对白的影响。作为人们日常交流的重要媒介，电影对白能够准确反映出人物之间的基本冲突，推动剧情不断发展。在电影中不同人物只有通过对白才能准确表达自身的身份、地位以及性格特点。电影《犬之岛》不仅从整体上设置狗角色讲英语对白，而且在某些台词设计上也着力于塑造比较饱满的狗角色，它们的性格和品质对于“人狗共情”的构建至关重要。
垃圾岛上说英语的狗主要是“首领”（Chief）、“君主”（Rex）、“公爵"（Duke）、"国王"（King）以及"老板"（Boss）,因为篇幅限制，主要讨论首领、君主和公爵。影片中，虽然五只狗认为“我们所有人都是首领”，但其实君主才像真正的首领。在电影一开始，在“狗多肉少，战争一触即发”的时刻，君主说:“在像疯狗一样互相攻击之前，先看看袋子里有什么吃的，也许里面的东西不值得拼命。”虽然最后还是没有避免开战，但仍然体现出君主足智多谋、在混乱中力图维持秩序的领袖气质。此夕卜，看到受伤的小男孩，即使又饥又病，君主依然说"Dogs don't eat their masters（狗不吃主人）”。这句英语台词用的是一般现在时①，因此“狗不吃主人”就像是太阳东升西落的客观规律一样，不容辩驳，凸显出君主的坚持原则和一身正气。首领作为狗群中唯一的流浪狗.其对白也充分体现了他粗俗的一面。当狗群里满是悲观言论时,首领鼓舞士气的方法可谓“言行一致”。首领说："You make me sick（你们让我恶心）"，同时，就真的吐了，既表现出首领的粗俗，又达到了一定的幽默效果。接着，首领又说：''I've seen cats with more halls than you dogs （我见过的猫都比你们这几条狗有种）”，首领用的是balls,这个单词在非正式语体中指男性睾丸，说一个人没有balls,就是说一个人“没种”，“不是个男人”，这个词经常被用在俚语土话中，在这里可以体现出首领作为流浪狗的身份和他不同于其他家养狗的粗俗性格。另外，首领的口头禅“Ibite（我会咬人）”，也很能凸显他身为流浪狗的野性、
