However, unfortunately, in our lives, and to be not at all surprising misfortune. We should pay attention to. It is the end of life in high wade in.To avoid the unfortunate people, will not get rid of misfortune; lament the unfortunate people, will not weaken misfortune; yield unfortunate people, not out of misfortune. The same unfortunate people who struggle, will relieve the pain of the unfortunate misfortune, down to a minimum. To the unfortunate people, can only become the unfortunate prisoner, was unfortunately a swallow. If unfortunately a ladder, you can see the light; if unfortunately as a slide, can only be stuck in the mud.The more people are in a crisis, the more they have to keep calm and come up with a solution to the crisisOnce a woodcutter and his wife lived in the village. 英语小故事演讲稿三分钟1It is easy to describe success in terms of money, fame and reputation. But I believe that success is not external. I believe that success comes from within. My definition of success is to be true to yourself, and be true to others. That means, that you must cherish your personal ideal even in the face of adversity. I also believe that success is not discriminatory. Success is not restricted to such a class of people, in fact, it may be achieved by any person irrespective of his race, creed, gender and economic background. A good example of success is that of Beethoven. He is one of the world's most famous composers, yet he was deaf. He could not hear the majestic pieces of music that he created. Yet, in the face of this adversity, he was able to maintain his ideals''that of composing music. To exemplify what success means to me, I pose a question to all of you. What brings us together here today? I believe that it is the beauty of the spoken word. The effect of pause and the sound of rhetoric are unique to the spoken word. I believe the beauty of the spoken word is even stronger for those who have difficulty in expressing themselves. These people are reclusive and had their emotions hidden within them. I once went to Australia and I saw two pictures, Once was drawn by a normal child, the other was drawn by a child with social inhibitions. The picture drawn by the normal child was simple and plain. The other was life'like, full ofdetails and imagination. What this shows is that these are ideas, emotions and feelings that are locked internally in these children. My ideal is to be the key, spreading the beauty of the spoken words to these children. These children have been neglected, but I feel that I can and should help these children to find themselves and be able to express themselves.I realize that this is a difficult task, and there are many obstacles on the way. But I believe in my ideals and I will stick to them''even in the face of adversity. We should never have a premature abortion of ideals'let the child, let our ideals, stand the challenge. For a life without ideals is not living.Thank you!英语小故事演讲稿三分钟2today i am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. what is success? it is what everyone is longing for.sometimes success would be rather simple. winning a game is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success; making a new friend is success; even now i am standing here giving my speech is somehow also success.however, as a person's whole life is concerned, success becomes very complicated. is fortune success? is fame success? is high social status success? no, i don’t think so. i believe success is the realization of people's hopes and ideals.nowadays, in the modern society there are many people who are regarded as the successful. and the most obvious characteristics of them are money, high position and luxurious life. so most people believe that s success and all that they do is for this purpose. but the problem is wether it is real success. we all know there are always more money, higher position and better condition in front of us. if we keep chasing them, where is the end? what will satisfyus at last? therefore, we can see, to get the real success we must need something inside, which is the realization of people's hopes and ideals.different people have different ideas about success; cause people's hopes and ideas vary from one another. but i am sure every success is dear to everybody, cause it is not easy to come by, cause in the process of our striving for success, we got both our body and soul tempted, meanwhile we are enlightened by the most valuable qualities of human beings: love, patient, courage and sense of responsibility. these are the best treasures. so now i am very proud that i have this opportunity to stand here speaking to all of you. it is my success, cause i raise up to challenge my hope.what is success? everyone has his own interpretation as i do. but i am sure every success leads to an ever-brighter future. so ladies and gentlemen, believe in our hopes, believe in ourselves, we, every one of us, can make a successful life!wish you all good success!