Dear friends, we have now entered the largest heaveenly-created fairyland on water—the Thousand-Island Lake of Xiao Langdi on the Yellow River. Looking eastward, the dyke we see is the Xiao Langdi main dam, named after Xiao Langdi village of Mengjin Country where it is built. The original name of the village was Danyang. It is said that when Da Yu was controlling floods, one day when he passed by this village, all villagers were willing to sacrifice their own home to help control the flood. In memory of them, the village was renamed from Danyang to Xiao Langdi. The Xiao Langdi yellow River Water Conservancy Hinge Project is located in Mengjin County of Henan province. It is a super control project with integrated benefits of flood controlling, water logging controlling, silt reduction, irrigation, water supply, and electricity generation. The total height of the dam is 281 meters; the length of it is 16, 667 meters. Stretching from Mang Mountain in south, to Wangwu Mountain in north, it is the biggest soil-based dam built on the rivers of our country. The storage capacity of the project is 1256.5 billion stere, water area 296 square meters, normal water storage line 250 meters, the highest water storage line 275 meters, and electricity capacity 1,800 thousand kilowatt with a yearly average of 51 billion kilowatt. A total investment of 337 billion Yuan has been completed. The total controlled drainage area takes 92.3% after its completion, of which the flood-control threat to the lower reaches. Not only can the quantity of water supply be increased by 40billion stere, but also industrial and agricultural production and people’s daily water supply condition along the Yellow River banks can be improved a lot. Protected anti-drought area can reach 25 million mu; 2.1 million tons of coal can be saved in generating electricity yearly. This is a miracle in the history of and invites international bidding with three bidding stages, involving 51 countries and areas, 700 foreign business representatives and thousand s of Chinese constructors. So many countries’ participation in a single project is rare in the world, so it also has a nick name ―mini United Nation‖.The project structure is exceptionally complicated and the difficulty level for construction is unusually high as well. Only the soil dug out of the main body of the project comes to 88.11 million stere. The flood discharge and sand drainage and water guiding tunnels total 16 main channels and nearly a hundred branch channels, all gather in the body of a thin mountain. Among them are there huge diversion tunnels, 3,480 meters long in total with a 14.5-meter diameter each, big enough to hold two four-story buildings standing side by side. The water-intake tower of the flood discharge system has multiple layers; its bee-hive -shaped room is so huge and complex that it can be ranked No.1 in the world. The new style indoor multi-hole energy-consuming device is rarely seen in either domestic or foreign water conservancy projects. The world’s largest force-scattering dyke is built up at the entrance of the three flood-discharge holes. Thebody of the mountain consists of gently obliquitous gritstone and argillaceous dusty gritstone with more than 20 layers, just like a―thousand-layer pie.‖ It is quite difficult to co nstruct in the mountain. The \reinforcement and the support of the rocks at the entrance to the outside tunnels of the mountain alone costs 3,224 pieces of 12-meter anchor stocks, 578pieces of 30~40 –meter anchor cables, and drilling12-meter-deep scuppers with a number of 1,382 on the rock wall. Actually the wall was so densely drilled that it was described vividly as―sewing-densely-the-bottom-of-shoes project‖. At the foot of the dam, there are 70-12 meters thick, 81.9 meters deep, has been built to prevent leakage, and it is the deepest leakage-proof wall in our country presently. It is well known that the Yellow River is the Mother River of China, whereas the huge amount of mud and sand dashing out of it is said to able to circle around the earth three times if piled up in a 1-meter high and1-meter wide wall, which makes it harnessing of the Yellow River had long been a dream of Chinese people and it was the Communist party of China that really solved the problem. Not long after the People’s Rep ublic of China was founded, Mao Zedong looked at the muddy water in the river and gave an instruction: ―Things concerning the Yellow River must be handled well. ― During the 40 years ever since then, thousands of experts participating in harnessing the Yellow River have conducted elaborated exploration designs. The sluice and electricity-generation dam projectthat started from 1990 has been completed ahead of schedule, taking more than ten years. The building of the dam not only chains up the obstinate and unruly yellow dragon and exerts fully its integrated effects such as flood control, water logging control, silt reduction, water supply and electricity generatio0n, but also adds up an attractive scenic spot to our country.According to the Zhengzhou-Luoyang center tourism route setup by the central government of China, the Xiao Langdi beauty spot on the Yellow River, with a total area of 1,262 square kilometers, is divided into four grand areas, which are Xiao Langdi Dam, Zijin Mountain, and Sanmen Gorge. There are 13 sightseeing districts and 113 scenic spots. Each spot has its own historical stories; therefore, we can appreciate the scenic glamour of large mountains with lakes featured by the middle-lower reaches of the yellow river hydro-junction-project, gorges and rivers, which embodies the Yellow River culture and natural view. One kilometer ahead under the water there is an ancient battlefield called ―Red River Beachhead‖, where Cao’s army fought against Yuan Shao’s at the late years of Jianghan. Now please look to the right, you can see a place in the middle of the mountainside. It is the Big Mountain Stockade Village, where Yuan Shao once garrisoned. Look to the left, the mountain you see is the Yellow Deer Mountain; the valley at the mountain foot is called Cao Camp Valley, whereCao Cao’s army garrisoned. The Red River Bottomland is below the place we are at.There were totally 215 people of 41 families