Notional Day
• Time: December 5th • The national day of Thailand is the birthday of the king, and it is also called the Father’s Day
Thai food
• There are 4 major cuisines(泰北菜,泰中 北菜,泰中菜,泰南菜) • Thai food is famous for its color, aroma and taste. The main flavors are sour and piquancy. • People always add fish sauce(鱼露) and MSG(味精) into dishes. They don’t put soy sauce and sugar into food.
⑶Taboos in Buddhism
①Respect all sizes of the Buddhas , and do not climb them. ②Be courtly to monks and do give them money directly ③Females can not touch the monks ④Dress up neatly when you visit temples

Songkran
• Also called Water-Sprinkling Festival • Time: from April 13th to 15th • It is the new year of Thailand and people will have 4 days to celebrate this festival. Besides, the most respected buddha---Sihing(帕辛佛 )will be exhibited.

• Monks are respected in Thailand, and they have the saying among all levels of society. • When the man is 20,years old, he has to pravrajana(出家) for at least 3 months.
• There are also lots of Buddhist Universities.

• Time: From August 16th to November 15th about 4 months • During this period, Buddhists have to purify their thoughts, accumulate merits and stop the behaviors like drinking, gambling and slaughter
• ⑷Man and woman should not be too intimate in the pubic. • (5)Do not gamble. • (6)Do not speak too loudly.
• (7) In the land of smiles, you should wear a smile on your face. People in Thailand are very enthusiastic, kindhearted and accommodating. If you have problems, don’t hesitate to ask them for help.
Buddha's birthday
• Time: May 31 • This festival is to celebrate the birthday of Sakyammuni (释迦牟尼). • On that day, Buddhist temples will hold the fast(举行斋戒), chant sutras (诵经) and use different kinds of perfume to wash the Buddha
Some taboos about body
⑵⊙Do not touch other’s head. ⊙Do not point people and things with your feet, or use your feet to open and close door. ⊙Use your right hand to pass things, rather than left one.