英语小故事演讲稿三分钟3the east and the west, let’s enjoy the combination of the two cultures?kipling said:“east is east, and west is west, and never the twain shall meet!” but now, a century later, they have met.they have met in business. they have met in education. they have met in the arts. some people will argue that these meetings will leave us with a choice between east and west, but i believe that the best future lies in the creative combination of both worlds. we can make western ideas, customs and technology our own, and adapt them to our own use. we can enjoy the best of both worlds, because our tradition is, above all, one of selectingthe best and making it our own.i love beijing and hennan opera because it always reminds me of who i am. but i am also a fan of pop music, especially english songs. so i have combined eastern melody with western language. it is called western henna opera.when two cultures meet, there may be things in one culture, which do not fit into the tradition of the other. when this happens, we need to learn to understand and respect the customs of another culture. then there are certain things some people may not like. to this, i will say, if you do not like it, please try to tolerate it. to learn to tolerate what you personally don’t like is a great virtue at a time when different cultures mix and merge. before us, there are two rivers, eastern and western cultures. at present, they may run in different courses. but eventually, they will converge into the vast sea of human culture.right now, i can see peoples of eastern and western cultures, standing side by side, singing the olympic theme song: we are hand in hand, heart to heart, together we will shape a beautiful tomorrow! thank you!英语小故事演讲稿三分钟4once upon a time, a weenie ant was walking on his way. as he was walking, suddenly he felt the ground shaking terribly. he looked around with his paranoid eyes and saw an elephant walking right behind him. quickly, the little ant covered himself with dirt, but one leg was unfortunately left out. a sparrow saw everything, so she flew down with the purpose of teasing the ant: “hey, chicken! watch out your leg, it’s out!” the ant felt embarrassed at first but then calmly responded: “ shi…i am going to trip that elephant.”right now, i’m standing on this glamorous stage. buteverything here reminds me of is a not so fun memory. around this time last year i was in nanjing competing in another speech contest. that was the first time for me to be in such a large event. of course the pressure i was under was immense too. after a sleepless and stressful night, i went onto that stage without the feeling in my legs. that speech turned out to be horrible. i do n’t remember how i get down from there, but i do remember afterwards i just wanted to find a hole to hide in just like the ant in the story. back at my school, it took a long time for me to recover. thanks to all the help i got from my special friends. my confidence was restored. after rounds of giving speeches and answering tough questions, i am here today. from all that i’ve been through i’ve learned that a good future is based on a forgotten past, if i want my life to go on well i have to let go of my past failure. so today, with out fear, i am tripping my elephant again.英语小故事演讲稿三分钟5In my 18 years of life, there have been many things. University days are the best part of them. I can never forget the days when I stepped into my university. I was impressed by its garden'like campus, its enthusiastic students and especially its learning atmosphere. I at once fell in love with it.After the arduous military training, I get absolutely absorbed in my studies. The classes given by the teachers are excellent. They provide us with information not only from our textbooks but from many other sources as well. They easily arouse my insatiable desire to take in as much as I can.Frankly speaking, at first I had some difficulty following the teachers. However, through my own efforts and thanks to my teachers' guidance, I made remarkable progress. Now I'vebenefited a lot from lectures and many other academic reports.Learning is a long process; I'll keep exploring in the treasure house of knowledge to enrich myself. This summer I got out of the ivory tower and entered the real world. A publishing house offered me a part'time job in compilation and revision. At the beginning I was belittled by my colleagues. But they were really surprised when I translated seven English articles over 5,000 words on only one day. Gradually, they began to look at me with respectful eyes. In their opinion I turned out to be a useful and trustworthy colleague.I also realize that only those who bring happiness for others can be truly happy. So I often take part in activities concerning public welfare. I once went to a barren mountain village with my classmates. We taught the kids there who could not afford school. While showing them how broad and how civilized the outer world is, I was deeply touched by their eagerness to learn, their honesty and their purity. I couldn't control my tears on the day when we left. The precious experience with the poor kids made me aware of the responsibility on the shoulders of us, future teachers.。