at the Red River Bottomland, and now they have moved to Songzhuang Town in Mengjin Coun try. As the story goes that Cao Cao’s army garrisoned in the valley, so the valley was named after this. Official outer gate was built in front of the camp; horses were depastured at the place called Fruit-eating Bottomland and watered along the Yellow River. The valley where Cao Cao feasted his meritorious were buried is called Tomb Slope Village at the other side of the Yellow River. Before an ancient battle, there would always be a written-challenge-to war. When during the battle, Yuan’s soldiers would get to the place below us by boats, and then returned to their camp across the river by boats again. A time consuming war had been on between the two sides. There were severe deaths on both sides and blood flowed like a river, which dyed the whole Fruit-eating Bottomland into deep red. The original 300-mu fruit trees were destroyed completely. Since then, it was named Red River Bottomland. The Fruit-eating Bottomland Valley belongs to the Yellow Deer Mountain. Talking about the Yellow River Mountain, there is a legendary story. It took place during the years of Li Shimin, Emperor Tang Tai. He once came to Mengjin to hunt, protected by a large group of his men. He suddenly caught sight of a white deer, so he spurred his horse to chase it.When he rode to the last valley of the Yellow River, which was on the southern bank, southwest to the Xiao Langdi Valley, he found the white deer had turned into a yellow one! He exclaimed:‖what a divine deer!‖ And he ordered all his men to kneel down to apologize for their offence.Next, we are going to reach the Yellow River Eight-li Gorge, whose original name was Eight-li Bystreet and which was regarded as the ―last gorge on the Yellow River ‖. The gorge is named this because of its eight-li length. It is the least gorge at the joint point of the middle and the lower reaches of the 5,464-kilometer-long Yellow River . Tall mountains stand high on both the south and the north side of the gorge, with steep cliffs and steady flowing water, peaceful and mild. The torrential Yellow River flows down vigorously, and is spectaculars. It was said that there are‖ eight scenic spots within eight li‖ in ancient times. According to ―Mountain and Ocean Classics‖ , the story about this gorge goes like this: ‖Emperor Yu’s father was killed by Shun after nine years harnessing floods without success. But his father’s will to harness the Yellow River never died, and he turned into Danzhu Island to help his son Yu to control the flood finally. ―We now have arrived at the Gu Mountain Gorge scenic spot. It lies the middle area of the Eight-li gorge. The south end of the gorge starts form the Qing Hekou and Fuzi Cliff, and stretches all the way to north Fengshi Lack, finally reaches the highest point, about 230 to 275 meters high. However, it is just a start point of the beautiful sceneries at Xiao Langdi. When you get to the Shizu Mountain , you will see: the place was surrounded by a high mountain at one side and by water at the other three sides,Which forms the biggest peninsula beside the lake in the Wanshan Island and the biggest island in the middle of the lake. And this is the golden area of the whole Xiao Langdi tourism fairyland on water.Dear friends, when Xiao Langdi dam’s water storage reaches the highest point, the water area will stretch to where it is only one kilometer away from the Sanmen Gorge Dam. How spectacular it will be when the project is completed in 2005! We are expecting to see much more attractive scenes here! Thank you!。

Yellow River Dam Project Scenic Area atXiaolangdi,Luoyang(黄河小浪底风景区)Ladies and gentlemen ,good morning! You’ve enjoyed most of the artificial sights or historical sights in Luoyang.Today I’d like to show you a mixture one, both artificial and natural------The Yellow River Dam Project Scenic Area at Xiaolangdi---in Luoyang.I hope you’ll enjoy it,too. The dam project is located at the mouth of the last gorge of the middle reaches of the Yellow River some 40 kilometers to the north of Luoyang City,130km west to the Sanmenxia Dam on the Yellow River. It started in September 1992,and completed in the end od 2001 with an investment of around 35 billion RMB.It is a super huge type multi-purpose water-control project built by means of international bidding, partly with the loan from the World Bank. The three principle parts (the dam,the flood and sand discharge system and the electricity generating system)of the project were respectively constructed and fixed by some Italian,German and French experts, who brought us advanced technology in construction and referencable experience in management.Maybe you’ll ask why we invested so great a number of funds in the project. Now let me begin with the Yellow River.I believe most of you know the Yellow River. It is the second big river in China. It’s so well-known is the world largely for the color of its water. Its popularity even exceeds the Yangtse River, which is the biggest river in China. I wonder if you know the why.As a lucid tricklet at the headstream, the Yellow River originates from the Yuegozonglie Bason of the Northern Bayan Har Mountain in Qinghai Province,It flows through nine provinces such as Qinghai,Sichuan,Shandong,Gansu,Ningxia,Inner Mongolia,Shanxi,Shaanxi,Henan and Shandong admitting over forty tributaries and thousands upon thousands of streams along the way and empties into the Bohai Sea in Kenli County, Shandong Province. Thus it has become a might torrent with 5,464kilometers or 3395miles in total length and annual water yield of 48billion cubic meters. It has 752,443square kilometers in drainage area totally. With full of wists and turns, the water of the river starts out crystal clear with neither rolling waves nor roaring furious billows extending and flowing slowly eastward. But when it flowed into the common boundary of Shaanxi and Shanxi provinces, its way was held back by the broad loess plateau. However, its torrent cut the loess plateau into two, forming a deep valley by a great fall of 600meters,As the soil texture is loose here,so vegetation is damaged and topsoil eroded seriously. As a result, the water brings a great deal of topsoil from the plateau