But for me , I think I haveresponsibilities to fulfill all the day. So every morning my first jobis to choose what kind of day I am going to have. Today I can complainbecause it is rainy or I can be grateful that the grass is watered forfree.Today I can feel sad because I don’t have more money or I can be glad that it will prevent me from wasting.Today I can feel very down because of a bad cold or I can rejoice that I am still alive.Today I can lament over all that my parents didn’t give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.Today I can be disappionted for my lack of friends or I can be excited to discover new relationships.Today I can be exhausted because I have too much homework to do or I can feel honored because I’m getting closer to my dream in this way. What today will be like is just up to ourselves. We can get to choose what kind of day we will have! As teenagers,we stilll have much time to achieve our dreams, but the way to success is not so easy.If we choose to face it in a good mood and carry on trying,I believe we can enjoy the whole process and get to the destination of success much more easily and happily. In fact, everything depends on your own attitude. If you choose to be happy and positive, you will enjoy your work and have a good time.If you choose to be sad and negative, nothing good will come to you and your life will be colourless. The world around us is so beautiful. There is no reason why we don’t enjoy it.So,everybody, let’s choose to be happy everyday!Ok,that’s all. Thanks for listening!3分钟英语演讲小故事 (3) Christmas was coming .Mr Smith had no money to buy any presents forhis children .His wife was ill and he spent a lot of money on hermedicine .And the harvest was bad and all his family were going go be hungrythe next spring .He was quite worried about it .“We had only a cock ,”said Mrs Smith one day .“You’d better takeit to the town .Sell it there and buy some cakes and sweets for ourchildren .”“It’s a good idea !”the man said and caught the cock the next morningand put it into a box .It was difficult to walk on the road covered withthick snow .Two hours later he was very tied and wanted to have a rest .Heput the box to the ground and sat down .“The air in the box must be close ,”the man said to himself .“I’d better let the cock walk outside for a while ,or it’ll die .”So he put the cock to the ground .When he started again ,he couldn’t catch it any longer .“How foolish you are !”Mr Smith called out angrily .“You can heraldthe break of day at night but you cann’t find the way to the town in thedaytime !”3分钟英语演讲小故事 (4)A BetTwo pals are sitting in a pub watching the eleven-'clock news。

英语故事演讲稿3分钟6篇英语故事演讲稿3分钟 (1) How well are we in tune with the rhythm of life? In our busy day today existence, we don’t often stop to ask ourselves this question. Atleast I don’t. And it wasn’t until I joined a competitive sporting eventthat I learned a most important lesson – we must place our mind in harmonywith the natural order of things to be successful.Let me tell you what happened.I decided to take part in an International Marathon in my hometownlast year. Being an ambitious person, I hoped to finish it within 5 hours, accompanied by my friend with whom I had trained. The big day finally arrived. "Ready...set...bang" And we were off.At first, we kept a rapid pace and ran nonstop. At this pace, wefinished the first 20 kilometers in 2 hours and I thought running amarathon was a piece of cake. Then my running mate began to slow down.I urged him to keep running at the same pace but he said no, he wantedto conserve his energy. I felt I had partnered with the wrong person, therefore, I sprinted on and left him behind in the dust.A few kilometers later, I began to understand his strategy as my paceslowed to a jog then a walk. After that I was incapable of moving anotherstep. I was humiliated as more and more people ran passed me. More thanonce I thought "Maybe I should quit." I started to doubt my ability tofinish this race.At this moment, my running mate caught up with me and slapped me onthe back. “Follow me,” he shouted. He had balanced his marathon paceand was encouraged me to do the same. For the rest of this grueling contest,we walked, jogged, ran a few miles, and walked again. Slowly, painfullybut hopefully this time, we established the most suitable pace within thenatural flow of our physical capabilities.Eventually we