to the lower reaches, making the river a world-known muddy river, hence the name, the Yellow River. It had started to make troubles since ancient times,The river washed away large amounts of topsoil from the plateau, especially after a rainstorm. The erosion affects an area of 434,000square kilometers, and every year 1.6billion tons of topsoil from the plateau fell into the river, making the riverbed higher and higher. As a result, the riverbed in Kaifeng(another city is the province on the lower reaches of the Yellow River)is now higher than the city, leading to trouble on the 120,000-square-kilometer region of the lower reaches of the river, and making itself one of the most difficult rivers to be in control in the world.According to historical records,with2500years,26 changes of the Yellow River course occured and 1590 cases of disastrous flooding, hence the saying. The Yellow River brings disasters every year and breaks its dikes two times out of three.None of the provinces of the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River---Henan or Shandong could escape the floods. So old saying went:People go well-being,when the Yellow River becomes clear,Those, who father the Yellow River, appease the country,Taming the Yellow River has been the wishes of the Chinese people as well as the rulers of China since ancient times. The work of harnessing the Yellow River can be traced back to as early as over 4,000years ago,The stroy that Yu the Great passed by his home to work on the project of the Yellow River during the Xia Dynasty 4,000years ago is widely known is China. After the founding of new China in 1949,the Chinese Government turned special attention to harnessing the Yellow River. In October 1952,Chairman Mao Zedong made his first inspection tour to the Yellow River region and gave out a call upon the Chinese people,Work on the Yellow River must be done well, The central government held special meetings to summarize experiences and lessons on the control of the Yellow River, making overall plans for further harnessing of the river. One of them was to build a key dam at the mouth of the last gorge of the Yellow River in Xiaolangdi Village in Luoyang. However,it was only a long-range plan then, because we didn’t have the advantage or technical ability to build such a complicated and grand project in the newly founded China. So a series of workable measures was adopted, such as,building large water-control projects at the upper reaches, which was major means for the purpose of both generating electricity to bring benefit to the people and controlling the flow to ensure safety of the middle and lower reaches. The main work done at the middle reaches was promoting afforestation in a large scale so as to conserve water and soil. While at the lower reaches, reinforcing the river embankments by means of planting trees on both sides to heighten the ability of flood control .In addition, clearing the water by sedimentation was also adopted for integrated utilization of water and soil resources. More recently,President Jiang Zemin gave instruction,Make use of the harmful river so as to benefit the Chinese nation.More senior officials of the central government came to Luoyang to inspect the Yellow River. Finally,a historical important decision was made to build a giant project on the Yellow River in Luoyang-----the Xiaolangdi Water-control Project. It was listed as one of the most important state’s projects in China at the fourth plenary session of the Seventh National People’s Congress in 1991.Three years later that was in 1994 the former Premier Li Peng came to the spot purposely to exclaim the initiation of the historical grand project----the Yellow River Dam at Xiaolangdi. The Dam,built like a huge skewed wall with rock and cohesive soil filles inside,is 1317meters along and 281meter in heights, which is able to control the flood occurred once every thousand years. The total measurement of the reservoir is 12.65billoin cubic meters. Its final water level is 275meters above sea level, which 128kilometers in backwash and273.3square km in area,of which 199.2kilometers are in Henan Province, possessing 73.1%of the total. In addition, after being built, the project can reduce or slow down the sediment deposit in the river of 29years and prevent flood threat in the range of 120,000square kilometers .It can control an drainage area of 694,000 square kilometers accounting for 90%of the total, increasing 4 billion cubic meters of water supply, which can not only meet the needs of industrial use but also make the water supply rate of 1,500Mu Yellow River-irrigated area in the lower reaches rising from 30% at present to 75%.The total installed capacity of the hydroelectric power station is 1.56million kw,with an annual generating capacity of 5.1billion kwh.As the largest water-control project on the YellowRiver,Xioalangdi is able to play an important role not only in flood control, ice prevention, silt reduction, irrigation, water supply and electric power generation in Henan Province and even in the whole region of the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, but also in providing a new tourist attraction for tourist both at home and abroad. At present,a beautiful lake with a water surface of over 300 square km and green islands standing in like forest has already taken shape, which has formed a large area of tourist zone.It is as large as 1,262 square km in area, divided into four tourist attractions in total with 13tourist areas including 113scenic spots.According to the plan made by the province and the Ministry of Water Resources and Electric Power,a series of suited scenic spots will be built in a few years, which will be more appealing to tourists.。