accomplished our first Marathon of 42 kilometers in 4and half hours. I asked myself, what did this marathon mean to me? MyMarathon experience became an influential metaphor for my life about howwe must learn to pace ourselves in everything, by being in tune with therhythm of life.Like the tide that ebbs and flows, we must listen to advice but makeour own decisions. Like the show at dawn and dusk, we must learn to balancepride and modesty. And from the way the wind can both shout and whisper,we must learn when to be strong and when to be gentle, for everything movesin its own rhythm and its own yin and yang elements. It is the interactionof these complementary extremes that produces harmony, as Laozi said, extremes meet. Since the marathon, this notion of two opposite forcesworking together has been my running partner, so to speak. Yin and yangexist everywhere, constantly interacting, and never existing in anabsolute condition.Ladies and Gentlemen, life is like running a marathon, let us discover, define and develop a natural rhythm of life, in order to achieve bothharmony and success.Thank you for listening.英语故事演讲稿3分钟 (2)A minute does farm work, a minute harvestA minute does farm work, aminute harvest! 第1篇Ladies and gentlemen,Good morning/afternoon/evening. It is my great pleasure to stand before you today to share with you a magical experience that can be encapsulated within just three minutes—a story that, despite its brevity, can leave a lasting impression on our hearts and minds.Imagine a world where time stands still, and every moment is filled with wonder. In this world, there is a little girl named Lily, who lives in a small village surrounded by lush green forests and crystal-clear lakes. Lily is an ordinary girl with an extraordinary dream: to become a writer who can touch the lives of others through her words. One sunny morning, Lily found an old, dusty journal in her grandmother's attic. As she flipped through the pages, she discovered stories of love, loss, and hope that had been forgotten over time. Inspired by these tales, Lily decided to embark on her own journey to create her own stories.Lily spent her days wandering through the village, observing the people and their lives. She noticed the elderly man who spent every afternoon feeding pigeons, the young couple who fought constantly but loved deeply, and the little boy who was too shy to speak but had a heart full of dreams. Each person became a character in her mind, waiting to bebrought to life on the page. One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Lily sat down at her grandmother's old wooden desk, and with a quill pen in hand, she beganto write. She wrote about the village, its people, and the magic that seemed to permeate the air. She wrote about the joy of finding a lost pet, the sorrow of a lost loved one, and the hope that comes from the smallest acts of kindness. As she wrote, she felt a connection to the characters that was almost tangible. She could hear their voices, see their faces, and feel their emotions. It was as if she had become a bridge between the world of the real and the world of her imagination. One day, while Lily was walking through the forest, she stumbled upon a mysterious, glowing light. Curiosity piqued, she followed the lightuntil she reached a hidden clearing. In the center of the clearing stood a majestic tree, its branches adorned with golden leaves. As she approached the tree, the light enveloped her, and she felt a surge of energy course through her body. When the light faded, Lily found herself back in the clearing, but the tree had transformed into a portal. She stepped through the portal and found herself in a world where stories were real, and the characters she had created were living, breathing beings. She met the elderly man, the young couple, and the little boy, each of them thanking her for the impact her words had had on their lives. In that world, Lily realized that the magic of a three-minute story was not just in the time it took to tell it, but in the power it held to transform lives. She learned that stories have the ability to heal, to inspire, and to connect us to each other in ways that words alone cannot.Returning to her own world, Lily continued to write, but this time with a deeper understanding of the magic of her craft. She shared her stories with others, and they too were touched by the power of her words. Her stories became a beacon of hope, a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always light to be found.Ladies and gentlemen, the magic of a three-minute story lies not in its length, but in its ability to captivate our attention, touch our hearts, and remind us of the beauty that exists in the world. Whether it's atale of love, loss, or hope, a well-crafted story has the power to change us, to inspire us, and to make us believe in the magic that surrounds us.Thank you for listening to Lily's story. May we all find the magicwithin ourselves to create our own tales that will be remembered for generations to come.Thank you.第2篇Ladies and gentlemen,Good morning/afternoon/evening. Today, I stand before you to share a story that encapsulates the magic of a moment, a moment that changed my life forever. Allow me to take you through a journey of love, friendship, and the beauty of unexpected encounters.Once upon a time, in a small, picturesque town nestled between rolling hills and a sparkling river, there lived a young girl named Emily. She had long, wavy brown hair, sparkling blue eyes, and a heart full of dreams. Emily was an only child, and her parents doted on her. She spent her days exploring the town, making friends with the animals, and daydreaming about adventures in faraway lands. One crisp autumn morning, Emily's life took an unexpected turn. She had been playing near the river's edge when she noticed a small, golden retriever puppy wandering alone. The puppy looked lost and scared, its big brown eyes filled with fear. Emily's heart went out to the little creature, and without hesitation, she decided to take him home.Back at her house, Emily's parents were thrilled to meet her new companion. They named him Lucky, and from that day on, he became an integral part of their family. Lucky brought joy and laughter to their lives, and Emily's days were filled with new adventures andunforgettable moments. One sunny afternoon, Emily and Lucky were exploring the hillssurrounding the town when they stumbled upon a hidden grove. The grove was filled with towering trees, their leaves rustling in the gentle breeze. In the center of the grove, there was a crystal-clear pond, its surface reflecting the vibrant colors of the autumn leaves. As they wandered deeper into the grove, they discovered an old, weathered chest buried beneath a pile of leaves. Emily's curiosity got the better of her, and she decided to dig it out. With a little effort, they unearthed the chest, revealing a collection of old letters, photographs, and mementos. As they sifted through the contents of the chest, Emily discovered a story that connected her family to the town's history. The letters revealed that her great-grandmother had once owned the grove, and she had shared a deep, enduring friendship with a mysterious man named Alexander. The photographs showed a young Alexander, his eyes alight with passion and determination. Emily couldn't help but feel a connection to the man, as if she were part of a long, forgotten tale. She was fascinated by the stories of love, loss, and adventure that the chest held. One evening, as Emily and her family gathered around the fireplace, she shared the tale of Alexander with them. Her parents listened in awe, never having known the story before. They marveled at the connection to the past and the sense of wonder that filled Emily's heart.Days turned into weeks, and Emily's friendship with Lucky grew stronger. They continued to explore the grove, uncovering more secrets and mysteries with each visit. The magic of the place seemed to be alive, breathing through the trees and the water. One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Emily and Lucky sat by the pond, gazing at the reflection of the stars. In that moment, Emily felt an overwhelming sense of peace and fulfillment. She realized that the magic of the moment was not just the stories of the past, but the love and friendship she shared with Lucky. As the years passed, Emily grew up and moved away to pursue her dreams. Lucky remained behind, a constant reminder of the magic of that moment. Emily often returned to the grove, her heart filled with gratitude for the lessons she had learned and the love she had found.Ladies and gentlemen, the magic of a moment is a powerful force. It can bring joy, love, and unforgettable memories into our lives. It can connect us to the past and inspire us to dream bigger. And it can remind us that the beauty of life is often found in the simple, unexpected encounters. In the story of Emily and Lucky, we see the magic of a moment come to life. It is a story of love, friendship, and the enduring power of memories. Let us all cherish these moments, for they are the threadsthat weave the tapestry of our lives.Thank you for listening.