关于介绍美丽的黄河风景线的作文英文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Mighty Yellow River and Its Amazing Sights!Hi everyone! Today I want to tell you all about the awesome Yellow River that runs through China. It's one of the longest rivers in the whole world and has so many cool things to see along it. My family took a trip following the river last summer and I saw sights that made my jaw drop! Let me tell you about some of the amazing places we visited.First up was the Binglingsi Grottoes near Yinchuan city. These are huge cave temples carved right into the side of a mountain cliff overlooking the Yellow River valley. They were built over 1,600 years ago! Can you believe people made those detailed carvings and paintings inside the caves that long ago? There are 183 grottoes with thousands of statues of Buddhist figures. My favorite one had a giant 27 meter tall Buddha statue. Just imagining the monks from centuries ago spending years carving that out of the solid rock blows my mind!Next we went to the Zhengzhou section of the river. That's where the famous Shaolin Monastery is located. Shaolin is the birthplace of Kung Fu and has been around since 495 AD. We got to watch the resident Buddhist monk martial artists do an amazing Kung Fu performance. The way they could jump, spin, and do flips while fighting with staffs and swords was like alive-action martial arts movie! After the show, we explored the ancient monastery buildings and got our fortunes told by one of the monks. He told me I would grow up to be a great warrior. How cool is that? The next incredible stop was Hukou Waterfall on the border between Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces. This is the second largest waterfall on the Yellow River and it's crazy powerful. Millions of gallons of water rush over the falls every minute, making a thundering roar you can hear from miles away. When we got up close, the spray from the crashing water was like a million tiny daggers striking my face. The force of that much water was mind-blowing. I felt like a tiny ant beside this massive natural wonder. But as amazing as those places were, my absolute favorite spot was the Qingtongxia Canyon outside Yinchuan. This giant canyon is 27 miles long and looks like something straight out ofan alien planet! The layers of different colored rocks swirling around in wild patterns was beautiful and eerie at the same time. We took a boat tour down the winding canyon and the cliffs towered over 600 feet above us. I've never felt so small! Our guide told us those rocks were over 270 million years old - before dinosaurs even existed. Standing there surrounded by that ancient, other-worldly landscape gave me chills. There were so many other awesome things we saw like the Rainbow Rock Valley, the city of Lanzhou built on the steep hills beside the river, and the huge statue of the Yellow River Mother. But I've already talked your ear off enough. Just know that following the Yellow River was an adventure I'll never forget. The history, natural wonders, and fascinating sights around every bend made me feel like a tiny explorer discovering new worlds. If you ever get a chance to travel the Mighty Yellow River, you have to go! It will blow your mind.篇2The Amazing Yellow River!Wow, the Yellow River is so cool! It's one of the biggest and longest rivers in the whole world. It goes for over 5,000 kilometers (that's like 3,000 miles!) across China from themountains in the west all the way to the ocean in the east. My family took an awesome trip to see the Yellow River last summer and I got to see so many amazing sights! We started our journey in Qinghai province way up in the mountains. That's where the Yellow River begins as tiny streams from melted snow and ice. We went hiking up to see the actual spot they call the source of the river. It was a beautiful green valley with sparkling blue pools of water bubbling up from underground. Cool waterfalls tumbled down the mountainsides into those pools, and that's where the mighty Yellow River is born! Can you believe a river that huge starts as just some little trickles? Seeing the pure source was magical. As we followed the river downstream, the scenery changed from snowy peaks to rolling hills covered in wildflowers and green meadows with animals grazing. We saw adorable yaks and long-haired cows wandering around munching on grass. At one point we came to a large lake called Achi Rer where the river paused for a while before continuing its journey. The lake was a stunning shade of turquoise from the glacial minerals. I got to go kayaking with my dad and we paddled right across it! Driving further, the valleys opened up into vast plains and desert areas with sand dunes as tall as buildings. Sometimes the road huggedthe edge of deep gorges with the raging yellow river rapids far below us. Those parts were a little scary but so awesome! My favorite stop was the city of Lanzhou in Gansu province. That's where we got to ride a boat right on the Yellow River itself!I loved watching the steep rocky cliffs and ancient fortresses glide by from the water. Our guide told us that boats have been sailing this stretch for over 2,000 years, transporting goods and people. He pointed out some petrified forests and fossils in the cliffside rock layers too. Walking through Lanzhou, I was amazed by the contrast of the modern city skyscrapers rising up from these ancient surroundings along the prehistoric Yellow River banks.Further downstream, the landscape flattened out into plains and deserts again before the river passed through the iconic Loess Plateau region. That's where the soil is this cool yellow color from all the minerals and sediments. I loved seeing the crazy shaped buttes, spires and ravines eroded into the soft loess soil over millions of years. Those natural sculptures looked like the ruins of an alien civilization or something! We visited cave dwellings carved right into the yellow cliffs where people have lived for centuries, escaping the hot summers and cold winters inside those cozy sun-baked homes. Our guide told us how backin ancient times, farmers here invented lots of innovative irrigation and planting techniques that allowed human civilization to thrive in harmony with this harsh environment, all thanks to the life-giving waters of the Yellow River. As we neared the ocean, the river slowed down and grew much wider and quieter. The banks turned greener with farms and rice fields lining the shores as it meandered through the flat lands toward the coastline. Finally after chasing it for thousands of kilometers across China's northern heartland, we made it all the way to the end where the mighty Yellow River meets the ocean and empties into the Yellow Sea! It felt like such