第3篇Ladies and gentlemen,Good morning/afternoon/evening. It is my great pleasure to stand before you today and share with you a story that has transcended time and space, a tale of love, resilience, and the beauty of nature. Allow me to take you on a journey through the ages, to a place where the past and the present coexist in perfect harmony – The Timeless Garden.Once upon a time, in a small village nestled between rolling hills and a serene lake, there stood an ancient garden. This garden was no ordinary place; it was a sanctuary, a place where dreams took root and soulsfound solace. The garden was as old as time itself, with roots that reached deep into the earth and branches that stretched towards the heavens. In the heart of this garden, there was a magnificent tree, known to the villagers as the Tree of Wisdom. It was said that anyone who sat beneath its shade for a single hour would gain insight and clarity that would guide them through life's most challenging moments. The tree was the heart of the garden, its presence a constant reminder of the eternal cycle of life. One crisp autumn morning, a young girl named Elara wandered into the garden. She had heard tales of the Tree of Wisdom from her grandmother, who spoke of its magic with reverence. Elara, with her curious eyes and eager spirit, decided to seek the wisdom she so desperately craved. As she approached the tree, she was greeted by a soft rustling of leaves and the gentle scent of earth. She knelt down, feeling the cool grassbeneath her fingers. With a deep breath, she closed her eyes and began to pray for guidance.Suddenly, she felt a warm hand on her shoulder. She opened her eyes to see an elderly woman, her hair as white as the winter snow, smiling warmly at her. "Welcome, child," she said. "I am the guardian of this garden, and I have been waiting for you."Elara's eyes widened in surprise. "You mean the Tree of Wisdom has a guardian?"The guardian nodded. "Indeed. I have watched over this garden for centuries, ensuring that it remains a place of peace and wonder. Today, you have found your way here, and it is time for you to receive the wisdom you seek."With that, the guardian led Elara to the base of the Tree of Wisdom. She placed a hand on Elara's shoulder and closed her eyes. In that moment, Elara felt a surge of energy course through her body, filling her with a sense of clarity and purpose. The guardian spoke, her voice like a gentle breeze. "In this garden, you will learn that love is the greatest force in the universe. It is the foundation upon which all else is built. It is patient, kind, and forgiving, and it can overcome even the darkest of times."Elara listened intently, her heart swelling with gratitude. She realized that the wisdom she had sought was not just for herself, but for everyone around her. She understood that love was not just an emotion, but a way of life.As the hours passed, Elara felt the guardian's presence diminish. When she opened her eyes, the guardian was gone, but the wisdom she had received remained with her. She stood up and looked around the garden, her heart full of joy and determination.Years passed, and Elara returned to the garden time and time again. Each visit brought her new insights and a deeper understanding of love andlife. She became the guardian of the garden, passing on the wisdom she had received to those who sought it.The garden continued to thrive, a testament to the power of love and the resilience of the human spirit. It became a place of healing for those who were broken, a sanctuary for those who were lost, and a source of inspiration for those who dared to dream. And so, the Timeless Garden remains, a place where the past and the present coexist in perfect harmony. It is a reminder that love is timeless, and that within each of us lies the power to create our own garden of wisdom and beauty.Thank you for listening to my story. May you find your own garden of wisdom, and may the love that grows within it guide you through all of life's adventures. The end.。

英语故事三分钟演讲稿怎么写(19篇)英语故事三分钟演讲稿怎么写(通用19篇)英语故事三分钟演讲稿怎么写篇1Why does football get people into a frenzy?Who is your idol? It may be Napoleon, Picasso, or Michael Jackson. But who is my idol? Can you guess? It is Ronaldo. He is the No. 1 super star of football.Football is a game in which 22 people chase one ball around a large field. The aim of the game is to get the ball into the net to score. After all, it&s such an easy game, and yet people go crazy mad over it. The answer lies in two facts. One is the game itself. Sometimes it is beyond any description. Football is a game of passes and techniques, passion and love, more importantly, unity is the key---the whole team working as one, united they will never be defeated. The European&s style. of play is like a Waltz, the Brazilian like a Samba, and the passionate Argentineans play as if they are doing a Tango. Football is sounpredictable, so unbelievable. You will never know who will win until the last minute. Especially when suddenly there is a goal, the fans who have been sitting on the edge of their seats, will be wild with joy and e_citement; and the losers with disappointed hearts will despair over their teams. The other is of course the super stars. Each one has his own personality, just like my idol Ronaldo. When he smiles, we all smile with him. Who can forget that buck-toothed smile, or that unique hairstyle. during the 20__ World Cup. Ronaldo was born to a poor family. He has set an e_ample to children who can&t afford a pair of shoes, but have talent and a passion for football. He gives them confidence and hope of a better future.Football is the game that wins everyone&s heart and the best game ever invented.英语故事三分钟演讲稿怎么写篇2Everyone is attracted by beauty and beauty is powerful. But what is true beauty? Perhaps you can get the answer from the following story. This morning I went to the market to buy some vegetables with my parents. On the way we all highly praised a young man in western-style clothes and leather shoes who was riding by. But he rode so fast that he knocked an old lady down carelessly.Instead of stopping,he pretended not to see this and rode away quickly. We were all very angry with the young man. To our happiness,a girl in plain dress ran forward at once, helped the lady up and took her home. We all praised the girl. From this we know we cannot judge a person by his appearance. A person who is dressed beautifully may not have a beautiful soul. Only a person who has a beautiful soul is really beautiful.英语故事三分钟演讲稿怎么写篇3Hi everybody.Beauty usually refers to what appeals to the eye. A nice and well built girl is regarded as beautiful. 英语演讲3分钟故事(优秀7篇)英语课堂小故事演讲三分钟篇一It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return. But what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel.A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be and you just have to let go.The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you#39;ve ever had.It#39;s true that we don#39;t know what we#39;ve got until we lose it, but it#39;s also true that we don#39;t know what we#39;ve been missing until it arrives. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone but it takes a lifetime to forget someone. 英语演讲稿3分钟故事篇一
If we changed the rules of football, greatly enlarged the goal and sent away David Seaman or any other goal keeper, so that another David, namely David Beckham, could score easily, then scoring would not give him the thrill of accomplishment and the joy that it brings. If we further changed the rules by not allowing Arsenals defenders to defend, so that Beckham needed only to lift a finger, actually a toe, to score, then there would be no game at all, because the meaning of winning would have disappeared. In accepting the challenge, in surmounting the difficulties and in enduring the hardship, success acquires its value. The sense of attainment varies in proportion to the degree of difficulties on overcomes.
The concept of success is not constant but relative because the nature of difficulty is also relative. Something you do effortlessly might pose a great difficulty for a handicapped person. In acquiring the ability to do the same as you can, he or she achieve success. Thats why we greatly admire Stephen Hawking, because, though confined to a wheel chair, he has contributed greatly to the field of science.
I myself, a rather shy person by nature who easily suffer from stage fright, had to pluck up great courage to take part in a speech contest like this. I could have stayed away and had an easy time of it by not entering the university level contest. But I chose to accept the challenge and to face the difficulties. Now here I am. If I come out first, it will be a great success for me. If I come out last-I hope this will not be the case-but if I come out last, I will not call my attempt a failure, but will also celebrate it as a true success, because part of my goal is my own character training-to do more assertive, to be brave in face of difficulties. For me, it is a meaningful step forward, small as it is, in the long journey toward the final success in my life, because I have truly gained by participating.
Let us return to our handsome young prince and the 4-step definition of success. You my have noticed that the usual worldly criteria of wealth, position and fame were not mentioned as part of the story, but rather, it emphasized the process of overcoming difficulties. The ancient wisdom had already defined the meaning of success, and this is my definition, too.
Thank you.

“Once upon a time, there was a king who had a daughter as beautiful as a blooming rose. To all the suitors who came to the kings palace to ask for the hand of the princess, the old king assigned three tasks to be accomplished, each next to impossible. One day, into the kings palace came a handsome young prince…" Well, you know the rest. The three tasks may be different in different versions, but the main plot is always the same, with the prince claiming the princesss hand triumphantly.
And the ending is always the same, finishing with the line "And they live happily every after."
Why arent we tired of something so fanciful, so unrealistic, and, I would say, so unimaginative? How can a story like that。