an accomplishment to have followed this legendary river from its tiny trickle source all the way to its big finale. I'll never forget the sense of wonder seeing the endless flow of that muddy yellow water finally merge into the vastness of the ocean after its incredibly long journey across our country. The Yellow River trip was the coolest experience ever! I learned so much about the history, nature and culture surrounding this iconic waterway that has meant so much to China for over 5,000 years. Whether raging through deep gorges, meandering across vast plains, or slowly drifting through farmlands to the sea, the Yellow River's path is full of powerfulbeauty. I feel so lucky to have witnessed the river's majesty at all its different stages as it shaped the landscape, civilization and life of northern China with its precious waters. I'll always treasure the amazing memories of chasing the legendary Yellow River from source to sea!篇3The Amazing Yellow River SceneryHi friends! Today I want to tell you all about the awesome scenery along the Yellow River in China. The Yellow River is one of the biggest and most important rivers in my country. It flows for over 5,000 kilometers all the way from the mountains in western China to the Yellow Sea. Along the way, it passes through some of the most beautiful landscapes you can imagine!Let me start by telling you about Huangguoshu Waterfall. This gigantic waterfall is located in Guizhou Province in the upper part of the Yellow River basin. It's just massive - the largest yellow waterfall in Asia! The water rushes down from a height of 77.8 meters in a breathtaking cascade of yellow-colored spray. Seeing it from up close is like standing next to a thundering wall of water. But if you view it from further away, the waterfall lookslike a long golden ribbon being gently unfurled from the top of the cliffs. So pretty! From Huangguoshu, the river flows northeastward into Shaanxi Province. This area contains some of my favorite scenery - the Hukou Waterfall and the Yellow River Basaltic Waterfall Group. At Hukou Waterfall, the mighty Yellow River narrows intoa channel just 30 meters wide and then plunges violently down a50 meter drop! The sheer force of all that water crashing together is unbelievable. You can feel the power of the waterfall from over a kilometer away! The Yellow River Basaltic Waterfalls are a series of gorgeous terraced waterfalls tumbling down layers of basalt rock. I love how each little stream branches off into dozens of slim ribbons of water gliding over the dark volcanic stone.Further downstream is another one of the great highlights - the breathtaking Qingtongxia Canyon in Ningxia. This incredible canyon slices for over 20 kilometers through layers of red sandstone rock. From certain viewpoints along the rim, you can look straight across the canyon walls to the opposite cliffs over 500 meters away! At the deepest point, the canyon bottom is an astonishing 400 meters below the rim. Walking along the trails on top of the canyon gives you a bird's eye view of the windingyellow river snaking its way through the narrow gorge far below. The shapes, colors, and textures of the eroded rock formations are endlessly fascinating. After passing through the canyon, the river emerges into Zhenbeibu Valley, which has some of the most spectacular desert scenery anywhere on the river. Here, huge arches and pillars of red sandstone soar above the river plains, sculpted into crazy shapes by millennia of wind erosion. Some of the rock arches are over 20 meters tall! The most iconic is the Zhaze Pillar, a towering obelisk of stone that was once straddled by two gigantic arches. The larger arch collapsed long ago, but its "arms" still reach up towards the remaining pillar in a dramatic embrace. Seeing this scenery bathed in the soft golden light of sunrise or sunset is magical. As the river continues eastward across the vast plains of northern China, the landscape becomes flatter but no lessawe-inspiring. The city of Zhengzhou is surrounded by vibrant yellow rapeseed fields that seem to glow like molten gold when in bloom. It's simply a sea of brilliant yellow flowers stretching to the horizon! Nearby is the Huayuankou section of the Yellow River, a particularly scenic stretch of meandering waterways lined by bright green willows. The vibrant colors and patterns createdby the contrasts of blue river, green trees, and yellow blossoms make it a photographer's dream. Finally, the river reaches the ocean in the marshy wetlands surrounding Dongying city in Shandong Province. This is one of the most important wetland ecosystems in China, teeming with all kinds of rare birds, fish, and other wildlife. Boardwalks and viewing platforms allow visitors to admire the area's biodiversity without disturbing the delicate habitats. My favorite is the Lanhui Wetland Park, where you can spot gorgeous birds like the grey heron, oriental stork, and black-faced spoonbill wading through the shallow ponds and grassy marshes. It's an amazing place to experience the unspoiled beauty of nature.Well, that's a quick tour of some of the most stunning scenery found along the legendary Yellow River! From powerful waterfalls to otherworldly desert landscapes to vibrant wetlands, this mighty river offers an incredibly diverse array of breathtaking natural vistas. I feel so lucky to live in a country with such amazing scenery literally overflowing with beauty and wonder around every bend. I can't wait to go explore more of the amazing Yellow River on my next family vacation!篇4The Amazing Yellow River JourneyHi friends! During our spring break, my family and I went on an awesome trip along the Yellow River in China. The Yellow River is one of the biggest rivers in the whole world and it's famous for its pretty scenery. I'm going to tell you all about the amazing places we saw on our Yellow River journey! We started our trip in the province of Qinghai, which is way up in northwest China. That's where the Yellow River begins at a place called the Amne Machin grasslands. The grasslands were so green and stretched out as far as I could see. Yaks were grazing on the grass and the snow-capped mountains looked like frosted cupcakes in the distance. We took a little hike and the fresh mountain air smelled so nice and crisp.Next, we followed the Yellow River east into Sichuan province. That's where the river goes through a very deep and narrow canyon called the Longxi Grand Canyon. We took a little boat ride along the river and the canyon walls towered above us on both sides. They were made of red and orange sandstone that glowed in the sunlight. Our guide told us the canyon used to be under an ancient ocean millions of years ago - how crazy is that?! We even saw fossilized seashells embedded in the canyon walls. After leaving the grand canyon, we visited the ancient town of Songpan in northern Sichuan. It had traditional Chinese buildings with curved roofs and little shops selling all kinds of tasty snacks. We walked across the river on an old stone bridge and watched the yellow waters rushing underneath. Songpan was such a peaceful place. Our journey continued into Gansu province, where the Yellow River goes through an area called the Loess Plateau. This was one of my favorite parts! The plateau had these wild, rolling hills made of a yellow soil called loess. It looked almost like the surface of an alien planet! We climbed up and rolled down the soft loess hills just for fun. But we had to be careful not to get too close to the edges, because the loess can crack and crumble. In Gansu, we also visited the ancient Buddhist Mogao Caves that were carved right into the sides of a huge desert cliff. The caves had beautiful painted murals on the walls that depicted stories of Buddha and his disciples. The colors were still so vibrant even after a thousand years. Outside, there was nothing but sand dunes and desert as far as you could see. I felt like I had stepped back in time! After leaving the desert, the Yellow River flowed into Henan province and an area called the Song Mountains. These weredefinitely the curviest, twistiest mountains I've ever seen! The Yellow River twisted and looped through the bumpy peaks like a roller coaster. We took a small boat ride and went under natural arches made of swirling yellow rock. Our guide said the patterns in the rock were formed over millions of years by minerals in the river water. So cool!We ended our trip in Shandong province, where the Yellow River finally meets the Yellow Sea. By that point, the river was absolutely huge and filled with big cargo ships! We visited a city called Dongying that had cool towering skyscrapers right along the river's edge. At night, the skyscrapers lit up in brilliant colors that reflected in the river's waters. On our last day, we went to a beach and built sandcastles while watching the sun set over the Yellow Sea. It was such a beautiful, peaceful way to end our amazing journey.I saw so many incredible sights along the Yellow River - from soaring mountains to deep canyons to painted caves to winding deserts. The scenery changed every few days but the Yellow River kept guiding us forward. I'll never forget the thrill of traveling along one of the longest rivers on Earth and discovering new wonders around every bend. If you ever get achance to take a trip like that, you totally should! It was an adventure I'll never forget.篇5The Amazing Yellow River SceneryHi everyone! Today I want to tell you all about the incredible scenery along the famous Yellow River in China. The Yellow River is one of the most important rivers in my country and there are so many beautiful views to see as you travel along it. Let me describe some of the amazing sights!First up is Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River. This waterfall is located right where the Yellow River meets another river called the Hulu River. The water rushes over the rocks and cliffs, crashing down in a powerful flow. The sound of the waterfall roaring is so loud you can hear it from far away! During the spring when there is a lot of water, the waterfall gets even bigger and more impressive. I went to visit Hukou Waterfall last year and it was breathtaking seeing all that water gushing down. Make sure to bring a raincoat though, because you'll get sprayed by the mist from the falls!Another must-see spot is called the Qingtongxia Canyon on the Yellow River. This giant canyon has steep yellow cliffs thatglow warmly in the sunlight. The river winds its way through the towering canyon walls, sparkling blue against the golden rocks. I felt so tiny standing at the edge of the canyon and looking out across it! Tour boats take visitors along the river through the canyon so you can appreciate the grand scale of this natural wonder. At certain times of year, you can even see landslides tumbling down the cliffs into the waters below. How exciting! One of my personal favorite places is Binglingsi Grottoes. These are a series of ancient caves and shrines carved into the cliffs right beside the Yellow River. Inside the caves are incredible Buddhist statues, carvings, and wall paintings dating back over 1,600 years! Just imagining all the work that went into creating these masterpieces in the rock is amazing. My class took a field trip to the Binglingsi Grottoes and I'll never forget how it felt stepping into those historic caves full of beautiful art. It was like traveling back in time! The Qilian Mountains are another stunning sight found along the Yellow River's path. These rugged, snow-capped mountain peaks tower over the winding river below. Taking a boat tour along this stretch, you'll be surrounded by the dramatic scenery of soaring mountains, deep valleys, and the bright azure waters of the Yellow River. The mountains lookpurple in the distance and glow all sorts of warm colors at sunset. Doesn't that sound magical? I dream of one day going hiking and camping in those remote and epic Qilian ranges. Finally, we can't forget about the amazing prehistoric sites found near the Yellow River! In Ningxia, you can visit an area called Shizigou where fossils of dinosaurs, mammals, and even ancient human relatives have been discovered. There is a whole museum full of dinosaur bones, eggs, and footprints found right near the river. How crazy is that?! Getting to see those gigantic dinosaur skeletons up close was one of the coolest experiences ever. The Yellow River region is absolutely full of remnants from millions of years of history. There are endless other beautiful rivers, canyons, mountains, ancient ruins, and natural wonders waiting to be explored all along the path of the Yellow River. I've only scratched the surface describing the amazing scenery you can witness there. Isn't the landscape just breathtaking? I feel so lucky to live in a country with such incredible sights. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to go on an epic adventure traveling the entire length of the legendary Yellow River! For now, I'll have to settle for sharing my dreams of its majestic scenery with all of you. Thank you for reading my essay!篇6The Wonderful Yellow River and Its Amazing ViewsThe Yellow River is one of the most incredible rivers in the whole world! It's super long - over 5,400 kilometers (3,300 miles)! That makes it the sixth longest river on Earth. The Yellow River flows through nine provinces in China, starting way up in the mountains in western China and ending where it pours into the Bohai Sea in eastern China. I'm so lucky to live near this awesome river and I've gotten to see lots of the amazing scenery along its banks. Let me tell you all about it!The Source of the Yellow RiverThe start of the Yellow River is in the Bayan Har Mountains on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Up there, the river begins as lots of little streams coming together from melting snow and glaciers. The area is super high up at over 4,000 meters (13,000 feet) above sea level! The mountains are giant and rocky and there is hardly any greenery. It's freezing cold with ice and snow everywhere. But those tiny streams join up to form the mighty Yellow River!Heading Through the Loess PlateauAfter leaving the freezing mountain source, the Yellow River travels across the huge Loess Plateau that covers a big part of northwestern China. This area has really cool scenery that looks almost like another planet. The plateau is made of ayellowy-brown soil called loess that was deposited there by winds over thousands of years. The loess has eroded into these crazy shapes with tall peaks, deep valleys, and spiraling ridges. It reminds me of a desert planet from Star Wars! The locals have built lots of cave dwellings dug right into the cliffs of the loess soil. People have lived in these cave houses for centuries, staying cool in the summer and warm in winter. It's wild to see these village cave homes nestled into the bizarre yellow loess landscape along the river's banks. I'd love to live in a cave house!Dramatic Gorges and Towering CliffsAs the Yellow River continues east, it cuts through several huge gorges with sheer cliffs towering over the raging waters. The Hukou Waterfall is one of the most spectacular sights. Here, the entire massive river gets squeezed through a narrow gap only 20 meters (65 feet) wide and plunges down in violent rapids and whitewater. From certain viewpoints, it looks like the wholeriver is pouring over the edge of a cliff in one gargantuan waterfall! So powerful and amazing.Another highlight is Qingtong Gorge, where the river squeezes between gigantic 2,000 meter (6,500 foot) cliffs. Parts of the gorge are only 20 meters (65 feet) wide but over 700 meters (2,300 feet) deep! You can take boat tours into the gorge and gaze up at the towering golden cliffs dwarfing you. I went on one and it was a little scary with the high cliffs looming over us, but mostly just super cool. The Incredible Views Around Huang He Grand CanyonThe most famous scenery along the Yellow River is around a huge canyon area called Huang He Grand Canyon. It's this enormous gorge system with soaring cliffs, twisting valleys, pinnacles and rock spires, and the raging yellow river flowing through it all. The views are just mind-blowing and seem to stretch out forever. From certain viewpoints, you can look out across a vast sea of eroded peaks and buttes as far as the eye can see, all carved from the soft rock in every shade of red, orange, and yellow. It feels like you're staring out across an alien world or the landscape of some far-off desert planet! The colors are so vivid, especially in the soft light of sunrise and sunset.I remember hiking along a trail through one part of the canyon where the cliffs towered over 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) straight up on both sides. The river rushed along below, a thin ribbon of gold snaking through the gigantic gorge. We passed these insane twisted rock formations and petrified forests of stone pillars. It was like a maze of intricate and alien landforms. So wild!My favorite spot was called the Water Viewing Pavilion. It stuck out from the edge of a massive cliff with the whole panorama of tangled canyons and yellow rock spires unfurling before us. The setting sun bathed everything in oranges and reds and turned the river into a glowing channel of molten gold. It felt like being on the surface of Mars or something! The views were just breathtaking.Colorful Reed Marshes of the Lower Yellow RiverAfter all the mountains and canyons, the final stretch of the Yellow River flows onto the flatter plains of eastern China and becomes much calmer. Here, the river is lined with huge expanses of reed marshes. Millions of tall reeds stretch out in every direction, rustling gently in the breeze. Their yellows, browns, and oranges make a warm patchwork quilt appearance. In the morning mist, the marshes take on an enchanted look with swirls of fog drifting through the reeds. And in the soft light of sunrise and sunset, the whole marsh seems to glow golden. It feels very peaceful and serene exploring the little paths winding through this vast reed world. And it's one of the best places to spot migratory birds that stop to rest in the marshes on their long journeys, like gorgeous cranes and colorful ducks. So as you can see, the scenery along the Yellow River is just amazing from start to finish! The views change completely from icy mountain peaks, to desert-like badlands, to dizzying canyons and rock spires, to tranquil reed marshes. With the golden river connecting them all, it's an incredible journey through some of the most unique and memorable landscapes on the whole planet.I feel so lucky to have explored a lot of it myself, but there's still so much more beauty left to discover!。

The scenic area is surprisingly beautiful. As seen from a high point in this scenic area, the mighty Yellow River rushes by and demonstrates tremendous force with rolling and falling of the river's torrents. Sometimes in its thousands of miles, the river reaches wide endless plains where currents flow smoothly, and sometimes it meets precipitous mountains where it has to zigzag its way.The Yellow River Scenic Area embraces five scenic spots, namely the Five Dragons Peak, the Camel Mountain Range, the Yueshan Temple, the Stone Figures of Yandi and Huangdi, and the Ancient City of Liu Bang and Xiang Yu. Among them, the Five Dragons Peak is the central area.Five Dragons PeakFive Dragons is named after a range of five mountains. From a distance, you see ancient pavilions, both large and small, of many designs scattered on the mountains among ancient pines and cypresses. To catch a broad view of the Yellow River, come to Jimu Pavilion on the top of the Five Dragons Peak. From here you can see the mighty river, which has nourished Chinese for thousands of years. Here you see a sculpture of a mother's figure named 'Nourishing'. 三峡英文导游词Introduction to Three Gorges DamGood afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the Three Gorges Dam. The dam is the world's largest hydroelectric power station located in the heart of China. It spans across the Yangtze River, one of the longest rivers in the world. It is an engineering marvel that is not only important in China but also across the world.History and ConstructionThe idea for the Three Gorges Dam was first proposed in the early 1900s as an effort to control the flooding of the Yangtze River. However, it wasn't until the mid-20th century that the Chinese government began looking into the idea seriously. In 1994, construction of the dam began and after 17 years, it was officially opened in 2011.Design and FeaturesThe Three Gorges Dam is an impressive structure, standing at 181 meters tall and 2.3 kilometers wide. The dam is designed to control the flooding of the Yangtze River, provide hydroelectric power, and improve navigation. The reservoir created by the dam is over 660 kilometers long and spans across three provinces in central China.Environmental ImpactThe construction of the Three Gorges Dam has had both positiveand negative effects on the environment. The dam has helped control flooding, which has saved many lives and reduced damage to property. It has also generated electricity, which has reduced China's dependence on coal power. However, the dam has had an adverse impact on the environment. The dam has disrupted the natural flow of the Yangtze River, which has affected the ecology of the area. It has also caused the displacement of over a million people who lived in the area.Visiting the Three Gorges DamVisiting the Three Gorges Dam is a unique and educational experience. Visitors can take a tour of the dam and learn about its history, construction, and environmental impact. The dam also offers an opportunity to take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding area.ConclusionThe Three Gorges Dam is a testament to the ingenuity of engineers and the perseverance of the Chinese people. It has improved the lives of millions of people through flood control and electricity generation. However, the dam has also had a significant environmental impact, which highlights the importance of considering long-term consequences when planning large-scale projects. I hope that this introduction to the Three Gorges Dam has been educational and enjoyable, and I encourage you to explore the area further to fully appreciate its beauty and significance. Thank you for joining me on this tour.Continuation:The construction of the Three Gorges Dam required not only engineering expertise but also a significant investment of resources. Over 1.2 million people were involved in the construction of the dam, which had a total budget of around US$28 billion. The dam was constructed with over 28 million cubic meters of concrete and over 27 million cubic meters of excavation. The dam’s primary purpose is to control the flooding of the Yangtze River, which has been a significant challenge for centuries. The river has long been prone to devastating floods that have caused widespread destruction and loss of life. With the Three Gorges Dam, the Chinese government hoped to prevent such disasters in the future, and it has been largely successful in this regard. In addition to flood control, the dam produces a considerable amount of electricity. The dam has a total installed capacity of 22,500 megawatts, which is enough to power about 10% of China's energy needs. The dam also helps to reduce China's dependence on coal power, which has helped to lower the country's overall greenhouse gas emissions. While the dam has made a significant positive impact in terms of flood control and energy production, it has also had significant detrimental effects on the environment. The construction of the dam resulted in the displacement of over a million people who lived in the area, leading to significant social and economic disruption. The reservoir created by the dam flooded over 1,300 archaeological and cultural sites, leading to the loss of many rare artifacts and historical landmarks.Furthermore, the dam has disrupted the natural flow of the Yangtze River, causing significant environmental harm. The river's ecology has been disrupted, leading to the displacement of wildlife and the extinction of some species. The dam has also impacted the quality of the river water, with some experts claiming that this has led to increased pollution and reduced water quality. In conclusion, the Three Gorges Dam is a massive structural achievement that has helped to modernize China's infrastructure and improve the lives of millions of Chinese people. However, it has also had significant environmental and social impacts and has demonstrated the need for careful consideration of long-term consequences when pursuing large-scale projects. Despite these issues, the Three Gorges Dam remains a must-see destination for visitors to China, offering a glimpse into the country's history, culture, and engineering marvels.。
